    Promotion And Relegation

I can't see how there could be a promotion/relegation playoff. By the time the championship playoffs have finished a lot of riders will have wound up their UK commitments and set ups for the year, and the weather will be getting very unpredictable. Also I can see the Premiership increasing to 12 teams for next season, with a championship made up from what's left plus some of the NL clubs. Then a third tier entirely youth/development. Our Premiership and Championship will become a development league for Poland and a home for Brits, Aussies and anyone else who wants to earn a bit extra and isn't getting enough employment elsewhere.

And what about the relegation & promotion play off?

    Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.

Hang on a minute. Has Somerset management said anything yet or has this been started off by some trigger-happy twitface

    Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.

Use whatever language you like, he had to withdraw from the meeting. Nothing to see here, move along. Maybe he shouldn't have accepted the booking in the first place

Swindon Vs Kings Lynn 21 August 2017

This current crop of Australians (and I include Saint Tai) seem to go around with chips on their shoulders and a sort of attitude not evident in their predecessors. Something of a contrast with the new crop of top Poles (and the non-top ones) such as Janowski who seem not to have the same nasty attitude.

    Holder Sacked

It's sad, so sad, it's a sad sad situation, and it's getting more and more absurd

Is the "AFA" a speedway stadium which also stages stock cars and bangers, or the other way round?

    Leicester Lions 2017

It's been a wee bit quiet news-wise about Kim Nilssons injury and what plans Leicester have during his absence. Maybe a replacement has already been signed but couldn't be announced just yet??

    Men V Boys

Recent events at Kings Lynn had me wondering who have been the best team-men in speedway, the kind who take the lead and give it a go no matter what the conditions, ride through injuries etc, and on the other hand the prima Donna's who tend to just turn it on when they feel like it. Can two teams of 7 be found? I will start by nominating the one and only Chris Harris as captain of Team Men.

I'm trying to focus on who are good team men, as opposed to individualists who don't have much of a team ethic. Riding on a poor track can be part of that, but it's more the team ethic thing I have in mind.

    Kings Lynn and Poole?

    Riding Styles

Saw film of a World Cup final from the late 1970s the other day. On a big Polish track. England (GB?) stuck it to the Poles. What interested me was the riding style. Very much foot forward into bends 1 and 3 for the most part. Today, the riders left foot hardly touches the track. Are we back to the leg trailing era, or is it now a third era of riding style?

I had the impression that Bjerre was instructed to finish second but decided to ignore it. He can be like that. Probably Morris had been given the same instruction. It would have turned into a farce with both of them trying to lose - reminds me of a boxing match in an episode of Porridge

Congratulations to Mr Rossiter on making himself look and sound like a total prat. Still, it's not too difficult, what with him being 99% of the way there anyway As with the TV match against Eastbourne a few years ago, the track last night looked to have been prepared as to produce error and incident

Will Batchelor get a sick note from the Medic for sunstroke if it's too difficult for him?

    King's Lynn Stars 2017

C.Holder I think may be a quite complex character who can switch quickly from easy-going to awkward/difficult if something isn't right in his eyes. I imagine he can be difficult to manage, especially if the manager lacks good man-management skills. Holder seems to have got this way over the past 2-3 years and if he doesn't do something about it, nobody will want to employ him. Batchelor comes across as childish, someone who tends to blame anyone or anything except himself for his shortcomings or when the going gets tough. He would also be quite difficult to manage. Together they probably present a considerable challenge to manage, beyond the capability of the majority of speedway managers and promoters. Together they could also have a significantly negative influence on team harmony.

Would seem that K.Chapman has got some serious thinking to do, and needs to make crucial decisions within a short time. The future of Kings Lynn speedway is at stake, so he needs to get it right. No pressure.

    Test Matches

I suppose this is a consequence of SGP but I miss proper international test matches. With Poland now having such a dominant position, wouldn't it make sense for Sweden, Denmark and GB (and maybe Australia) to organise series of international matches, with a requirement for teams to have 50% under23 riders? Providing riders with the chance of gaining experience of this kind must be essential if these nations are to have any hope of matching the Poles? They need to co-operate

    Poole 2017

Rule 57a (subsection 3.2b) introduced for 2017 states:"Where an injury replacement is made for a rider with Ginger hair, the replacement rider must also have Ginger hair." Looks pretty much cut and blow-dried to me

Przedpelski is averaging about 4.8 for Torun this season from 5 matches. Greg Walasek (remember him?) is averaging about 5.3 from 6. Looks like Torun are preferring to use Walasek now.
