  1. You should be o.k. Might be the odd shower later this afternoon but the Leicester track drains well. I think that we have only had a couple of matches postponed since we reopened.

By way of interest, according to my reckoning, Leicester is the 8th longest track in the UK and the 9th fastest. Sheffield is the fastest followed by Kings Lynn & then Workington. All figures calculated on the info in the Speedway Star's pre season issue.
  3. I fear it will all depend on how well the Lion's reserves do.

I have been trying to find something positive to say about Saturday's meeting. The only good thing from the Lions side was Jason Doyle's 15 point max., You can count the number of full maximums that Leicester riders have scored since speedway returned on the fingers of one hand. I think that he will turn out to be a genuine Elite League number 1. The only problem will be that, when the management come to change the team, as I am sure they will, his average will reduce the options available for a replacement. As far as the reserves are concerned the minimum required from them in each match is 12 points between them. Will Lewis Blackbird will get that number by himself for Eastbourne next Saturday?
  6. I hope that the Leicester promoter has explained the importance of this and the return match on Saturday to the Leicester Riders! It doesn't matter to me if Leicester do not win any other matches this season as long as they beat the Bees! I well remember as a lad in the 1950's catching a double decker Leicester City Transport bus (one of about 12) to Brandon on a Saturday night and buying hot dogs (with onions) from the man at the back of the banking on the 3rd bend. Delicious! Even more delicious if the Hunters (as they were then) won.
  7. I agree that the meeting was well run - took just 90 minutes (but no interval) but thought the presentation could have been better. E.g. presenter only started introducing Leicester team as they left the track and no explanation of how the National Trophy competition works or what teams are in it. I was pleased to see Max have a good win in the fastest ride of the match.

Sorry - the link does not work and the comments seem to have been removed from the City Council's web site.
