I have been following speedway for 35 years and Kurtz is the best prospect I have seen for his age since Per Jonnsson.
A very mature rider who rides with his head and way beyond the age of a 17 year kid. He will be a top, top rider
Yeah the ref rushed through the early heats, why on earth did they have an interval after heat 12 and the tractors come out for 10 minutes with rain in the air??. They could have easily completed heat 15 if they just ran straight through, ridiculous decision! This denied what was a a good crowd, on a damp night, an extra heat.
I have not been to many meetings since Reading closed in 2008 (Cardiff annually apart), having been a regular at Smallmead for 30 plus years.
I recently moved to East Devon and now have the chance to attend the Oak tree most Friday's, I have always found the race track a fair and well prepared cicrcuit as a visiting fan. I suppose I am now an adopted 'Rebel' and intend to make most weeks.
Without wanting to put too much pressure on a 17 year lad I have to say that was one of the most impressive debuts I have seen from Brady Kurtz . He was super quick, rode very sensible lines and showed a very mature head. His pass in heat 15 was awesome and it will be a treat watching him each week. I am sure he will have ups and downs but what a prospect.
The Rebels team looks solid enough and the Wright/Starke pairing look particualry strong at reserve.
Anyway thats my first post and I look forward to a return to speedway after a 6 year absence.
