The Tai Woffinden Testimonial
Hamish McRaker replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nothing wrong with him covering himself in doodles and sticking Pontefract Cakes in his ears, if he wants to. I'm over 75 and often go around wearing my underpants on my head and pencils stuck up my nose -

Another whingeing Aussie. Surely Monsterland can give him a benefit meeting instead, along with his Monster mates Greg and Noddy. -
The leagues only as strong as it's weakest link

If I were Swindon I'd give Mr Doyle the boot now, and re-build the team whilst it's not too late. It is crazy to have such high dependence on one rider, who is costing 2 points at least in terms of team strength. No guarantee he will be 100% next year after the injuries, either. Loyalty? Contracts? Balderdash!! It's all just one big revolving door. Riders know that, so do promoters.

Wolves and KL to complete, then see what's left for Leicester presuming Belle Vue will be OK and have their 7 already lined up. Then a case of seeing which of those left over actually want to be with Leicester ( or don't have any options left). Would Leicester have been better going into Division 2 and building a team to compete for promotion, develop more of an asset base and also re-employ Mr Graversen? Or should they carry on up the Khyber?

I forget who it was now, but someone posted a couple of weeks ago that Mr Landlord Hemsley aka Risgby had said there wouldn't be anyone available to open and lock up during the week

Time For Nicknames?
Hamish McRaker replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That's the stuff! It all just needs a bit more imagination and thinking outside the box. Nicknames have got so boring and predicatable. For example - rather than Scott "Scotty" Nicholls - make it Scott "The Suffolk Punch" Nicholls And how about Adam "Meccano" Roynon? -
Time For Nicknames?

Bring it on I say. Robert "Five Flavours" Pfetzing is hard to beat! The sport's got to do something to broaden its appeal. Maybe the BSPA can hire Rob Walker to give things a much-needed makeover. I'm just wondering which rider would have the nickname "Interesting". Timo "Skinny" Lahti? -
Good quality bo//ocks needs time to compose.I look forward to seeing pictures ofMessrs Horton and Sandhu, hand in hand skipping through spring meadows

What Will Happen If Belle Vue And Leicester Cannot Run In 2017?
Hamish McRaker posted a topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The clock is ticking. Surely, there has to be a deadline? The league cannot just keep waiting to see if these two are actually going to run next season. Is there another club lined-up to make up the numbers? What can Chapman and the BSPA actually do? -
More than Leicester??

A set of pre-owned track lights might be better value

About 2 months after the thread I started on 31 May ? ;-)

When do they expect all of the development and building costs to have been recouped by incomes? -
What Will Happen If Belle Vue And Leicester Cannot Run In 2017?
Hamish McRaker replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What's this? Speedway promoters working collaboratively in their mutual interests? What's happened to Little Boy Blue's "sink or swim" outlook? Goodness me, what is the world coming to? I'm sure there's a pecking order. Once BV is secured, will Leicester become the priority with the 8-team threshold having been reached? Maybes a Bogoff deal? -
1. Greg Hancock 2. Tomasz Gollob 3. Greg Walasek 4. Adam Skornicki 5. Michael Max 6. Jon Armstrong 7. Tony Atkin What would that team add up to?

It's perfectly understandable and right that details of negotiations, including identities, are witheld until the ink is dry on the contracts. But it can't be too difficult to just say something basic such as "negotiations with prospective new promoters are currently taking place"......I think that's all that is needed.

Doubtful the truth will ever emerge. Was it around the same time that Hemsley got suspended, that riders (and others) stopped being paid? All sounds like a "perfect storm" but some would suspect the two events are not merely co-incidence. And if the BSPA used the promoters bond money to meet other expenses first, leaving less for the riders. From what is emerging elsewhere, the BSPA have had a bigger panic on their hands with the goings-on at Belle Vue, which is clearly their priority and Leicester will be left to sink or swim. No doubt all will become clear soon, otherwise Leicester will not be able to seriously negotiate with riders....and it will become a case of having to pick up the leftovers once more.

Best Teams You Can Build Under 50pt Limit

Is Mr Ford eyeing up possible Championship clubs to develop as Poole2, now that his wings seem to have been clipped a bit? -

I bet that Mr Klindt will be quite popular with his 5.42 PL average.... -
Call me a Corbynite or a Sturgeonite, but if something is built with the use of public (or indeed private I suppose) funds and is given the title "national stadium" then the responsibility should be with the relevant public/government bodies to ensure it is successful and properly oversee it's operation and usage. Apart from the actual meetings staged (and the majority of these were Belle Vue),what else justifies the place having this "national" label? Does training & practice take place on non-match days??
