was with you all the way there mate, until the last 5 words. :t:

See what you mean but the beginning of April is I think Easter of next year which means ( fingers crossed  there may be some sort of reduction in covid cases which I doubt until we get a covid jab like the flu 1 we have ) but the government will want to see the Easter bank holiday up & running to help boost the economy as it's going to be a hard owld slog from now on

  2. Well this seems to be another VIRUS that's being labelled very dangerous ( it may be ) but to be fair nee body has a clue about it really as it just hoys a different symptom out every time !! It could be sote limbs loss of taste & smell etc.. so the best way to avoid it is probably common sense which all politicians seem to be lacking at the moment.. my prediction is they will open up come december the 2nd/3rd to get the shops booming for Xmas & then do another lockdown mid to late january for a few weeks the come Easter which I think is the beginning of April 2021 everything will be open again

quote from ty proctor in this week's speedway star, What is your most memorable meeting you have been involved in ? The night we won the 1st trophy of our treble at Workington  he must have a soft spot for the comets especially after some of the dummy spitting out antics at times !! But as they say H18tory  :D

When he's in the mood he's easily a 9 point rider in the championship & a 5 to 6 pointer in the prem.. But as you say his dummy comes out quite a lot.. but the talent is there no doubt

There are no other unpaid unsecured creditors you have had that from the horses mouth.. If there were still issues the liquidators would deem RG an unfit director and he would be prevented from running the new venture... there is a mountain of case law on this and the issue is more technical than you may appreciate...

That's why the issue has to be with VAT and you only pay the difference on your purchases and sales so very simply put if I was a taxi driver and put 60 quid of juice in my vehicle 10 quid of that is VAT what I have paid... so I take 5 people x 12 quid in fares and that equates to 50 quid for me and 10 quid VAT so I dont pay the VAT man anything... now I take another 5 fares at 12 quid and the VAT man now wants 10 quid off me and this keeps rolling on...

Now look at all the items that attract VAT at the Speedway... like Sponsorship... Season Tickets... Gate Money... Shop Sales... Car Park Money and any other revenue that the club gets (except a zero rated match day magazine) and off set them against any outgoings.... VAT registered riders wages... fuels... plant maintenance and equipment... shale and track costs and any other expenditure (like producing a match day magazine) that the club needs to pay out and there are more examples on both sides of the equation... however you invariably end up with a positive towards the VAT man....

I am being a bit simplistic here but it is basically the mechanics of the thing...

They (HMRC) are going back to 2013 apparently and I will bet anything you want that this is the issue and I don't know for sure what the figures are but many small businesses on similar turnovers can rack up between 3 to 8 grand a quarter so a VAT bill of 12 to 32k per annum...

So take the mid point of that lot and 6 x 24k comes out at 144k and if my fag packet figures are correct then HMRC will be interviewing people...

Rest assured and you can take that to the bank Tax Free...

Newcastle Speedway get green light for 2021.
After a very challenging and stressful 2020, with numerous issues going on behind the scenes, including an HMRC investigation from the period before the new managements took over, which ultimately gave sole director Rob Grant no other alternative but to appoint an insolvency practitioners company to wind up the company that operated the Newcastle Diamonds speedway team.
After plenty of discussions, and sorting various issues out with the liquidation officer, Greg Whitehead of Northpoint Insolvency Practitioners, club owner Rob Grant can, with relief, confirm Newcastle Diamonds will take to the track at the Newcastle stadium in 2021 trading under a new company, NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS LTD.
Grant added: "This certainly has been a rollercoaster of a year and we haven't even turned a wheel in anger. The challenging times we have just gone through have, at times, given myself a bit of a reality check, but I'm committed and enthusiastic as ever to ensure Newcastle Speedway continues.
"I am the sole director of the new company and I want everyone to know that I'm raring to get this show on the road.
"The new company will honour the benefits of the season tickets purchased as well as all the fantastic sponsorship packages we obtained earlier this year for 2021.
"I can't thank you all enough for your support and look forward to seeing you all next season."

    Never in doubt

Very sad to hear about the apparent demise of Newspeed 2003 Ltd and particularly if , as alleged, there are unpaid sums due to riders. That doesn't sound like the Diamonds promotion who I always believed had a reputation for paying riders on time.

What I find concerning is the question over who does the bond held by SCB belong to? If it belongs to Newspeed 2003 Ltd, then presumably it will be available to pay off creditors? Which leads to the question, will Rob's new company have to make a formal application to SCB and stump up some more money for a new bond assuming the application is accepted?

I'm surprised that Rob did not start with a new company and simply purchase the assets from Newspeed 2003 Ltd that he needed to avoid any skeletons in the cupboard appearing. Maybe there was a good reason for that, and perhaps it was related to the SCB bond.

Personally I don't believe the former directors should have anything to worry about unless someone proves that they have withdrawn funds/value for their own personal benefit without accounting for tax and NI.To the best of my knowledge these matters are normally dealt with under civil rules rather than criminal, hence any talk of jail sentences is really a total nonsense!

Former jockey served a prison term 366 days for the same carry on

Sorry if it was't you, but you and Alan are or were very friendly with Kenny so who else could it be, Pleased you have agreed we had a free hand and operated without any influence. We didn't want it, and just got on and did a great job so it's sad that others would try and say otherwise for their own reasons..

I get on with a lot of folk dave but I don't carry or tell tales as you know.. I say it to the face as I hate having things building up inside of me.. & there's been a heck of a lot of 2 faced people telling tales at Newcastle speedway for quite a while & ,why can't they just say it how it is rather than telling tales & getting others involved

But you know that you could not have said to Kenny that the promotion interfered in amy way with what we were doing. It wold be telling lies if say you and Alan P said that to Kenny.

Why me & Alan ? But I would say apart from Alan hedley what he donated to our fund raising night at the blue flames was fantastic  & when he & george came to our meeting 1 night that's all that george did do he never really botherd with us on speedway race nights ( but that's not a dig ) as he must have been in the zone but as I said we did offer for others to take it on but nee 1 wanted it... I have even told Rob that I will run buses if & when we get going next season & beyond covid permitting

The fall of the Supporters `Club was when I left,  having spent three years doing what I had to do to help the club out, and no-one was particularly keen to keep it going.

Dave I wouldn't say fall more like let down by certain people.. which cost the supporters club a fair bit of money ! As when the fixtures for Newcastle united were announced in the CHAMPIONSHIP & the 1st game was v Fulham we were let down by certain people & probably about a dozen of them at the time & then me jim julie & the rest of the committee thought well what's the point of carrying on.. so we decided to carry on for another few months but with other things like health & work commitments it was decided to call it a day & we did put appeals out for new members to take it on but there was not 1 person came forward.. which was a shame as me & jim were prepared to help them on there way

    Honestly

You couldn't make this up.... NEWSPEED 2003 LTD the company behind your beloved Speedway team Newcastle Diamonds are going into Liquidation

Yep that's right liquidation; I bet when Rob Grant bought out the club from the old promotion he didn't reckon on this "Pan of Pony"

As a sponsor I have had the heads up and I was asked what I wanted to do with regard to my sponsorship monies I have paid and I have (of course) just asked to "let it ride" for the next season we run as Rob has apparently started a new company called Newcastle Diamonds Limited...

I would assume this offer will be the same for season ticket holders who will be offered either their cash back as a refund or given the opportunity to let them role over for the next full season we have; with not only the new promotion but a whole new company. More on this later...

It is the Liquidators duty and role to look after creditors of the old business and a report will be going into the London Gazette (I think its called) which identifies the company and the reasons as to why they have been liquidated' and what happens next.

Now I cant go into to much detail yet as everyone is being diplomatic and not giving much away when I have asked for further information and there are of course the "Libel Laws" to consider; however it would appear that in the operating and day to day running of the club it was brought to Rob's attention that there was a bit of an anomaly (so to speak) in the previous accounts and HMRC wanted a word.

When this "anomaly" was explained to the new owner he had no other option but to fold the old business to protect himself and his good name; however I am expecting certain people to be interviewed from our friends at HMRC and possibly under caution...

You can see the NEWSPEED 2003 LTD accounts on line on the Companies House web site...

I am certainly not a happy chappie for various reasons but I bet Rob Grant is bouncing... So remember the old tag line and in "whom" we were asked to put our trust in... looks like they have left an absolute mess financially.

But never mind I have the fullest confidence in Rob and his team to pull this around but after all the rhetoric from the previous promotion it certainly leaves a bad taste in the mouth that's for sure... and especially after I was called worse than a pick-pocket by one or two of them and their cronies only for 1. to be not only proved right to what I was saying but 2. totally exonerated after pumping thousands into their pockets when I thought I was helping the club it looks like I have been funding other things not always speedway related. What a shower

I for one am totally behind Grant and his new regime; its a breath of fresh air compared to the previous lot...

Its maybe a good thing that swear words aren't allowed on here as the whole post would have been redacted...

Once again it looks like I am the harbinger of doom and gloom however its isn't that bad for the club as a whole as Rob Grant is doing an awful lot of positive work behind the scenes.. "What for" I am not sure but fair play to the new promotion for sticking with it as they could have just pulled up sticks and walked away cutting their losses...

    Regards

Wow & we thought covid 19 was bad !! HMRC is worse especially when they'll want there cut or 2 from none payment...

    Aye ya reet ruff

It is a worry as we are now 6 month down the line & it looks as tho covid is going to get back to if not worse than the springtime high & with the winter looming it may take longer to get some sort of control on it !! So we will just have to keep everything crossed for a healthy 2021 & hope the powers that be can get some sort of vaccine to keep it at bay as I reckon it's here to stay

Dunno how they would've done, but was really looking forward to see what they could have done. Hopefully these covid restrictions are kicked into touch for next year, but a won't be holding me breath.

It was good to see Rob Lambert pick up the Euro Title this year, but its gonna be a big challenge to see if everyman and his dog can evolve into the new normal?

Fair point on spelling,  but your post is still just a waste of space, try and think of something useful or informative rather than just childish drivel, there’s too much of that already on this site.

You could always try another site or night college !! Might help with the spelling........errors

  15. So as it's now the 1st week of October who thinks that the team we would have started with and also goes into next season COVID permitting would have done this season ?? I reckon injury free we would have a very decent 6&7 all season & I think james & Connor would have got into the 1 to 5 & stayed there
