    Leicester Lions 2015

What do Leicester have in the way of available help in the pits from people with recent experience and knowledge of speedway bikes and tracks (apart from the riders), and how to get the best out of them? This is where having a team manager and/or promoter who can man-manage and knows the mechanical and track side of things, is worth his weight in gold? Who do Leicester have, with anything approaching this skill set?
  2. Avoidance of clashes with Grand Prix dates has been often highlighted in terms of Leicester's fixture planning last season and this. Fair enough, but that's only part of the story. The fact is there are so many opportunities for the "top" riders to have a preferential commitment elsewhere on a Saturday/weekend, and there isn't a lot their clubs can do about it in most instances, especially with those riders who are not based in the UK. The UK-based riders seem to be much better when it comes to fulfilling weekend UK commitments, but only up to a point. So unfortunately, the penny will drop, as it already has with many, that although a forthcoming fixtures at Leicester seem attractive, theres a fair chance the actual "product" will fall short of that. Of course you'll always get some diehards who will show up even if the away team tracks 7 National League guests, but will those numbers be enough in the long run as the "floating" punters get more and more sceptical and spend their money and time on something else.
  3. It could be that he's been told by DH to have a dig at them in public. Norrie Allen = the fall-guy? Was considering going along tonite, just to fritter away £17 or whatever and see for myself if the claims by some on here, that the racing is better now, are really true. But the Elite League, in its so predictable way, has once again produced absent riders who have better things to do on a Saturday, and seriously devalues the product. It makes you wonder how many times "top" riders will have other things to do which are more important, or come down with a "virus" when it comes to showing up at Leicester on a Saturday. It's a bit of a con, aint it?
  4. Or "savour the fine views of the sun setting over Old John whilst enjoying something from our range of fine ales and wines, an experience worth the admission fee alone"
  5. The problem could be lack of communication then!!....an occasional reminder/explanation from the "roving presenter" can't be too onerous a task, including for the benefit of people who are first-timers. Or isn't that allowed?
  6. If Leicester are to be taken as serious playoff contenders, this is a match where they must come away with at least a point. There can't be any "we'll get something next time we ride there"....it's got to start straight away. Won't have a better chance than this.....

Let's hope so they are! But that's yet another commitment he's got on his plate. I make that UK Elite League, Swedish Elitsieren, Polish Ekstraliga, Danish League, Grand Prix, GP Qualifiers, FIM Pairs, World Cup and maybe the occasional individual meeting. Looks like he's gone for the full set and bagged all of them! Just hope his off-track setup's good enough, that he's got enough engines and good and reliable tuners, deep pockets, employers who pay him on time, and more than anything the stamina to match up to those demands throughout 6 months. Woffinden couldn't cope with a schedule last year that was quite a bit less than that. I think Iversen, Holder and Jonsson are riders who come immediately to mind, who have similar commitments levels year - but they've had more experience of doing it whereas this is Jason's first year at that level. Iversen got burned out a couple of times last season when his KL performances dipped (but they recovered until his season ended prematurely). So if Jason Doyle's Leicester performances dip occasionally, it's only to be expected. if they don't, you really can put him in the superhuman catergory!!

Is Jason Doyle going to be competing in the competition for 2016 Grand Prix qualification? Or is he going to give that a miss and rely on finishing in the top 8 in this years actual GP series, to gain his 2016 qualification? (or hope to gain a 2016 wild card if he doesnt get into the top 8). Last year that commitment was quite a nuisance for Leicester.
  9. For all fans of processions, there's another good one happening in Leicester today. Won't set you back £25 though
  10. Get the feeling that even if he re-reads it 100 times it wont make a scrap of difference

Have you been kidnapped by ISIS or something? Or is it a cryptic clue to the identity of the new signing(s)??

Does anyone know if the transfer deal for Jason Doyle has been completed yet? Presumably his work permit was correctly applied for this time, with Leicester named as his sponsors/employers rather than Swindon.......so presumably his transfer had also been settled when the application was made??

    Swindon 2015

Hasn't it been said somewhere on this forum (apologies for the Leicester intrusion - hopefully its brief) - it may have even been by yourself - that Kylmakorpi's long track commitments are incompatible with Leicester's fixtures?

Maybe it will make things more dificult for EL teams where they need to call on PL guests to cover for absent second-strings and sometimes their third heat-leader? Hopefully the UKV&I will deal with the visa re-applications in alphabetical order!

Not a lot they can do if riders are lingering over making decisions. Leicester's just one part of a very large jigsaw puzzle and they cant be forced to sign you know!! And I doubt theres any riders signed up with the local JobCentres being strongly persuaded to sign for Leicester Lions. What about offering your services to DH, and get on a plane to Poland and negotiate a signing?

    Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?

From reading the output on this from various sources, it looks like one of the complaints raised by UKV&I is about situations whereby riders are loaned out by their parent club, where the parent club has acted as the sponsoring employer?? Also doubling up has been mentioned I think. Whatever......what effect could all this have on the transfer value of non-EU riders? Surely a downwards effect? I mention this within the context of a current high-profile transfer saga involving one such rider.

MRCTS, humour is entirely a matter of personal taste. I dont especially like Charlie Hebdo's style of humour but its fine with me if others do. And if anything on here's unacceptable from the moderators' point of view, they'll deal with it. I gave it the best part of three seasons at Leicester (not every week by any means i admit, other things to do etc); that was pretty fair i think, many others didnt stick with it for that long. And once you've gone from something, especially after you've given it a fair crack its very difficult to be persuaded back again. I spend a substantial amount of my small income on other sporting interests, like to go to Owlerton and EOS occasionally, but much as i'd like to, at present cant see me being at BP unless something radical changes. Shame really, because i supported Leicester Lions uphill and downhill during their first incarnation.

For anyone with the disposable income, fine! I am sure that DH will reveal all tomorow in his address to the people. "look, I screwed up big time, its all my fault any nobody else's so it's time for me to come clean and admit i've been talking boll***s for 4 years. During the winter i've had it all ripped up, re-designed and re-layed. Please forgive me, and please those people who have gone away, give me another chance, i beg you." And then i'll wake up.......

If youve got the money to spend on a meeting, spend it on Ricky Ashworths benefit meeting, far more worthwhile way to use your money

....and the main "entertainment" is going to be from the "Management Bulls**t" soon to emanate from BP.....but at least that's free of charge
