Gavin. No 1 Poole have a team this year that does not deserve to go further in this years competition. No 2 Some Poole fans are wind up merchants and some wear blinkers. No 3 You do give Poole some praise but it appears that deep down you just do not like Poole and seem to find things wrong with most things the club do. Matt Ford has made a number of mistakes with the team this year but I truly believe that will be rectified next year. I watched Poole for many years but admit that the enjoyment has deminished over the past few seasons and my visits to speedway have been few and far between. That may also be because of age and distance to travel. Somerset is as close as Poole and I always loved watching the PL racing there but have not gone this year as they are now in the top league. To be honest I feel that Plymouth racing is much more interesting with their small track, with loads of racing lines, but also because the riders appear to give.it their all just like earlier years. I know you are entitled to your opinion and likes and dislikes but please try and keep your temper. The forum would not be the same without you and a few others. Good luck to Ipswich in the play offs.

I agree that Poole have cocked up this year. Also I think that Rye House will finish above Poole. Poole I feel will be a totally different club next years. That is what happenened in 2010. The league could well attract more riders next year. I would not be surprised if Magic returns together with Chris and Jack Holder plus.Brady. A new era could well start. This is because Matt is losing with lower crowds this year and if he wants to sell a very successful team would be a better prospect for sale. Also sponsors would come in for a successful team. Should they get to the play offs they will be the first pick for any team.

If we are having a bit of fun. No 1 Tony Rickardsson No 2 Craig Boyce No 3 Jason Crump No 4 Mark Loram No 5 Darcy Ward No 6 Magic No 7 Chris Holder Reserves in case of injury Michael Lee, Greg Hancock and Lee Richardson. Might be near the top of the league. But seriously British speedway needs to take a good look at itself. It meted she to have tracks that are fit for purpose. It needs a real structure to bring on British youngsters. Also provide a league that is strong enough to make riders want to ride in it and attract the crowds that would come in to watch good racing. I don't want much do I.

For once I agree with this entire post. Poole have really messed things up and I am sure Matt is feeling it in his pocket. I can not see this happening next year as I am sure he will be building a very strong team. This for three reasons. One that Matt will want the crowds to increase to there previous levels. Two that it is an attractive team that will encourage big sponsor back. Three that if he did wish to sell he would want to sell at the top of the game and make it very attractive for any prospective buyers.

Poole have made mistakes by the dozen this season. Not play off material That's for sure. However, anyone writing them off for seasons to come I feel could be very mistaken. They made big errors in 2008 but came back the following years. This is why as a very successful club with larger than most support they tend to be disliked. Certain people may disagree but I think they will not make the same mistakes next year.

No. This is an event for Somerset. Why give Peterborough riders a double advantage. I notice you are a supporter of that club so understand why you are trying to get the advantage

This meeting must go ahead as it would be the same for any team. Having said that there are far too many meetings going ahead with far too many guests. Surely, whoever sets up these fixtures should really think about the fans of the teams. They want to see their own riders not guests. You can understand it for injuries but because of other meeting? So many teams miss week after week not having a fixture then when one comes along what do they get guests. Just a thought perhaps they could look at fixtures that effect riders in the meeting due to be raced and fix it on one of the spare weeks.

Best of luck to Somerset. They have their proper team. Wolves have 3 guests, not their fault but shows how speedway in this country has become so unimportant

Sorry Poole. Not impressed. Kurtz , Kline and young Shane's impressed but others well not worth saying I'm afraid.

Does it really matter to anyone outside Poole who their sponsors are. To me it appears it is a local Poole firm and they are backing their local team. People outside Poole must be happy that they may have a little less money but Matt Ford is happy and he is the Pirates boss.

Gavan you seem to be the only one that wants to debate the Aussies.

Who cares about the Australian Championship form of riders. There can be many reasons for the form including what equipment they have. There are a few people on here that just seem to want to wind each other up. The Leagues in this country will be decided on the track and I just hope we all have good racing to watch. In the meantime carry on with all discussions that are really meaningless.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is freedom of speech. However, if Poole fans are happy as well as the management then that's fine. Must say I will miss Chris but will always support him except when racing again Poole. There are so many riders missing this year with the high averages and it must be murder trying to set up a team. I will miss seeing all the top riders but must say I always enjoyed the old PL. With the state of British speedway especially in the old EL then drastic measures were needed. I wish all riders and supporters a happy New Year and please enjoy supporting your team no matter which league they are in.

I just do not understand where Gavin is coming from. The only thing he should be interested in is how he does for Ipswich next season. Whatever he does for Poole does not really interest him as Poole is not his team.

I agree this thread should be about Kings Lynn. Also if Chris signs for Kings Lynn best of luck to him. He is a great rider no matter who he rides for. I will always support him in the GPs but will always support my home team when any team ride against them.

Why are some people always comparing any team people they suggest against Poole. Gavin for one seems to mention Poole in virtually all his posts. Discussing teams is great but at this time of the year nobody knows anything. Racing starts in March and that is the time we will start to see if the promoter s have made the correct pick.

Speedway is in a bad state of affairs. I don't think there is any argument to that. It is a great sport that used to attract big crowds. Unfortunately not now. I am not looking at the reasons for this in thread but merely trying to gauge which teams are attracting reasonable crowds that could ensure the sport remains. I do understand costs are relative to the league they run in. I can see that Wolves and Poole attract reasonable crowds in EL. Also Somerset and Glasgow in PL. I will be interested in others thoughts.
