  1. Yes, there are various places to park your chair with a small stand on the second bend, and we have a main stand on the 4th bend, next to the pit exit, hope you enjoy your time here on Teesside

The main stand is fully seated but a few steps. The small stand on second bend has wheelchair ramp as does the balcony in front of the bar

  2. Kevin Keay again just been on the radio here - and again stating it was the medics who were concerned about Coty's wellbeing. No matter what you may think, the Redcar promotion have no sway over what the medics do. Entirely plausible that Coty felt fine for a short while after the crash - no doubt the adrenaline had kicked in and then after a period of sat around for 30 minutes not doing anything took a turn for the worse.

Anyway, it sounded like Kev has not thrown the towel in and has presented a solicitor with the rule book today so who knows what will happen next. It does sound like he is already considering his future in the sport which would be a massive shame after al lthe good work he has done here in a few short months.

    Kevin Keay on BBC Tees,

  3.

Very desperate and poor. Only underhand tactics here were those of your own promotion, don't believe everything they've told you and ask them what they haven't!

That is one accusation that can never be leveled at the new Redcar promotion, even down to the more trivial matter of track preparation there cant be a more "level playing field" prepared track in the country.

Anyone that has ever had an accident will know that after effects can appear minutes or hours after the event when the adrenaline has worn off. If this was, as I believe, the case then the paramedics should and did over ride everyone from referees to promoters.

  4. I am a Glasgow fan so my knowledge and eye witness account of the incident will be dismissed.

However perhaps the best summation of the events comes from the wise sage Edinburgh's Mike Hunter who on their Facebook discussion page, posted the following.

'I think they are effectively saying Redcar were guilty of sharp practise in going past the curfew. That's what 'exceptional circumstances' means.'

Redcar did not go past the curfew so how was "going past the curfew" sharp practice?

  5. There rules.

Do you mean the council rules? Breaking their rules could lead to permanent closure, does anyone want that?

But your thinking is hypothetical as Richard wasn't excluded that is the fact of the matter so barring anything untoward happening it was going to be a 5-0 to Glasgow.

Why you are thinking otherwise is pointless , who knows how the rest of the meeting would have panned out my crystal ball is in for a polish.

Richard was not excluded but we have seen one major refs ruling overturned so why not the exclusion issue.

  6. ........................................ or the views of said Fans.

    Another good idea.

Interesting to see the Results of this one.

I think you can already guess where my Vote would go were there to be a Poll. :) :)

Thanks WK but it would seem you are the only other one interested in finding a consensus of members views and so unless anyone else is interested maybe just put it down to a missed opportunity for change  .

I agree, the powers that be are never going to trawl through the discussions on this or any forum but if they can be presented with the results of simple polls after the discussions have taken place then they must be something to be considered.

What are the priorities? Or are there reasons not to go down this path?

  8.

There is much discussion on the BSF on what is wrong with the way speedway is run today. I would like to see, from time to time, these opinions culminating in a vote so that, just maybe, the powers that be will see a clear picture of what a large group of speedway supporters are wanting.

To get the ball rolling (or wheels turning) I thought an anonymous vote on whether or not to publish attendance figures.

    http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=84163&hl=

The attendance figure poll has been running for two weeks now and stands at 70 - 30 on favour of publishing attendance figures.

Now that the feelings of supporters have been made known on this subject maybe its time to think about closing this poll and starting another on a subject where there are clear cut "Yes" or "No" options such as "Should tactical rides be stopped?" (or any other questionable topic).

Is there any interest in getting the feelings of all members through a poll and not just the ones who speak out by posting?

More nonsensical comments but I'll try to answer:

    (1) iris123 - because of my age, and because the nearest tracks are at least 25 miles from where i live. I have to rely on public transport and using this late at night can sometimes prove to be rather daunting and possibly a safety risk.

We are told time and time again how friendly and good natured speedway supporters are even to rivals so why is this "goodwill" not shown (with an occasional lift to the track) to a supporter who has difficulty attending his beloved sport? Instead he endures constant hostility.

I don't know gustix from Adam but I am sure someone will enlighten me with, no doubt, more hostility against him.

  10. That sounds like a reasonable guesstimate of average attendance across the three leagues of 700 per match. Of course it is a guesstimate because there are no published figures and even the Chairman of the BSPA questions the value of figures being quoted. At his track there has been a slow downward erosion of the crowd - noticeably so over the last three or four years. Yes, It is still a guess but when you can see several areas of the stadium devoid of people, where once fans were present, then something is missing.

Any chance of a link to where the chairman stated this? It would be interesting to know his thoughts.

  11.

My estimate of overall weekly TOTAL speedway attendances would be towards 32,000.

I would say more like 24000, can only go on what I saw in the Star a couple of years ago, saying average about 800 per meeting at the 30 tracks. Half of those attend zPremier tracks.May have gone down since then?

Half that I reckon. There must be quite a few that don't pay to get in, sponsors, guests, volunteers etc., we will never know how many attend.

Dont forget if you want to have any chance of getting to know attendance figures vote Yes in the poll,

Sorry to keep reminding everyone but the poll will have to close in the near future so get your vote cast.

43 Yes, 17 No, to date.

  13. I suspect that if the real figures were known the media would pay even less attention to Speedway.

Obviously more people would like to know than wouldn't, that's natural curiosity but I don't really see what purpose is being served.

You make a very valid point foamfence but there are many valid points on many subjects on this forum and it is difficult to know what is the majorities opinion. There are prolific posters and there are non poster this is just a way of hearing everyone's view, maybe a different topic should have been used and could be in future polls.
