...and do the hokey kokey or even better, dig a ditch though the centre green from apex to apex, and get some volunteers to push each side of it a few feet further apart

Lawson Or Masters?
Hamish McRaker replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Now Richie Worrall has been dumped on as well. It's wrong for a foreign rider to be signed up to two clubs while two Brits want to be and can't. Could Wolves let go of Masters and Skornicki (he can go and ride in Poland, they look after their own), and bring in Lawson and Worrall instead? They'd be doing the right thing for Britain. -
There you go. Enjoy....

Maybe there's some link with the fabled back straight bogs in the current stadium?

Clerk Of The Course Report From The Opening Night At The Nss

Maybe Private Eye could be interested? Usually keen to dig up the dirt (pardon pun) on local authorities -
Interesting to read about the large number of pop-up brothels in Swindon. Why Swindon? Does this explain the slow progress with the new stadium?
-
Well there you go - after about 50 years I'm starting to get the hang of it! Sounds like promoters can clear off without incurring too many liabilities, certainly compared with the liabilities potentially incurred by club owners, who sound as though they are highly reliant on promoters to be responsible and do their job properly - and vice-versa. Surprised there isn't a club owners' equivalent of BSPA, unless there is already.
-
OK - so presumably the owner also pays the bond money to the BSPA?
-
Who is responsible for payment to riders? Club owners, or Promoters?
-
Time to put out a call to Buster?

Claudio Ranieri? Soon be looking for a new job

Is it possible that Leicester and Sheffield will swap leagues before the season starts? Gives Leicester a chance to re-build and re-establish local goodwill/reputation; and Sheffield could get Richard Lawson!
-
You're right they should be charged at the same as Leicester are paying, hopefully David Hemsley as landlord is being reasonable and realistic, and not trying to take undue advantage. A short term tenancy could be charged at a considerably higher rate compared with Leicester's 15 year lease, so hopefully Coventry are not being ripped off - like you say, a fair price.
-
If they'd "taken a sabbatical" it would probably have equalled a death sentence. What they're probably getting is use of Leicester at a low rent but I think it has got to be short term only with a planned return to Brandon date set out ASAP otherwise it will turn into another farce.
-
Think that LionsDen's recent post on the other Leicester thread makes it pretty clear!
-
According to the website, it looks like Leicester has signed the 7 Tbc brothers as the 2017 team

A certain south coast promoter should be pelted with rotten eggs for his disgraceful comments last year, that it's everyone for themselves and devil take the hindmost, not his problem if other clubs are struggling to survive. The strong support shown by speedway supporters this winter, for the futures of Leicester, Belle Vue and Coventry make his views sound more akin to the utterings of D.Trump. In times like these, all need to and do pull together.
-
Is it time for speedway to follow snooker, and for riders to all have nicknames used in the pre-match introductions?

Try using some Calamine Lotion, it works for me

The new lease hopefully allows further changes to be made to the track by the new company, with a reasonably free hand. If that wasn't included in the negotiations it would be a major clanger but hopefully Buster Chapman didn't drop it. I suppose more flesh will soon begin to be added to the bare bones of today's announcement. Will Glyn Taylor stay as track curator?
-
Intriguing. Would Mr Hemsleys company be in a position to grant a 15-year lease? If not, the lease might have been struck with the council, and Mr Hemsley has been by-passed or has even left the stage. Anyways, the new lot need to get working on that track, before it turns into a swamp.
-
Presuming Coventry Speedway is still going to be the headleaseholder from 1/1/17,would just running speedway be viable? I thought Stox were needed for providing a substantial slice of the stadium operating costs.

Well I don't like getting involved in any of the childish slagging off stuff that goes on and on and on.... Bit o childish humour don't do any harm tho, hopefully Comrade Orlov may have a wee chuckle. Anyways, I'll go and let the usual morons get on with the mud-slinging!
