Have they tried Thomas H Jonasson?

Which could easily move to Stadia UK's Poole operation - where happily they only lease the stadium from Poole council. Time to get your MP Jason Tomllinson on the case and write to your local paper and stir it up.

I take it there is no sign of anything bar houses going up? In which case they have to hope the old place doesn't have any accidents. Even if Stadia UK were to build a new one, which I have to doubt, it wont be ready anytime this season.

I doubt it. Greyhound racing is, if anything, struggling more than speedway. They have Poole,, their CEO Osbourne must be nearly 70... More dosh from more houses etc is likely to win the day and so far they seem to be getting away with it.

This seriously needs a save our speedway campaign with plenty of press coverage. I warned some time ago that my suspicion is that Stadia UK would rather have more houses than a new stadium. And at Reading we remember how they wriggle. Our council were as much pro speedway and dogs but to no avail.

    Why No Speedway Track...?

But Carmarthen never pulled even half decent crowds did they? Which suggests you are right about Ebbw Vale SCB. From those involved at Newport they suspect it would still be running had Tim Stone lived. But perhaps he should have used the lights he bought from Newport County and switched to Saturday evenings when Swindon lost that racenight. Certainly there would have been fewer track grading delays that spoilt meetings at Queensway Meadows. Speedway looks faster under lights I've always felt...

Looked great at Newport and Bristol, never quite delivered for Swindon or Reading.

One of the best speedway books, a very good read,

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?

Alan Ham was the same with Bradford, always Gary Havelock, yellow and black Heat 8. Trembles was a handicap and I think Bernie Crapper generally kept an eye on him!

I am certain that the developers and Stadia UK would prefer more houses and no stadium. Stadia UK depend on the BAGS contract, without which the greyhound operation would not be profitable. And those meetings could probably be switched to Poole - where thankfully they are only tenants of Poole Borough Council.

THE FACTS Readng/Smallmead you all know what happened, I won't repeat it and get condemned again. Milton Keynes Groveway Stadia UK 2006 statement "Milton Keynes Greyhound Stadium will soon be relocated to nearby Elfield Park. Initial construction works have recently been completed to facilitate the relocation. " Bristol Eastville - Fire South Stand 1980. Bristol Rovers soon have to leave Eastville and play at Twerton Park, Bath. You choose to believe Stadia UK even want to build a new stadium if you will. I hope to be proved wrong but.....

    2016 Gp Riders

Kildemand and Hampel had to be in. They also need one Swede and Andreas Jonsson is the pick. Lindback, and back ups like Lindgren - no. The series needs Emil Sayfutdinov rather more than he needs it,and without him a lot of sparkle is lost.

Fires? Seem to remember at least one at Eastville, the original base of GI. Must get out my old hit record by Arthur Brown - Fire. Didn't that also put the final kybosh on speedway continuing at Newport when Phil Morris and other possible partners were interested. Surely there won't be one at Blunsdon?

    Swindon End Of Era Meeting.

Not much of a field is it?

    Swindon End Of Era Meeting.

Sadly I think the answer is NO and I bet Osbourne/Stadia UK and Gaming International will do anything to get out of it. And I hope Rosco drops Batchelor from the final meeting team as the brat will get booed.

Does modular mean portakabins? There are plenty just inside the gate on turn one! We had them at Smallmead because it was built on a former refuse tip where the land had not settled. It does not sound like the start of art new stadium originally spoken of. Finally agree totally with all those who have seen enough of Mr Troy Batchelor.

After reading the club website update just tell everyone when the work starts please Messrs Russell and Osbourne.

Very few Robins fans will battle the traffic on a Friday, a few more might go to Oxford - which is not currently available as far as we all know.
  22. I think the only good thing to come out of last Monday will see Batchelor, a loanee, out of the club. Even on good days he pulls off the track when last. He never has been and never will be a number one. To go with him and Medzinski as the top two its a bloody miracle Swindon made the play offs. A real #1 Darcy Ward, lifted them before his sad injuries. Make up with Jason Doyle for starters. Keep Morris and Zengi and get some over 50 tablets for Rosco and teach him how to switch reserves when it needs to be - his achilles heel.

    Swindon End Of Era Meeting.

I am so glad that some of you, notably Buzz Cagney, have now grasped the warnings from other Reading folk and myself - all of whom want speedway in Swindon to continue. My own view is that Osbourne will try to switch the Abbey BAGS meetings, which pay big bucks to Poole, which thankfully they only lease. That would make the greyhounds non viable and with speedway not really pulling in the crowds the odds favour him. The one thing for sure is that a new stadium, if there is one, won't be ready for the 2016 season. So the final End of Era meeting is either the end totally or that old stadium will still be in use next year. Try hard to get the media to air this mess, which sadly was predictable.
  24. Does anyone know admission prices in Sweden or Poland? Guests, doubling up and double point races have also diluted the product. I know many riders double in Sweden but there are no fixture clashes/ As to the tracks most in Sweden and Poland do seem wider, hence more racing lines.

I sat on the grass on bends 1 or occasionally 4 if the weather was really good, but generally preferred the straights and the seats near the bar until Stadia UK/Gaming International took over and hiked the bar prices - and rarely pay Swindon's prices with them when I visit now! No former Racers fan wants you to be duped and turned over as we were. Please please get the MP, council, newspaper and other internet news folk insist on the clause that the new one be ready and open before the old one is demolished or closed. Also we dont know yet if Oxford is going t be available or have I missed what would be good news?
