  1. Just wanted to say that I recently received excellent service from Guy Allott Motorcycles in Buxton. Friendly, helpfully advice from people who are genuinely interested in speedway providing good old fashioned service. Bear them in mind next time you need an engine service etc.

  2. You can try motorise industries, they have a web site. I got mine made to measure and posted to me for £300. They are also on facebook. Quality is not bad for the money, they are just quite hot in the warm weather but I have found them very comfy. They accept PayPal so you have some payment protection.

Don't forget to allow for your body armour etc when taking your measurements.

    Cheers.

  3. I have recently joined the Dragons but rode on a day licence last year, so I assume you can still do this.

Normally you are allocated to group or team of similar riding ability so no one is out of their comfort zone. Not 100% sure about the silencer regs but recommend you speak to Julie Tutton on the number above.

Meetings are very well run and you will be made welcome, always a friendly atmosphere.

    Hope this helps.

  4. It's quite substantial. I use the choke for starting but turn it off immediately the engine is running. I am stripping and cleaning the carb to see if this makes any difference. Have been advised that it may be over fuelling if the floats are not closing off the inlet to the bowl?

    Thanks,

  5. Not entirely sure as I have bought the bike second hand for use in amateur meetings. It is still in its original set up. Stripping the carb is my project for the weekend.

It starts easily and runs fine, but when I drop the oil it is contaminated with fuel. Do you think a smaller jet would help?

    Cheers,

  6. I am experiencing fuel in my engine oil when I drain it out at the end of riding. Will adjusting the float height resolve the problem or is there another issue? It is a Blixt Mk1 carb.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  7. Hello.

Can anyone help with info regarding GM engine block numbers?

Is it possible to identify age or history from the following. It is a BAR engine.

    636/636. A21292

Any info or help greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

  8. Such a shame when we were so close to starting the season.

Lets hope an alternative is found soon and wherever that may be I am sure you will have continued support. I for one appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes so that we have the opportunity to ride our bikes.

Good luck to Russ, Julie and Cookie.
