  1. NZ is still struggling economically in the aftermath of CHCH but does have a financial fairy godfather so it could just happen; Australia won't go ahead in the near future without significant state or federal government backing, and the Sport of Speedway just doesn't have that financial pull (at the moment - an Aussie World Champion might help).

Book your ticket BFD its going to happen

  2. Any ideas on where track would be?

Western Springs is the first one that comes to mind, Very decent set up and good size track (428mtrs) and not to far from city centre. Altho not sure could accomodate the size of a GP. (not that im expecting crowd size like in EU) Other option would be in a stadium like Eden Park or Mt Smart. Defo making my way back out there if this is confirmed.

    Grand Prix 2012 Auckland

Next year's Grand Prix added a new location.Western Springs Auckland

The season starts in the Grand Prix is on March 31 will begin on New Zealand and this means that the 2012 season, is home to twelve of the best battle scene. BSI entered into a three-year contracts in New Zealand.

  3. Elite League

I'd like to see 2 heat leaders exempt from points limit, this will allow teams to retain key riders from season to season. And make it possible to entice the GP riders back.

the remaining 5 riders from a points limit of 25 -26.

At least 1 British rider in each team. ( The named British rider must be eligible and willing to ride for GB) - 10 British riders

    Premier League

At least 2 British Riders in each team ( The named British riders must be eligible and willing to ride for GB) - 28 British riders

    National League

    Age limit 17 to 30

At least 4 British Riders in each team ( The named British riders must be eligible and willing to ride for GB) - 40 British riders

    Youth League

All Elite league tracks must provide track time (no financial payments needed) after the match for a mini league of 4 rider teams 13 - 17yrs - 30 British Riders

All youth riders are to be encouraged to pit for their Elite league team.

At least 3 British Riders in each team.

This would see approx 40% of riders to be British and also allow all leagues to experience riding against 'foreigners' who at present are the yardstick to gauge against.

  4. As I said in my original post, Morley was the best rider, points wise on the night, he did get lucky a few times, but that is speedway. In my opinion, he should have been crowned champion because he scored more points than the other riders on the night. However we know that in Finals things rarely go the way of the top rider on the night, he didn't do himself any favours regarding his gate choice for the final, 4 and 2 were working better all night and as much as I like Ben and think he is a top talent, he rarely makes a pass, as soon as he hit bend 2 it was clear he wasn't going to take the crown. Garrity raced very well and he deserved the title because he won the final. Simple as that.

But in the Final you ride against 3 other equally good riders.

The rider that gets a most points on the way to the final may have a favourable draw and only met the other 3 one at a time, where another rider may get 2 of the top riders together and a bad gate.

If you're the best you can beat everyone when it matters.

4m16s into video is 12yr old Bradley Andrews on 250cc

  7. Kiwi there is a distinct lack of riders at the standard required for the National League. It is all very well developing riders but teams need to be competitive or supporters won't watch. In my opinion it is worse this year and certainly at Buxton we struggled to field a team within the points limit and seriously questioned our ability to continue. There are a lot of youngsters competing in the U16 Champs this year but it will be a while before they are old enough to compete in the NL. Not sure where Dudley get a replacement from whoever they get wont score what Royno was but I'm sure they will pull something out of the bag.

perhaps the banning of commonwealth riders was to hastie then, perhaps they should have limited it to 1 or 2 riders per team and then phased it out as the under age riders move up the next couple of seasons.

  8. This is what i dreaded happening Royno has been pretty much unbeatable for us in the NL, I have sent my best wishes to Royno elsewhere.

Personally I would stay loyal to who we have, and sign Mark Baseby to make up the Team, yes it may mean taking a short term hit by not being as succesful in 2011 as we would have been with Adam. It is almost impossible to find a equal rider ability wise on the average he is on, We only have i think 7.77 to replace Royno, so theres NO way we can find another 11.00 rider with a 7 + average so whoever it is we will be substantially weaker.

Kiwi, yes its a development league, but whilst we could put in another "newby" we already have Darryl and Luke, Ash who,s only 17, and Tom who is in his second season,Richard who is also Under 20, these were supported by Adam still only 22, and the experience comes from armo, who is in the veteran stage of his career. Armo is already out, and now Adam is out for a considerable time, we badly need experience at this time. The Heathens fans are argueably the best in British Speedway, but they wont stand for having a Team who may be whipping boys for the rest of the League, we need to be succesful at least at home, and competitive away, this also benefits other Teams as WE have far and away the largest away following in the NL, and the envy of many in higher Leagues, this support will not pay the hard earned and expensive costs involved in travelling away to see us thrashed. This may be controversial to say, but it is fact. We have no god given right to be succesful, but expect to see the strongest Team possible within the rules.

See your point, but isn't better when you tough it out and find out what some of the riders are capable of when they don't have others to rely on.

  9. Well as gutted as I am for Roynon our season must go on. Armstrong and Roynon are out injured and in May we face at least one challenge, one KOC, three league and one A.N.Other (Hackney?) meeting. So where the hell do we go from here? Roynon is irreplaceable on his average so a like-for-like change is off the table. We can't cover with r/r particularly as Armstrong is also out, Perry hasn't found his form yet and it's not quite clicked for Franklin either. Clearly they and one of the reserves can't score Roynon's points, although we're lucky Morris is going well. So do we make multiple changes and re-declare under the points limit as though we're starting the season from scratch? That's likely to result in an unwanted early season casualty to make room for new riders. But who's out there that can come in to a 'redesigned' line-up?

Haven't we been told for years this is a development league for 'british' riders. There's no foreigners in the way this year, I thought british riders were lining up to ride. Put some newbys in at the bottom and develop them.
