Fantastic news welcome back Eastbourne to the middle tier of racing. I remember by visits fondly from the 90’s ( well actually i was always in a foul mood as my team invariably got stuffed!). Great news for speedway that the club feel confident enough to step up.
-
Going with 2 x 2.0 reserves would be a mistake to me - you need one reserve who at least can challenge the oppositions 2nd strings.
-
I think that team would leave around 3.5 points left for the two reserves!! There must be a couple of 4 point Aussies coming or Gary May has something else up his sleeve! Im quite happy with Schlein he could do an Olly Allen type role from 2014.
-
I don’t think Lawson has much value on a 9 point average. There is better around on much lower averages such as Ellis and Charles it would make us very top heavy.
-
A decent start Adam Ellis to follow maybe ? It’s a shame if Charles isn’t returning.
-
That’s the impact of a downgraded CL at a 38 points limit. It’s almost like a blend of championship and national league now.
-
I doubt it as he’s a Somerset asset
-
Getting a balanced team on a 38 point team limit is very tricky and the Rebels won’t be able to fit in everyone. Assuming the averages are as per the last CL listed on the SGB website: 1 Charles 7.88 2 Berge 5.03 3 Klindt 6.94 or Covatti 6.56 4 Coty Garcia 4.47 5 Jake 7.37 6 Nicol 4 (unlikely to get him) 7 2.0 Total 37.69 I’d love BWD as well but that would make us very weak at reserve. Some tough decisions to be made!
-
Not too fussed about us dropping down, the racing wasn’t any better in the top league. I hope we revert back to Friday’s it’s not been the same on a Weds - it’s not as if many away fans will be visting considering most tracks are up North!
-
Assuming a top league and a 42.5 pts limit again - in fantasy fashion! 1. Doyle 2. BWD/Covatti 3. C Holder 4. C Wright 5. J Holder 6. J Allen 7. 3.33/3.85 or Bellego for C Holder and Covatti at reserve with Jake

Kings Lynn v Poole Playoff Final 2nd leg 10/10/18
RebelDan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congrats to Poole but they have been incredibly lucky over both the semi and final. Everything fell into place for the Pirates. Rotten luck on KL if they had Iversen and MPT I am sure the result would have been different. -

A complete anti climax and borefest so far -
Poole v King’s Lynn Premiership Grand Final 1st leg 08/10/18

Poole had 8 riders tonight the ref was a complete homer and made a mockery of the grand final. Seriously how could you exclude MPT in heat 12 - what a farce. -
Poole v King’s Lynn Premiership Grand Final 1st leg 08/10/18

Q- if Iversen got injured first (before Kurtz) and KL had already booked Eliis for Monday, would this have stopped Poole booking him for Weds ? As a neutral I think Poole are massively advantaged with the guest situation as Iversen will be missed more by KL than Kurtz for Poole. -

Poole v King’s Lynn Premiership Grand Final 1st leg 08/10/18

A narrow home win for me and Lynn to coast the 2nd leg - they’ve comfortably been the best side all season and would be deserving winners. However it’s the playoffs and anything can happen ! -
Doyle,Holder, BWD, Allen, Covatti plus 2 others who fit depending on the league structure/points limit. I think we need another heat leader to replace Lawson, he’s been a good servant to the club but I think both parties would benefit from a change.

Poole Vs Someset Play off semi Final 2nd Leg 01/10/18
RebelDan replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Gutted. The 4 Rebels were magnificent tonight and the IRR cost us dearly the Pirates got 6+1 for Kurtz 3 rides and the Rebels got 4 from 4 got for Holder. I can’t help think if we had a full 1-7 we would have walked it Congrats to Poole and a great ride by bomber -

Sadly I see a comfortable home win, neither Lawson or Covatti are in good form. 53-37 , I hope I’m wrong though ! I think whoever wins will lose to KL -
Somerset v Poole. Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg. 17/9/18
RebelDan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We will see - I guess it will an upset if the Pirates don’t make it now but the Rebels won’t throw in the towel. Lawson chose the biggest nignt of the season to have an off night. -

A gentle reminder to the minority of the cocksure Poole fans - Somerset have already won at Poole this season ....... -
Somerset v Kings Lynn Tuesday September 4th
RebelDan replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A very average meeting tonight on a one line track. KL will be a totally different team if they meet again at the OTA. I couldn’t see any obvious signs of Doyle’s injury tonight - he won heat 6 by half a straight! Bradders rode well after last night as did Jake and Aaron. A decent crowd for a Tuesday as well. -

The meeting Tuesday is now effectively a dead rubber after the Rebels defeat tonight. Strange decision Doyle not coming out in heat 15 there must be a valid reason. -

RebelDan replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think this will be a really tight meeting maybe 47-43 either way. Let’s hope for some cracking racing. Morris was v average in the pairs so let’s see what Tungste does.
