to be honest as much as i dislike matt ford, Poole are there on merit so may the best team over two legs win. the bigger issue is the state of speedway at the top and the severe lack of ideas to take the sport to a bigger audience and stop the farcical events we've had this season. so maybe its time for everyone to pull together to save OUR sport. lets just hope that the heirachy fall on there swords this coming winter and new fresh ideas come into force going forward.
lets hope for a safe and entertaining final

if anybody fancys a bet on this. corals are giving even money on poole +7 points on the handicap. looks big to me... if the rain stays away lol

I don't really know why you picked him up on it in the first instance to be honest. It was clear to me what he meant.
my original comment wasnt having a go at anybody especially hard working people. i was merely stating that theres a bigger issue for loads of people than having to rearrange time off from work for a speedway meeting. well the upside is that today ive been offered a new job after 12 months out. so i can get back to being the hardworking person ive always been and maybe take in a meeting or two on the continent next season, doubt whether it will be over here as 1,my team now doesnt exist, and 2 the sports a complete and utter shambles in the uk.
sorry if my original comment was misconstrued by some.

An awful lot of people, who also worked bloody hard for their jobs, have lost them through no fault of their own
If you think all the people without jobs "deserve" to be without one . . . . . . . . .
I can't think of a suitable response
well said midland red. i wasnt having a pop at working people. im now 48 made redundant after a life tme of working very hard my comment was simply dont moan about something that lots of people would kill for at the moment.

i think the people making comments about work commitments should stop moaning and think there selves lucky they have a job, some of us dont and would love the the quandary and actually being able to afford to go to a meeting. theres bigger issues in life than watching a sport that isnt fan friendly at all. rant over.

I wouldn't rely on that. Yesterday it said today would be fine all day. Clouds now clearing. Big orange thing blazing its heart out now!!! with this wind and sun track will be dry by 7pm. Grrrr angry man
to be honest this rain has been forecast for three days now
-
Really...........funny how its blue skies and sunshine as I look out of my dining room window.............
RP
looks like the forecast was correct after all doesn't it not even matt can change that
-
so what happens now. surely thats not correct that poole automatically go through? if thats the case time to give up watching this farcical sport once and for all
-
If you look at a proper weather forecast its only a 40 % chance of scattered showers all day but the weather can change as we have a low pressure, thus the high winds, 24knots at 220, gusting to 40knots between 9am and 3pm.
so little rain, high winds to dry the track. Meeting on
well thats weather forecasts for you. and as fr the proper weather forecast its from the met office ? anyway lets get thi meeting on and good luck to the stars
-
If Kings Lynn take a 4-2 in heat 1, then it p155es it down and it's called off, do the Stars go through to the final?
dont know the rule on this one tbh.
hoping for a coventry win in the final anyway. strong team.

well just looking at the forecast. rain all day in poole so this wont go ahead, as poole dont have any covers? thats right isnt it?
-
Maybe you should find the Volunteers, and the covers. Not that simple really.. Look at the state of Swindons track. You ask Rosco the same question..
total rubbish. theres plenty of blue rinsers in dorset with nothing else to do, and by the way the track at swindon didnt stop coventry did it
-
Our track prep was not, crap. Had it not pissed down at 4 pm we would have been on. The track was totally flooded after the night befores rain, and it rained all morning untill 1 pm. Then, you still can't touch the track. Tell me what would you do ?
maybe you should have covered it? simple really isnt it

looks like people on here would rather have personal battles than talk about the real issues in the sport

the whole regime at the top of speedway needs changing imo. nobody who owns a club should be able to vot on legislation to that sport. maybe then the conspiracy theorys about poole will go away. the sport needs impartial people at the top for it to progress. until then its going to die a slow death

I get the fact that rain made the track difficult and maybe Poole didn't have the equipment to rectify it in a short timescale, which I can almost forgive.
BUT having ruts/holes before the meeting even started is very unprofessional for a supposedly top Elite League track and the promoters should be met with suitable punishment. I can understand why people think Matt did this on purpose as the Stars stood a good chance of winning on Monday and postponing give Poole a better chance of putting together a winning team.....
its plain to see. i tweeted middlo on Saturday to see if they were going to cover the track. he never replied. we now know why, yet hes quick to reply when hes being attacked on twitter for the abandoned meeting. hes everything thats wrong with british speedway and why its going to the wall. rip elite league speedway in britain
-
I some how dont think Darcy will leave poole unless the ban happens other wise i can just see him staying pure and simple.
probably not but under middlo he will continue to implode.
-
Its still questionable whether we have an Elite league next year, I know the thread is a little premature but what the hell.
i think speedways going to struggle to continue over here oliver. its been farcical this season.
-
you cant sell a broken down car. you can only cut your losses and scrap it.. what a waste of talent. good money after bad, thats darcey ward.
ward is the most talented rider on the planet. but hes an idiot.really needs someone like hancock to take him under his wing and calm him down. otherwise he will just disapear.maybe a move of club would be ideal. middlo cant handle him and just burs his head in the sand to his issues it seems. certainly doesnt help the kid
-
may not even be an elite league the way its going tbh. the whole organisation is an utter shambles. unless its stripped back to the bare bones . totally rejigged and no influential characters allowed in rule making areas its going to the wall. enjoy it while it lasts.

Can Poole change guests for Thursdays meeting?
Kildemand rather than Cook?
gotta be the same line up i presume
-
Probably the first time if she's your girlfriend.
funniest thing ive seen on here pmsl

not only did matt organise the weather but it also seems gary has done the same at swindon
no matt just didnt organse the track covers
Its pouring down in Poole now
strange that bbc weather saying its overcast but dry
-
the sport in this country has become a complete shambles. rotten to the core. be lucky to have an elite league next season
Why did I join this forum?
A team cancel due to rain and safety which is understandable when there is a crater in the track and people come and bad mouth the promotion?
Surely the riders know when it is safe and not these crazy opinions.
In disbelief.because they patently didnt want this meeting to go ahead. stinks to high heaven
