Just been watching the second disc of the Rebels 2016 season. Getting more and more impressed with Jake Allen with every meeting. It's great watching the highlights but it don't beat being there, something I miss immensely. Apart from Rye House, next nearest is Swindon followed by Leicester both 90 minute runs on a good day.
Great set of dvd's Cliffboy enjoyed every minute of them hope you enjoy them

Ah right missed those...thank you.
Am I right in saying Adults have gone up a £1?
For some reason I thought OAP's were a tenner last season? That's what I thought I'd paid for my father last time. Open to correction. Mind has gone blank.
from 2015 for 2016
Match-night general admission prices remain unchanged from the 2015 campaign of £15.00 (adults), £13.00 (concessions), £4.00 (young adults 12-18 inclusive) and children 11 and under admitted free of charge if accompanied by a paying adult.

think someone needs to remember they are now in the top league in the UK so far a poor side
They said that last year it was consistency throughout the team that one the league

Some people still hanging on to the old Elite League, when will people realise that the SGB Premiership is not the old EL, it's quite a step down, hence the 50pt team building limit & massive averages (which will obviously fall to 12pts or below) for people like Chris Holder, Jason Doyle etc, but a step up on the old PL.
In my opinion last years team would have given many in the 2016 version of the top flight a good go for their money.
Spot on Dave . 50pts only for team building it will click with a few soon

up on the rebels site
There will be an early Christmas present for fans of the 'Cases' Somerset Rebels with the news that the full septet for the 2017 season will be announced at a social night to be held at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December.
The event will get underway at 7.30pm, entrance for which will be free of charge, and there will be a limited bar menu available for those attending who wish to purchase food on the night.
"I know a few of our fans were getting a bit impatient regarding news on the team for 2017, but we prefer to ensure that everything is definitely in place before announcing any names," said promoter Debbie Hancock.
"Now that we have reached that stage, we are pleased to be able to confirm that the names of the 7 riders will be revealed at a social event at the Oaktree on Monday 5th December."
"Past team announcement nights have always been an enjoyable occasion, with a good gathering of fans there to hear the news first-hand, so hopefully we will get a good gathering on the 5th as we start what promises to be an exciting new chapter in the history of the club.” -
BSP AGM states "based on Premier League figures, for team building purposes with a 50-point limit for the top division and 40 for the Championship."
for team building purposes with a 50-point limit for the top division
Does this suggest once a team is built something else will take its place

A good addition to the top flight. Given that both Swindon and Somerset shared half the same team I would guess that will be interesting if wanted by both.
Swindon borrowed a few riders

at the start of the season , i personally didnt give somerset a chance of winning the league , let alone the two other meetings, pairs and league cup .
but thanks to jake allen and a revitalsed rohan t . the revels put together an amazing fun and with that their confidence grew and grew .
so well done to them and unlucky for sheffield having to run with guests when injuries kicked in .
with a full side , sheff may have sneaked this on agg . but revels were hot all season long.
sorry for not spending a lot of time on the rebels site , but at this moment in time the borrowers site is far more entertaining. you know what i mean !
one again , well done somerset for an amazing run in speedway ..
off to be sick now .lol.
Jenga carry on like this and you could become a honorary Rebel

I am not going to offer Sheffield commiserations because I think they deserve more than that. Congratulations to Sheffield on being worthy opponents in the PL Grand Final and in being runners up. They certainly were no pushover and can exit 2016 with a lot of credit. Also, thank you to Kyle Howarth who was gracious in defeat and did a lap to applaud the Somerset supporters. It was very much appreciated
Totally agree Kyle was brilliant and very gracious when interviewed top man and got a great reception when he did a lap of honour. Sheffield certainly gave it a go last night and deserved there runners up award in more ways than one. Great performance Sheffield.

Well said Paulco. I have come back on to comment purely in connection with your post. I was at the meeting last night and I had nothing but admiration for the travelling Glasgow "support team". They were well mannered, amiable, resolute and gracious in defeat and complimentary to the victors "support team", alas not like some of the keyboard warriors on here. I am a Speedway fanatic and I will endeavour to watch the sport wherever and whenever it is possible and have been since 1965. You are bound to have partisan fans and people that don't suffer opposition gladly, to them I say we are all of the same mind, we all support and enjoy the same sport have friendly banter and respect each others views and opinions, even if you don't agree. In the meantime enjoy what is left of the 2016 season and whatever it may bring - hopefully a Play Off Final win for Somerset Rebels, if not good luck to the victors be it Glasgow or Sheffield. Ride safe everybody, that includes the "support teams" and see you all somewhere next season. Remember ! Every Dog Has His Day !!! This is my last post on what was my thread anyway !!!
Well said. Total agreement

Well done Somerset , let's stop this nastiness between us on here , there's no history of this kind of thing between us .
Let's hope we can get our chance of revenge in the play off final and there's no talk of doctored tracks , riders putting other riders off , pit crews fighting etc , etc .
We have been the best two teams in the division all season , with Somerset a bit better than us most of the time . If we can get past Sheffield , which wont be easy , lets hope we can produce a final worthy of the prize .
Great post Paulco totally agree.
Like to also say a Tigers supporter at the end, walk around the track shaking every somerset supporters hand that he could congratulating them. Top Man.

But weren't Glasgow in the same boat last week as RR for Lunna made them stronger both at OTA and Ashfield for KO Cup. Bach as supposed 7 pointer could take a 4 pointers ride.

Well done to the rebels , they are a formidable team, unfortunately some of our boys struggled with the track, must have been Rene's worst meeting since joining Glasgow , I honestly think that the rebels have won due to their astute choice of guests, well within the rules and we would have done the same. Congratulations... Shame Bates let himself down with his fisticuffs as he had a superb meeting until then
Tigergirl excellent post true Glasgow supporter.

One average achieved in a top five, the other at reserve with easier rides.
BWD been beating the best this year had a brilliant year been getting 6 rides a meeting not all against reserves.
Like i said in any other team he would be a 2nd string rider. Even when he was at no 2 he was churning out the results just unlucky to be in competition with anther "find" of the season Jake Allen.

I just don't like the system whereby a team weakened by injury becomes probably stronger in some away matches.
win some loose some ; got lucky twice at Glasgow.
-
Scotsman supports Edinburgh we are taking it on the chin the Rebs deserved today plain & simple.
Fair dues Gazc i think its a minority issue and others stirring it.
No gripes against the Glasgow supporters enjoy their company at the OTA.

They would be saying lousy choice of guest / lousy guest!
But as GB said Bates is a top 5 rider / BWD is a reserve.hes
And guests are so often chosen for their prowess at a specific track.
Fed up with reading BWD is a reserve yes he's a reserve with a 5 + average with riders above him with better averages in another team BWD could be a 2nd string rider.
In other teams if their no's 1-5 are out injured they are replaced with a like for like average rider or at home average +5% so why not BWD . Other teams have used these "average rules" to replace riders sometimes to advantage sometimes against.
As a previous post has said if Glasgow had won nothing would have been said.
Take it on the chin like Somerset did at home the other week.
Good Management skills in use here.

now confirmed 3 guest + usual reserve guest
The Rebels will, however, be without 3 of their team, Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright, on Friday night as they are required to ride for Elite League Swindon, whose match at Lakeside the same night takes precedent as, although both matches are re-arranged fixtures, Swindon’s match was re-arranged prior to Somerset’s match at Edinburgh, and in their place Somerset will have 3 guest riders, the Newcastle duo of Ludvig Lindgren and Victor Palovaara together with Workington’s Ricky Wells, whilst Nathan Stoneman will guest at reserve for Somerset in place of the injured Zach Wajtknecht.

from Edinburgh site
The Cases Rebels were, initially, unsure about coming to Scotland on Friday as they will be without some of their riders due to an Elite League fixture at Lakeside but their team manager, Garry May, is now convinced that he can put together a team to do them proud.
Initial thoughts that Glasgow would be the visitors were quickly dashed as they have riders missing that would not have been covered by a facility.
Matches against Glasgow and Peterborough have still to be arranged.
so could be 2 guest and RR

Just confirmed

The recently postponed 'Cases' Somerset Rebels Premier League match away at Edinburgh has been re-arranged for this Friday (16th), the match also 'doubling-up' as the 2nd leg of the Premier Shield contest between the two sides, Somerset holding a 22-point lead from the 1st leg held at the Oaktree Arena courtesy of Somerset's 57-35 Premier League win over the Monarchs.

Think you may have answered your own question "Garry May is normally very astute"
