    Workington 2019

Hello, the finals DVDS were recorded by ReRun (Playoffs and Shield) and Tapes Up Productions (KOC), The DVDs comprise both legs of each fixture, so thats 6 meetings in total and the few heats that were run of the final league meeting v Lakeside before it was abandoned have been added to the end of the Shield Final DVD

    The Big Spenders

Is that the same solid businessmen who highlighted their losses the day the AGM started and asked for volunteers to help the club out during the new season :S Laura Morgan has always been honest and open about how difficult the last couple of seasons have been for her she has always said that she wont pay silly money to attract riders to her club but there is one thing for sure she has always had and will continue to have Workington Comets best interests at heart and that is probably why we are running this coming season, she most certainly does not have a chip on her shoulder !

While I would be disappointed not to have Rasmus in the team next year we have to be realistic,. If you had a job and then another employer offered you a substantial amount more for doing the same job but at a different venue then surely its not unlikley that you would accept the other offer. Its a job at the end of the day that has to generate money in order to cover both his racing costsAND provide him with a living wage, like I said I would love him back but no one can really blame him for taking the bigger money.

    Glasgow 2019 Onwards

Exactly Paul, as do all clubs, speedway would be in an even bigger mess without those people, I just found it that part of the statement bizarre !

    Glasgow 2019 Onwards

Just managed to read the article in full, like Paulco I was surprised to see it raise so soon after the AGM had started and indeed wondered why. I was also surprised to read 'To help secure the club’s future, we are looking for volunteers across the whole club who can help with any activity from promoting, fundraising, working in the ticket office, selling food and beverage, selling programmes or 50/50 tickets, track staff, sponsorship sales, as well as off-season volunteers.' Workington have been doing this for years and we still find ourselves struggling.

    2nd leg play off final

Last week attracted a number of neutral supporters who travel far and wide at this ppont it the season I would imagine there will be just as many tomorrow night
  12. Why thank you Pinny, we hope we win them all as well !
  13. Thank you for the sensible reply and not a single mention of a dodgy promotor, I was looking at the wrong average column, no wonder no one understands any of it :S
  14. I was kind of hoping for a real reason rather than just what others might be thinking is the reason, ah well never mind !
  15. I know nothing of the complexity of the rules and averages (female) but Rickys ave is higher than Autys according to the BSPA website so how is he able to guest ?
  16. Saturday Meeting at Workington now confirmed as OFF, rerun will be Sunday at 7.30 at Derwent Park
  17. I personally find the Glasgow fans to be some of the best visiting supporters to Derwent Park, we shouldnt tar them all with the same brush much as we wouldnt like to be labelled because of the way some of our fans behave. This weekend should be a celebration of the fact both teams have made it to the playoffs and that we should see some very entertaining speedway

    Workington 2018 .

Absolutely THJ, every penny made in the Track Shop goes into Workington Speedway, we aim to do everything we can to please supporters which can be very difficult at times. Lets hope we have something really big to celebrate very soon and that we can be producing merchandise with Championship Winners 2018 on it in time for Christmas !

    Workington 2018 .

We have the Speedway Star every week
  20. Ive not been given a price yet but they are usually about £10, we are open until 7pm then after the meeting from about heat 14 for about 45mins, we also have some other away wins on DVD should you be interested
  21. The meeting has been recorded and will be available from the Track Shop at our next home meeting, anyone wanting toreserve a copy can do so by sending me a pm
  22. Ive been sent a video this evening that shows Mason is clearly not the cause of the accident, I am so disillusioned with speedway tonight after a couple of things that happened at the track after the accident, 1, after being asked to leave some 'supporters' chose to either stay in the stadium or return to see what was going on after being asked to leave quickly and quietly, give your heads a wobble its not a side show, go home and wait to hear the news in due course, 2nd the people whinging and whining about getting a poxy refund, get a grip a young lad was still lying on the track with multiple injuries, his Dad and Gran had to witness what happened, our promotor and team manger were clearly distressed, go home, do the decent thing and email the club at a more appropriate time if your are that god damned desperate. Im with you Geoff lets get behind our club and support them in any way we can and stop behaving like utter morons over things of no importance
  23. Only going by the statement from the club, I think we must have shuffled something somewhere which has resulted in it being a rearranged fixture :S
  24. Rearranged fixture so R/R on Sat for Dan and NL guests on Sunday at Newcastle
  25. Alan completed the C2C in just over 12 hours rasing a considerable amount for the Ben Fund, he was accompanied by his friend Richard on the main route and they were joined by Simon Lawson for the coastal finish, the weather conditions towards the end were very poor
