  1. Two big crowds this season both on a non working day. Three poor crowds on the fixed race nights. What more evidence do you need BSPA. I really fear for the Rockets

    Rye House 2018

Nicholls has surprised me how well he has ridden this season (even when he misses the gate which is quite normal), he gives it his all every race. He should know it is very much appreciated.
  3. Sad you should react in such a way when I thought this was a forum for reasoned debate.and sometimes hard truths. You claim that I have a problem with Edward yet I mentioned praise for his performance on Monday and I say it again was delighted to see it and we damn well needed it. You claim I didn't make allowances for his injury yet he took a guest booking at Lakeside instead of resting his need to his team. You claim I only single out Kennett yet I have shown concern for Bombers performances prior to the Poole match and poor Clegg who needs to be dropped firstly for his own sake as much as for the teams. Then you infer with a dash of menace that I should visit the pits to face Edward and hid dad well are you their appointed spokesman? For what I know of them they will take it as constructive and will attempt to turn things around. I come on this forum not to have spats with keyboard warriors but somebody who has cared passionately about my club since 1970 and where I see successes and failures I wish to point them out, I hope you can do the same.
  4. I am happy to congratulate Eddie on tonights performance but to say his seasons performance of an average of 4.33 is just dandy is stretching it. Suddenly you defend Eddie for his current injury, well it hampered him at Swindon (didn't beat an opponent) 48 hours after he beat Morris twice, Ellis and Lawson at Lakeside. Oh and a great score 1 at Poole (didn't beat an opponent at Poole) after he got 11 at Sheffield in the British Semi Final. No I dont have a problem with Eddie and I also put on record what a great servant he has been over the years but this year he has been all over the place at Rye and I sincerely hope this is the start of a rich vein of form which the team sorely needs.
  5. Two false starts did look harsh on KL but you conveniently forget that Rye were on a 5-1 when Anderson fell off and oh yes Lambert wins the re-run, whilst you do have a point try to keep it balanced.
  6. Well done Rye House although we still cant put a total performance together. Finally Kennett, Summers and a reserve does the business and then Harris looks totally battered and bruised from yesterday, KK chooses the wrong bike and Scotty cant make a gate.Don't be too harsh on Bomber as at least he turned up for the Rockets (not every No 1 does that when they are not 100%) Give credit also to KL the typical dog that just wont let go of your trouser leg.
  7. I guess you are right that was the real plan, well its gonna work because hardly anybody will be doubling up next year when a bunch of clubs close.
  8. Everybody saw how big the monday bank holiday crowd was against Somerset and it started at 3.00pm, so of course they are running today at, yes you guessed it 7.30pm to accommodate TV (for which they get pennies) You couldn't make it up. I hope the promotion survive this season then overthrow the idiots who "run" our sport.
  9. Now I understand why we are stuck with Fixed Race nights so Grand Prix riders can grace us with their presence.
  10. I will have what your having
  11. KK ave 8.57 and won all 3 heat 15s at home this sseason when we desperately needed him to Nicholls ave 8.44 expectations were not any higher surely Harris ave 6.07 granted bad start to the season but he responded by being a hairs breath from an away maximum at Poole Kennett ave 4.38 last year a No 1 and only 48 hours ago he beat Ellis, Lawson and Morris twice on their own track "theres none so blind as those who wish not to see"
  12. Edward Kennett at Sheffield British Semi Final 3 2 3 1 1 = 10 at Poole for Rye House 0 0 0 1 = 1(didn't beat an opponent) at Lakeside for Edinburgh 2 1 1+1 3 2+1 = 9+2 at Swindon for Rye House 1 0 1 ret = 2 (didn't beat an opponent) Eddie has given great service in the past to Rye House but
  13. wow our inspirational choice of guest has scored less than Kennett and Clegg, now that's not easy.
  14. I see Kennett beat Nick Morris twice on Saturday and scored 9+2 with our reserves Zach will be in double figures, so the top 3 will be isolated unless Kennett starts to deliver. Don't expect more than 38 and that wont be enough

    Rye House 2018

Well said overall, although Clegg is so out of his depth it is embarrassing (I think he has beaten an opposing rider who finished the race once all season) I think Kennetts effort (not for the first time this season) deserved a separate section. the only points I will add is Summers had yet to let the side down this season and not sure if Doolans crash in heat 2 had an impact on his evening. I would not normally be this harsh but this season is really risky for the rockets, the budget on the heat leaders is very expensive (of which the management should receive credit for), feeble TV money, stupid fixed race nights and Lakeside with a very attractive team down the road, an underperforming team is exactly what the doctor would not prescribe.

Poole vs Rye House Weds 16/05/18

Simply not good enough tonight, to lose by 4 to the weakest Poole team we will ever meet. Well three riders don't beat an opponent, Kennett rode for this lot last season and still only beat Clegg, after 10 heats we were 6 down and even with an interval we fail to think of having a tac/sub with KK and Nicholls available and Clegg has gets an EXTRA ride tonight, Im not sure which fact is the most amazing On some positive notes, well done Bomber, hope you can hit a good run now goodness how we need you, thanks KK for not losing interest and Scotty for continuing to defy "old father time"

Poole vs Rye House Weds 16/05/18

Well its D-Day for this Rye House 7 Often a season can be determined by when you meet teams and with Nicholls, KK and Harris in form, KK and Kennett roding here last year, Doolan is no weaker than NBJ and finally missing Worrall/Kildermand weakens Poole. In short, no excuses its big win or big changes.

Poole vs Rye House Weds 16/05/18

Great to see Bomber getting 13 at Leicester last night after his 0 a few weeks ago at the same venue clearly his early season problems are now behind him and I look forward to a double figure score tonight at Poole (he scored a bunch at Poole only last week) to launch our season. GO ROCKETS 44-46

Hard to disagree on anything you said. No doubling up, if riders want to be full time get out and promote the sport (do you see any rider going round the terraces during a meeting or attending schools and precincts during the week), are grasstrack riders fulltime? Close racing is far more important than a "named" rider half a lap ahead so we don't need big names just riders that are associated with our club. A 9 point No 1 will be king pin with fans regardless of his overall standard. I don't remember Nicki Pedersen putting 2,000 on the gate at Eastbourne, Hancock at Reading and did the ex world champion pack the stands at Kings Lynn last year? But the really sad part is I have so little faith in the BSPA that I even question why I waste my time bleating out the bleeding obvious.
  20. Spot on about the real reason for FRN, although I suspect one or two "superstars" will appear in England after 31 July (probably at Poole) when their own GP chances have gone and the opportunity to sum extra greenbacks will entice them to grace out sport and us mugs will welcome them instead of calling them parasites.

    Rye House 2018

Its OK playing fantasy speedway but all the options will be too expensive unless you unload either Harris, Nicholls or KK. without the TV money and reduced attendances from FRN I suspect the sport is in serious danger and coming to the tapes in April 2019 might be the biggest success any club can achieve this year. That said, as shown on Monday (wasn't Nicholls excellent) its the bottom end of the team that may need tweaking not the top.
  22. Just look at the crowd at Rye yesterday, Wednesday is madness that could close the club, still at least Woffy, Hancock, Pedersen etc are all back gracing British speedway after moaning for years about needing a fixed race night in England.
  23. The difference between Kennetts 1st and 4th rides today was massive and the team is structured for a lot more than that from Eddie Don't be fooled by a low score of 7 Harris put in a proper shift today, it looked like a bit of light questioning "rattled his cage" anyway give credit where credits due well done today Chris another week that would have bagged you double figures.
  24. Just look at the crowd size compared to the Wednesday meeting against Wolves and that's why bank holiday Monday at 3.00pm happens. Yes I get the dust but my club surviving overrules any inconvenience. Tough meeting again with Nicholls rolling back the years, KK and much more lively Harris carrying us. Kennett only confirmed my fear with his inclusion this season with a dire heat 14 and Max Clegg whom I am sure is a nice chap and I wish him well be is soo far out of depth please change it before it destroys him as a rider.

    Rye House 2018

Thank you for the update and very sorry to hear of the personal and professional issues, its hard though as a passionate fan when we hear absolutely nothing from the club whats going on so we naturally jump to our own conclusions. Lessons to be learned for everyone. Lets hope you can return to the form we all know you are capable of asap.
