Glad yous enjoyed your night. Hopefully see yous all back again in the near future. Not sure Ed the monarch will be back over to visit after being chased away by the German shepherd :D

He’s only a little puppy at the moment, when I bring him back next year he will be fully grown and looking out for your mascot.  :)

r/r lost to Nicholls, Batchelor & Starke, so with a fit Worrall you'd maybe hope for 1 or 2 extra points gained, but on the whole r/r did a fair job for the Monarchs!

It seems forgotten that kent were without Mulford at no 7 who would have been more than capable of taking points off Edinburgh reserves and Lawson.

Where do you get 14 points from? Kent have 2.78 points plus the average of the replaced rider to use for changes, while Troy Batchelor’s converted average would be 11.10.

Kent have to replace Hurry & Bacon. Hurry is on 5.72 & Bacon 5.14, plus the points to play with. So Troy on 11.10 would leave a bit for a reserve rider. Cant see it being Troy though.

I am actually the centre green presenter at Kent, although due to local covid restrictions we are very limited to what we can do.  This season has been limited to a pre match coin toss, and post match interviews.

In the past we have done interviews during the meeting but as you ve heard yourself the sound system is not the best. And its pretty pointless interviewing anyone whilst tractors are out as well.

As for Glenn in the box, (when you are stood somewhere you can hear clearly...) there aren't many people better at getting all the relevant info out there, whilst dealing with all the refs commands as Glenn (and indeed his mentor Derek).  I think people would genuinely be shocked at how much goes on in the box, frankly anyone who does that job has my undivided respect.

Its fair to say the quality of the sound system has been a thorn in the side of the speedway since day 1, but i do know they ve had various sound engineers in over the years. So whilst there has only been minor improvements, that isn't through the lack of trying.

I don't know for certain, but knowing we have a very tight curfew due to noise concerns from a couple of the neighbours, I imagine that has prevented them just plonking a couple of huge speakers on the greyhound track.

Really great to read your various posts on the meeting and the stadium. I will share them with the club management, as when someone highlights all the positives that are happening you'd like to think they will take on board the constructive criticisms as well as the compliments.

As for the crowd being quiet, despite air horns and the like being banned, I ve never heard us described as being quiet before. But I speak to many of my mates and many are still in awe of the speed, skill, and ruthlessness the step up in leagues has provided.

Many fans are still getting their heads around the fact that the Poole Pirates are actually at Central Park.

Nice to see soo many Poole fans, and getting to interview Midlo was an unexpected surprise.

Steve has a good point about the crowd being quiet. This has never been the case in the past but this season for some reason riders are going straight back to the pits rather than back past the stand, it leaves the supporters extremely frustrated that they cannot show their appreciation of the racing & it leaves to (as Steve said) tepid hand clapping.

Paul Hurry has been riding grass track at the highest level every year as long as I can remember.  He was a top Speedway performer at Arena Essex

and was a big favourite there.  But he suffered some horrific injuries and it ia a credit to him that he wants to carry on racing. When the Kings lost Nico

Covatti and no surplus riders anywhere, he stepped into the breach.  I'm not certain, but I think he lives very close to the track. He has had a few very

poor meetings this year, but in the last couple of weeks has started to look like the rider he once was.  He has always been. favourite of mine and I

really hope he gets better and better.

Have to agree with you. He puts an amazing amount effort & commitment in to his racing & it would be good to see him get the points he deserves.

My point was that basically there's nothing on at Leicester on Saturday night because Kent signed a rider who has put his "TV Career" ahead of his speedway one... the exact reason why he's not signed back at Leicester ironically.

Scott has not put his tv career ahead of his speedway one, he is riding champ & prem leagues same as he has done for years. All he has done is change clubs to accommodate his other job as a tv pundit.

Anyway, why on earth would Leicester think Kent would choose to go to a track without their No 1 rider & track specialist!?

I agree with Richard Weston.  Mulford should be given every opportunity.  I was told that at Scunthorpe he went in one race from last

to first only to make a big error in the last bend and they all came back by him. I did not see it personally, can anyone confirm that ?

That is not correct, he was on the pace and challenging 3/4th in all his races but didn't lead a race.

Nobody would notice if we forgot about the 0.26 difference!!!! :D

:) Not sure when the averages change again but if Hurry has done enough matches to have a revised average I'm sure we will fit Auty in easily. (If he will still be available)

Where do Kent go ,now that Andersen has signed for Berwick?

How many points have they got to play with?

With meetings coming up at Redcar and Poole...they need someone!!!

I think Kent have 7.22 to play with, Bacon 5.28 & 1.94 under the limit.  Shame Auty is on 7.48!

NL riders could do with 30 matches a year to improve but NL clubs (except Mildenhall) only want to race 12 matches a year!

How good would it be if there was a fully functional speedway track available with a promoter willing to put on regular meetings for the NL riders, rising stars etc to practice against each other & improve their skills.  Sure the BSPL would be massively in favour of that seeing as there are so few meetings in the NL.

It was a struggle for the Kings, very much hampered by the loss of Tom in his first heat, but you have some talented youngsters and I was impressed with young Jake. Glasgow are extremely strong at home and a few teams will struggle at Ashfield. I hope the Kings have a good consolidating season and I look forward to seeing my first live meeting when I come down with a few other Glasgow fans on June 8th

It would be worth keeping a keen eye on the Kings web site for the release of tickets for June 8th, a lot of tickets would have already been sold for the rain off against Leicester/Eastbourne & carried over to the Glasgow match.

You'll probably find that its a media journalist with a phone that has taken the photo and posted it before the official photographer has had the chance. Unfair on the Kent photographer but it seems to happen regularly nowadays.

It was taken by the team managers wife.
