  1. Mitchell did very well for us and can take a lot of credit from his spell, a number of us would have been happy for him to stay.

I admit to not being too keen on him myself, but he would have been better kept on than Wilkinson who spends far too much time on the floor for a rider of his experience, Davey at least has a chance of improvement.

  2. Redcar is a better team now than the one we have met in earlier season meetings. Carl is struggling but Kus has woken up, and Davey replaces Dilger.

Still don't reckon it will make them strong enough to beat us, but a better meeting will result tomorrow.

Looking forward to the Bears hoards to swell our ranks. Forecast is good with no rain, and with our superb track, how can anybody miss it.

Shouldn't that be "Dilger replaces Davey"?

  3. I see on the club website that Kennet is going to leave 2 bikes up here and fly up as it will be as cheap as an 850 mile round trip in the van. This sounds like a good idea as he aint goimg to be knackered after a long drive.

Where too though? I see Newcastle is slightly nearer than Edinburgh. I would have thought that a pre-booked East Coast Express would be cheaper and possibly quicker over all.

  4. Will this be just a temporary fix though? What happens when Ashworth is fit again? Kennett leaves and so do the crowds? I genuinely hope it all works out and I'm glad we've raced you already now because you are a lot stronger now!

These aren't temporary signings in that respect.

  5. Branford may have felt hard done by but made no attempt to get off the track at all, maybe his refusal to budge had some bearing on the refs decision.

Also shouting in the pits afterwards that if he was going to get excluded for that next time he'll just "ride straight through the c**t" may not be the cleverest thing to do as they are both young riders who may be riding together for Great Britain in years to come

All in all a good day and congratulations must go to the Ipswich track staff for preparing a very good racing surface that had riders passing all over the place.

Branford in the GB side! That really would be scraping the barrel.

  6. Prior to injuries, part of the sport, the team being tracked tomorrow was the same that drew 45-45 at Lynn on friday. Of that 7 5 are American passport holders, one is a Kiwi. Brent Werner was supposed to be #5 before work and other commitments ruled him out. Given that Manzares and Scopellite scored double figures on friday and young Sims scored 8, the team as submitted can hardly be called weak.

But yes, I agree, people should go out and support this new venture, regardless of how many illegal aliens ride for the USA tomorrow!

There might be people travelling there who have no internet access, they are likely to feel very aggrieved that what has been advertised isn't what is on the menu. Anyway thank you for your explanation.

  7. Its a pity that Steve B ran short of fuel towards the end of the meeting and he couldn't find the filler cap, so was unable to take his place in the semi final.

The 3 riders that were the the class of the field were Steve, Jason and Nelson. Morley, Halsey and Manzares were not far off the pace. Really only one or two wobblers in the line up.

    Overall some good races.

"Its a pity that Steve B ran short of fuel towards the end of the meeting and he couldn't find the filler cap, so was unable to take his place in the semi final." I presume this is some kind of joke?

  8. I've been watching Mitch since he cam over with Josh G. I felt after a couple of seasons he had declared his potential, ie, he can ride a bike, fast, but he gets intimidated by other, more forceful riders around him. If speedway were a time trial sport he'd do very well.

I felt the Glasgow promotion gave him far too much leeway in the hope he'd come good, but he never did, and to be perfectly blunt, unless and until he grows a pair, this will remain his lot in the sport.

I read here he wasn't even here last year but I distinctly remember seeing him in the crowd at Glasgow ( where he's very popular with a lot of fans.) He was as I recall wearing a weird hair cut, with pink highlights. Honest.

I feel for the guy cos he really is a good young bloke and he deserves to succeed, but can one change one's nature ? Hmmmmm.

He was here, he rode in some second halves and the Julie Lewis individual at Redcar.

  9. so, all you Redcar fans. what do you think of you're team now. still my tip to finish near or at the top this season. done better than worky at sheff. keep it up.

sheff must be pooing themselves now. go and stuff em tonight at Redcar. you bears are my tip for the league.

what do toy think now drac and co.

Dyer is definitely the key, when he hasn't managed his usual mammoth score the team don't do anything like as well. It will be interesting to see what the effect is when he moves up into the main body.
