So will many of these GP-types who show up, be doing it mainly to test setups and prepare for the real action further ahead? £25 quid (or whatever) to watch a practice session in the cold? I know what I'll be doing (not)!
-
Some aggro between Swindon and Leicester over the staging of a league fixture in 2014, wasn't there? Bit of dummy-spitting carrying on perhaps
-
He's (DH) perfectly entitled to do what he likes. But why not have a thank-you "do" at an hotel like the Marriott for financial backers (and how about the volunteers as well?), maybe have the two English rider lads along? Then hold an open event for anyone at a more basic type venue, maybe charge £2 and provide basic refreshments, Q&A session by DH and Allan, and use it to announce/update rider signings etc and unveil the fixture list. That's also the best chance to get new season ticket holders signed up. Simples!

First one to the prawn sarnies gets a team place
-
They dont want the riff-raff getting in and eating all the prawn sarnies and guzzling the champagne
-
So - access to this exclusive "must do" event could be yours,if you buy a season ticket between now and the 22nd. As a certain satirical magazine calls it... "Desperate Marketing" !!!

I'm getting confused here,,,,,is this a Leicester thread or a Swindon one? Or a combined one?
-
Are Swindon and Leicester merging?
-
Leicester making an application to have Doyle filling two team places (probably 1 and 3). Trying to get full value for the expected transfer fee
-
if he was waiting on the Ward decision to know if Piraterna could give him a team place (and thus avoid having to ride in the UK), he's maybe feeling let down by the FIM for delaying the Ward hearing or by Piraterna if they chose to keep him waiting until after the 30th for their decision(or maybe peeved at both of them).
-
Because he has CONSIDERABLY< CONSIDERABLY more money than YOW
-
Could depend on how much money's left to spend after the transfer deal for Vegemite gets sorted. But i've heard they're in negotiations with Dairylea, Sun-Pat, Heinz Sandwich Spread, and Flora. Should get a tasty team if some of those come off
-
If the statement about Mikkelsen being at no 2 or no 4 is to be believed, the absolute maximum average for the "big" signing is 8.52 i think. Realistically that probably means more like 8.00 - 8.25. So who's available to fit that category? Miedzinski appears to be one such person.
-
I suspect that MK would never considering riding for Leicester whilst the current management is in charge. Also he's probs not all that keen on UK anyway.
-
Well maybe Leicester's Matt Ford wannabe might be persuaded by the real Matt Ford to sell a couple of points, if the price is right! Would help towards the Jason Doyle transfer fee fund.
-
Dont know. Want to donate some of yours?
-
Some do, some don't. Just a question of knowing when its being done. Thats why i dont bother listening/reading most of what politicians come out with!
-
Wouldnt bother wasting your time mate, probably doesnt say anything you've not heard before and it will be carefully controlled (written?) by Hemsley to paint the picture he wants people to see, as usual.
-
He only SAYS there is nothing wrong with it......what he really thinks could be a different matter That would leave up to about 9.00 for the final signing!!
-
In the TV match he couldn't handle the dangerous track, think it was his crash that triggered the revolt by riders and Glyn taking action to make it safer.
-
Forget who posted it a couple of weeks ago - but it was along the lines of DH having a good heat leader lined-up to provide Jason Doyle with better support at home and away than he had last season, somebody who loves riding the BP track.......... So is that guy still going to sign? Or has he made other plans in the meantime?
-
wow this could get me back there again, especially in march/april and september/october
-
Think from recall Swindon did that with Batchelor as a Peterboro asset - had to wait until March to claim him on loan, but i think that was only after Peterboro didn't announce him in their team. Otherwise it would have had to go to arbitration but only if the rider submits an official transfer request and a fee cant be agreed. I'm not surprised that Swindon are wanting Doyle to submit a transfer request!
-
Wasn't there a bit of acrimony between these two clubs during 2014 season, about the match at Leicester that Swindon didn't want to go ahead with? Having so many Swindon assets in the Leicester team wasn't ideal, either, and so it would make sense for Leicester to buy Doyle on a full transfer at the correct going price, and provide Swindon with the money to buy Batchelor or use in other ways as may be needed. Leicester should be able to afford the transfer fee - a quick check of Leicester Speedway Ltd's latest (2013) financial statement shown on Companies House records seems to indicate net assets of about £650,000 - which if correct would probably well above that of most other clubs.
-
Could also be that Leicester will run a couple more times on Thursdays, so potentially more date clashes with his Sheffield commitments, in addition to having quite a few Saturday clashes - not such a problem if he's with an Elite Monday track, so less matches missed = more £ earning - plus seems to do well at BV and of course strong links there from previous stint? Similar possibly applies to explain decision not to choose Bates in the draft?
