Leicester V Coventry Sat 4th April
stevethelion replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
MM's average is 6.02, but all home riders ( except D/U riders ) get a 5% increase, when calculating which guests can cover for them, so this takes MM's average to 6.32, has Rory's average is only 6.22 he can cover for MM. Hope that makes sense. -
Does anyone know if Lions will be allowed a guest facility for Jason Doyle when he rides in the world pairs for Australia? He'll miss 2 meetings ( 11th April v Belle Vue & 9th May v Coventry). So it looks like we'll be without both Doyle & Michelsen for the B.V meeting, not a good start to the season.

Leicester V Coventry Emb 15 03 2015 12:00 Start

No, family bereavement. -
Ok thanks, just wondered why it's still shown on the fixtures, admittedly as provisional.
-
You say the first 2 home matches are both against Coventry, does this mean that the Swindon fixture on the 28th of March which is still down as provisional on the Lions & SGB website is off, or as no definite decision been made yet? Does anyone know?
-
I like you, thought Skornicki, but he's pulled out of the BEN meeting on sunday because he's unable to arrange transport / flights to be able to ride. If the rider Lions have signed has been practising at Leicester all week he is obviously already in the country, which hopefully rules Skornicki out.

Buy her a season ticket !

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
stevethelion replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I have to agree, I loved to watch Cook in action & remember him battling with Ole Olsen for 4 laps to get a last heat win to earn Lions a rare 40-38 win over Coventry. The only time i've shouted myself hoarse at a speedway meeting. -
Yes, someone asked DH whether Jason would be available for the start of the season & he said that UK immigration had said that all riders who were eligible for visas would have them for the start of the season. And he was confident Jason would arrive in the country earlier than he did at the start of last season.
-
Norrie said last night that they still wanted to sign someone as 3rd heat leader & it was still very much the preferred option to have Michelsen at 2 or 4 & not at heat leader. To do this they are now looking to sign someone with an average between 6.66 & 6.03 which narrows the choice somewhat especially with Buckowski turning down a contract offer, although I think Norrie was perhaps hoping he would change his mind.Suggestions from the floor did include Richie Worrall but Norrie said they were reluctant to use a double-upper because of fixture clashes, plus that would mean using Michelsen as heat leader.
-
At the meeting this evening Alan Jones confirmed we had 6.66 left, so presume Wozniak is on 5.50. Norrie Allen said Buckowski had been offered a contract but didn't want to ride in UK this season. Someone suggested Kilmakorpi, but Norrie said he hadn't been able to contact him, & last he heard he was talking to Wolves.

I think someone might have been reading this post!, management have announced a bigger room at the Marriott has become available meaning non-season ticket holders can attend for a £5 fee.
-
Think you've hit the nail on the head with that comment. The e-mail i received advertising the event was followed by the message if you would like to attend, please buy your season-ticket before the 22nd. Something i won't be doing before i see the fixtures for next season, to see if they clash with holidays etc. Especially after being ripped off last year when we paid for 18 league matches & after Birmingham pulled out, only seeing 16, without so much as a little discount off this seasons ticket as compensation.
-
Kylmakorpi ?

Lions 6th rider to be announced next Thursday 22nd at a meeting for season ticket holders, sponsors etc. The rider will be introduced to the guests & will form a heat-leader partnership with Jason Doyle. This announced on Lions website today.
-
Being as Flagrag is usually on the ball about most things going on at Leicester, I presume he could well mean the Lions are interested.
-
Unless there's been a change of plan can't see Worrall coming to Lions, because when Michelsen was signed it was announced he would ride at 2 or 4, if Worrall signs this means Michelsen would have to be a heat-leader as he's got a higher average than Worrall.
-
Whoever they go for, they surely can't make more of a mess of it than they did last season.
-
You've forgotten the one signing we've made, Wozniak. Substitute him for Klindt & i'd be quite happy with the 1-5, not sure about the reserves though. But it's a bit of a waste of time guessing teams until we know what Wozniak's assessed average is going to be.
-
You're not really serious are you!
-
Lions announce Polish 21 year old Szymon Wozniak as their first signing. He arrives on an assessed average, but website doesn't say what that average is.
-
Is this a bit of a cryptic clue when you say " think America" rather than "think AMERICAN. Would it be 'DAKOTA' North.
-
If it's moving towards midweek racing for next season why does Hemsley say he's " formulating plans for a workaround as and when Jason will be missing".He wouldn't need to if plans were in place for midweek racing next season. Unless the other promoters are keeping him in the dark about their plans!
-
Doubt it would be KK, polish club unlikely to let him ride on saturdays, I'd guess at Smolinski.
