So I see, but coming from the south east it's similar to London or any other European city so have found a couple reasonable deals, but they are based on 2 night's hence not really wanting to stay in Glasgow although will spend the day there Friday to see the sights

Thanks, I'll have to have a think about it, really wanted to stay in Edinburgh both night's but will perhaps look into staying in Glasgow

Appreciate the info Gazc, 10 minutes seems ok, +1 hour from Glasgow to Edinburgh, and thanks for the message
It will be Friday 1st June v Scunthorpe, I will message you a bit nearer the time
The cab querie was getting a taxi from Ashfield back to Edinburgh if no trains were unavailable
Coming to the speedway was not my reason to come to Scotland, but would love to catch a meeting while I'm there

4 minutes ago, Fromafar said:Being from the East I would suggest staying in Glasgow on the Friday after speedway,as you would take while to get back to Edinburgh on public transport.Bus and train required just to get back to Edinburgh not taking into account where you are staying in Edinburgh.Good 2 hrs travelling at least IMO .
Thanks for that, I've not booked a hotel yet but was looking in Edinburgh old town centre so wouldn't be too far from Waverley, would a taxi be ridiculously expensive?
How easy is it to get from Ashfield to Queen Street station?

A little help required if you don't mind
To cut a long story short, my 10 year old lad, when given the choice of a few days away with his old man, and told he could pick anywhere in reason to go, has chosen Scotland
End of May/Start of June, so a quick look at the fixtures show me Glasgow are riding at home against Scunthorpe, I will be flying up to Edinburgh on the Thursday so will be completely reliant on public transport. Is it a fairly easy thing to get from the speedway back to Edinburgh after the meeting, baring in mind I have a youngish kid with me?
Or would it be better to get accommodation in Glasgow for the Friday night?
Thanks in advance

38 minutes ago, Daniel Smith said:That's my point, those at the stadium know nothing of Doyle's injuries like the rest of us. They have no right like people on social media saying he's only got concussion. The facts at the moment is nobody has a clue. So just wait from an official press release or Doyle himself. Everything else mention IS just speculation.
The man himself has tweeted to say he is ok

Max Fricke riding as no 8 which presumably means he takes the rides of Drodz at 2
hard to believe Drodz would be in the team over Fricke in the first place unless its a polish rider ruling

Just tried again on my Wizja tv kodi account and all channels are working (N sport Eleven sports polsat) etc
i took a year subscription after my 3 month trial ran out in july/august so was gutted to read it had gone, but its back....for now

Premier sports saying their coverage of Polish speedway starts April 8th which is a Sunday, does that mean they will be showing live polish speedway every Sunday?, would be great to have English commentary, even better If the show both matches, will end the need for polish subscriptions and links

I have installed goldvod.tv on my kodi box but the options for buying a membership are basically diabolical. Bitcoin, and unheard of dodgy sounding sites where I wouldn’t risk anything. It says it takes ebay gift money but I don’t know how that works. Can someone who has done it put it down in simple steps with links?
Widja takes paypal. Couldn’t be simpler.
my subscription is still valid as i paid for a year
none of the channels were working when i tried at the weekend, not even eleven sports or polsat

Belle Vue -6 (after heat 8) and Cook over 10 for me, no tactical rides for Swindon
good to have speedway betting back, been a long winter

Early to say with so many teams still to announce their line ups but on paper that team could win the league in my opinion
Great signing pulling Doyle off as number 1, well done to all at the OTA

I met Nick Agertoft in Horsens, he's only 15 (16 in March) he is desperate to try a few tracks in uk
any ideas on how he can get some track time?
-
Hope its Zmarslik, would be good to see him in uk

Far from over this series, Lebedevs was on great form early rounds but he's not on such good form now, Milik and Laguta still in with a big chance
Can see one of them winning tonight, just not sure if by enough points

I would agree that from a fan point of view then a Raiders team is a great idea but sadly I suspect most of us have seen how few of our fellow fans will watch a Premiership/Championship team and also watch a National League team at the same track on a regular basis. I have seen the size of crowds over the years at National League meetings at tracks that have a team in one of the higher leagues and with that knowledge I can understand why promoters do not want to run two teams at many tracks. What is needed is fixture lists that give a full programme of fixtures in the league of choice then tracks could run a full programme with just one team.
Rye House has been the track I have visited the most in the last year and this season they ran/planned home meetings as follows:-
April - 4 Saturday night
May- 2 Saturday night (1 rained off), 1 Bank Holiday afternoon, 1 Junior on a Sunday afternoon
June - 1 Wednesday night, 1 Junior on a Sunday afternoon
July - 1 Saturday night
August - 4 Wednesday night (2 rained off), 1 Saturday night, 1 Bank Holiday night, 1 Tuesday night
September - 1 Friday night, 1 Monday night
Just shows how uneven a fixture list Rye House landed up with. Two senior meetings in two months during the middle of the season with four meetings in eight days at the end of the season. I would agree a Raiders side could have filled some of the blank dates but would they have broken even, let alone made a small profit? The questions we really need to find an answers to are how does a track run a season with regular meetings that will be supported by the fans? Are we willing to have a meeting once a fortnight or do we want weekly meetings? Do we want to watch racing in two leagues or will we only support the team in the higher league?
Personally, I am happy to watch racing in all three leagues given the chance but find weekday meetings much easier to attend due to other committments at weekends.
I attended every meeting that was on a Saturday but can't make weekdays meetings due to time restraints/work. I felt a bit short changed after supporting them every week until about June, then only seeing 1 more meeting
How were the crowds for the weekday meetings, anything like the Saturday crowds?
If I'm honest I wouldn't travel to Rye to watch National league with both Kent and Lakeside closer

Lublin causing a few shocks here considering they were +14 on the handicap

Fair enough if you had more on Worrall.
Out of interest what would have happened if I had withdrawn all money from account this morning. Would they have put account into negative figures?
was wondering the same, they settled my Worrall bet before they took away the Bewley one, I hadn't mentioned they got that wrong but they obviously noticed when they were re checking the scores, if I had been quick I could have withdrawn my whole balance before they reclaimed their bewley money
don't suppose there is anything they could do bar deduct it next time you put money in
-
Thanks a lot for that, thats a lot of us that have had money took off us now!!!!!
Sorry about that, only fair that bets are settled correctly though, Worrall was 13/2
-
I bet on Worrall exactly 7 and Bewley over 8
They settled the Bewley bet as a winner and the Worrall bet as a loser
Just been on to them and they've changed it now

Got to say Lukas Fienhage has gonly mostly unnoticed by me until tonight, looks good, got to say i like this track as well
shame Lambert hasn't got off to the best of starts but hope Max Fricke wins, a lot to ask and a big heat 8 coming up, he seems a nice lad and is riding all 3 big leagues, hope he doesn't drop Britain next year
