She is from Renfrew! Which admittedly is close to Glasgow but isn’t Glasgow!!

Tom had started lap 3 so the ref could have awarded it - she chose not to!

Glasgow so I understand wanted the heat to be awarded, but it was only the 3rd bend on the second lap.
If the leader had started lap 3 when the race is stopped it can be awarded no matter where incident happened. The ref could have awarded it but chose not to

Yes Congreve was announced to replace him but was then disqualified for failing to beat 2 minutes

13 minutes ago, Endeavour said:Surely should be a NL rider if Marcin is missing for this reason.
There is no such rule of a NL guest - “no facility” rule is a rider minus 25% of the missing riders average. However a facility is granted for circumstances of that riders wedding - maybe the last being Simon Lambert. Precedent is set and thereby Glasgow applied for a facility which has been granted. My main gripe is more to do with the “apparently” word used in the press release. Can you imagine if he wasn’t getting married and we applied to get one - then I’d expect us to be thrown out of the competition.

Just for the avoidance of doubt Marcin Novak is not “apparently” getting married on Saturday (copyright Edinburgh Speedway Official Website) he IS getting married on Saturday. Just want to be clear on that point - and while we are at it this has been arranged for a while and not just since last Friday - yes I know it’s hard to believe that a wedding can take longer than 8 days to arrange.

Not if the two riders (or more) replace equal or higher averages riders individually (not combined)

I’m afraid the weather wins again - off tonight

Just out of curiosity what would you consider substantial?

6 minutes ago, Tsunami said:I understand that at first the ref wanted to take Cook out of the meeting, but the Eastbourne promotion asked for him to be reinstated so as to not weaken the meeting. I believe Cook will be dealt with in an alternative way.
Utter nonsense

They are not entitled to a guest - only r/r as he's 4th in the averages

On a side note... did anyone notice Chris Louis there last night?
Yes he was there

To be fair Ben was by no means first choice - several others were unwilling or unable to take the offer. We will see how Ben does tonight - fingers crossed he has one of his better nights round the Dale

Worrall can't sign anywhere as he's still in the Glasgow 1-7 and remains there until approval is gained

The rule about no GP riders in what is now the Championship was certainly written in black and white recently - in the 2018 regulations however it is nowhere to be seen!
The move is still subject to approval and we will wait and see what they say.
