  1. Yeah, The lad is a cert. for the WC IMO. Are we watching a future Tai? Def. so. can he get a go Cardiff as a taster. Will he gain some confidence points there ready for the WC? It is all there to ride for if the lad has what it takes. Thought Kenni Larsen would have been at the top by now, so nothing is certain, by any means, but Robert, I think, is the real deal to become the next Newcastle rider to make it big on the World stage. Fingers well and truly double-crossed.
  2. Aye, I had it on as a nailed on cert. that Sky would have been after a Newcastle meeting just to have Lambert on the telly. Now that Stevie is in the frame for GB callup, it should have been a no-brainer, but it looks unlikely given these two PL fixtures. Picked on on track talent or behind the scenes greasey palms remains to be seen?
  3. Easier to chuck out Bill Hill and his dog s**t sport than to find such an area around here.
  4. But would have saved on the prep time track wise, catering, stadium staffing not to mention the bus fares, petrol etc. The weather prediction was a 60% chance of rain by 1700 rising to 100% by 2000hrs. Hardly rocket science that the meeting's chances of completion were minimal at best. Add to that the potential risk to riders being washed out and or injured. I suspect that had we raced at home last week then this would have been pulled far earlier. It was just an forlorn hope to try and give the fans some home speedway and welcome back the lads who shone so brilliantly in the British Final last Monday.
  5. Cant really understand why it was left this late. Weather forecasted arrived as predicted, rarely do they get it wrong nowadays.
  6. Now raining here- about a mile from Brough. Witchcraft is suspected .
  7. Still dry atm. but def. becoming overcast.
  8. Had the boot been on the other foot, it is doubtful that Haverlock senior would have been so accommodating even it this is the case IMO.
  9. Any news on guests now that Seb Alden is injured?
  10. If that is the case, then the real farce is our management agreeing to a fixture which has clearly been suggested by the wiley Mr Haverlock deliberately to take advantage of a weakened Diamonds side. I hope we bring in s**t hot guests and grind Redcar into the dirt.
  11. Team lists on the Newcastle home match thread.
  12. Only if me bacon buttie comes to me flight capable!
  13. Hell of a fuffing result, and moving on. Come on Sunday night, Yeah!
  14. Absolutely typical for the Newcastle forum. We win, and we win well, and this forum is dead with few posts. Had we lost however, the trolls would have been weaving their evil magic for all their sad worth. This was a good performance from a weakened team, and with some George 'magic' maybe we can fulfil the 'promise' if Tero can be effectively replaced. Rosen would seemingly be the 'safe bet' but perchance has Mr Kus flagged as an yet unknown Czechmate to add to our fold.
  15. Good entertainment and more one-sided than I expected. You almost want Robert {Bob?} Lambert to miss the start, just to see one of his passing moves.
  16. Not too shabby on the smaller technical tracks either as his performance at the Henry testimonial showed.
  17. Hopefully I have not missed a thread buried somewhere else. Strangely silent on here re. the testy for who was a regular and well liked servant of Newcastle speedway. Any further news on this Sundays meeting from the Diamonds faithful would be welcome just to keep the event in the light of day?
  18. So Lambert does a 'Bach' and loses first place. Is there any person [sane speedway fan-obviously] who does not believe that the best U21 rider in this country did not win his championship? Oh well, there is the 'Full' champion honours of Brit champion, EL Champ, PL champ and Gp qualifier still up for grabs and not forgetting a World cup team place. All the previous are up for the taking for all the placers at Owlerton tonight, but realistically, only one of those riders is truly fancied in any real way and it sure aint Bates- not yet anyway.
  19. Now there's a thought- and not a good one-fingers crossed!
  20. Any courtesy of the weather our first match is a home one. Lambert supposedly missing the Worky meeting is not a good portent for the future, but heyho, if he wins us all the ones he rides in then so be it. If Richie is on standby when available we may have the best of both worlds and poss. on to good thing if and when young Lambert's average allows us a choice pick of guests.

    Newcastle 2016

Kus has always come across as a genuine guy always willing to sign autographs at Brough. Even after a very mediocre performance in which he thought was prob. his last meeting at Brough, he still had time to sign his picture for fans. Cant help but think that his Redcar demeanour was fuelled by management interference and a lack of trust from all parties. Since our Promoters have a history of loyalty to riders who actually try, it seems reasonable to believe that we should see a Berwick like version of Kus. Maybe even the form which won him the Czech GP wild card of 2012ish? Here's hoping.
