Leicester V Wolverhampton 9 Aug
The Observer replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't disagree Wolfie whatsoever with your comments and yes his performances, like with any other rider, should be called into question when delivering perceived under par performances. But to call the guy a "disgrace", I feel, is unfair. -

Leicester were somewhat fortunate IMO. Fantastic tactical ride by Doyle to bring the Lions within 4, but Harris offered very little & Woffy suffered with some bad luck. Had Pawlicki rode then all points would have gone to the Wolves. I find it disappointing that some posters are referring to Woofy as a disgrace, the guy looks absolutely drained and given his schedule, PR work as WC and charity commitments it's hardly surprising. -
Leicester V Eastbourne 14 July
The Observer replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought Lewis always stated he hated the track or was he referring to something/somebody else. Mischief in the making eh! -
Sky must have a roving reporter then because I understand Chris Popple is on a family holiday in Tenby.

Leicester -v- Belle Vue Saturday 5 July 2014
The Observer replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Moving away from the track issues, no-one has mentioned the great move Buzz made in heat 13 to let Doyley through on the inside and for the Lions to gain a 5-1 heat win. -
Newcastle Diamonds V Plymouth Devils 6th July 2014 Pl 6.30pm
The Observer replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If it is Simon Nielsen then he's riding with more confidence again, looking to take the outside line a little more often and enjoying some success from it. He's a trier and finds failure difficult to accept as I understand it. -
Leicester -v- Belle Vue Saturday 5 July 2014
The Observer replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bad track or not, the Lions delivered tonight. Riders 1-6 were on top form and Clegg is gaining in confidence each meeting. Credit has to go to Josh Bates who obviously was under the most pressure of all the riders. -
Allegedly he has something lined up, so you would have thought it would be heavily reduced entry fees. I want the stadium to be shown in a good light and for sky to fully witness the loyal support the Lions have.

Leicester V Swindon Saturday June 21st
The Observer replied to stevethelion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With 3-riders thro' into the GP Final Qualifiers, Krzysztof Buczkowski looking fast, Steady getting better &better, Bates showing what he's capable of and young Clegg gaining experience all the time, finally we have the makings of a team. The revolving door now focuses on the Team Manger himself, with the TR decision being the craziest I have ever known. I don't believe one single Lions Supporter would have given the TR to Hansen. -

The Lions were totally outclassed tonight. What the hell happened to the "heat leaders", with the exception of Bates & Klindt the others simply didn't turn up. Bet DH is having a breakdown. -

As I understand it some of the track staff are going to the concert as well. Time to cancel, me thinks. -

Superb riding by Steady as a guest for the Aces tonight. 10+1 fantastic for his ever growing confidence. -
Leicester V King's Lynn Saturday June 7th
The Observer replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
First of all congratulations to the Reserves, especially Max Clegg. Secondly It's my belief that most of the riders thought the quality of the track surface given the amount of rain we've had recently was excellent. Well done Glyn Taylor. I wonder, given that DH was an extremely successful cycle speedway rider, how similar the BP track design/shape is to the actual sport he really knows most about? In which case that might start to explain a few things. -
Leicester's supporters deserve better from the management. Be honest about the reasons for having to put out so many guests, be honest about who chose the reserves and the rationale behind it. Everyone predicted that the outcome of each match would be determined not by riders 1-5 but by the reserves, therefore why was not more considered thought given to the selection of riders 6 & 7. No one was under any illusions, we all knew that the first season in the EL was going to be tough and it was going to be a question of survival but learning along the way. But the choice of guests in so many meetings whether they be riding at 2, 5, 6 or 7 has been poor too often, with the exception of Sam Masters who has been terrific. Was Marc Owen really the best we could find for Saturday? Was Matt Williamson, on current form, the best we could find for tonight? The answer is NO. So therefore are we simply looking to make up the numbers or are actually seriously determined to score some points in this league Jason Doyle has been exemplary leading from the front like a true No 1, but deep down what the hell must he be thinking?

Will someone PLEASE change the Lions song prior to the start of each meeting. It's certainly not motivational and sounds more like a kids nursery rhyme. -
Anyone know whose in for Howarth?

The Observer replied to Sophies Mate's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You can always expect a lot of loyal Lions fans travelling to away meetings, you'll have some great banter with them tonight. -
Fear the worst unfortunately with the reserves showing their frailties. Comfortable win for Lakeside tonight.

Great to see Peter Ljung giving Max Clegg some gating advice after the meeting. More of this please, encourage the youngsters. -
Leicester V Wolverhampton 29 March
The Observer replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Always expected a Wolves win, but the Lions put in a good performance. Doyle will only improve given that he's been in the UK just 48hrs and that pass from Bomber Harris in Heat 15 was pure class. Very concerned about Tai, wish him well & hope it's not too serious looked bad though. -

All this ranting about the reserves, we need to give these young lads a chance, particularly Max. Tom admitted he'd experienced engine troubles after his first heat last week so we need to cut him some slack as well. The Lions fans got on the back of James Sarjeant all too quickly & look how he's developing. Let's be realistic, the Lions need to consolidate this first season, learn from the experience & build on it for a real stab at the top four in 2015.
