    Confirmed Signings For 2018

    Dugard confirmed for eastbourne

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

The distance shouldn't be that much of an obsticle, it's probably a 70 mile round trip for home meetings for me.

    Eastbourne 2018

Think the 2 biggest question marks are Cradley and Lakeside (Cook did state in the SS that they would still keep the NL team when they stepped back up.)

    Eastbourne 2018

Bates posted on Facebook that whilst he plans on continuing riding in 2018 he does not think he will be able to commit to a team.

    Eastbourne 2018

99 percent confident that Anders will only ride for Kent/Len in the lower leagues then head to Swindon If/When he makes the standard.

    Nl Fantasy Side (for Fun)

I ll take that, being runners up to BV in the NL.....
  7. So I ve been wondering if any National League club would be willing to run a winter meeting. The last official one organised was Coventry a few years back which got cancelled. But I am relatively confident from twitter and Facebook that the crowd was set to be very good. I know we had 2 cars of people planning on going in my family alone. Whilst many riders have completely hibernated I am pretty confident a decent standard field could be assembled. For similar sized attendance sports (bangers, non league football) the boxing day events are some of the best attended. Despite the cold weather it's always easier to drag family members to sports they are not interested in at the festive period. I ve made a few enquiries about running winter meetings, so know that these have to be autherised by the bspa and given a licence to run, and there is a restriction of a maximum of 1 meeting a month allowed (across the country, amateur meetings not included in this.) How many people on here would like to see a winter speedway meeting or 2, I for one would love it.

    Eastbourne 2018

He is a lynn asset Alex, and with a top flight place on offer at reserve. Lynn will have no issues getting 2 good Heat leaders.

    Drew Kemp/jamie Halder

Yeah he came to kent in a challenge match and scored a high teens score. He then guested for kent at Stoke in the the number 5 jacket and gave a good account of himself in the deep end.

    Confirmed Signings For 2018

The problem is there are to many know it alls who don't get off thier bums on a cold Sunday morning and attend these practice sessions and amateur meetings.I can honestly say I reckon there is no more then 10 x 3 pointers anywhere near ready. And that includes the known riders Kemp, edwards, Spooner, O Keefe, Laker, Couzins, Locke, Bowdery. Whilst there is hot talent coming through they are either 2 young to ride yet, or just far too raw. If the limit does not go up it will kill meetings as a spectacle imo. Tbf Couzins and Locke Portwood and Sealey could have a season of filling thier boots at reserve if the average stays low,BUT they will then be saddled with a over inflated average the following season and will struggle to get team places as a result. To enable development we need a stronger league so youngsters will have to have beaten decent riders in order to up thier averages.

    Richard Halls Nl Average

It's not an established average it was assessed at 6 through the conversion method. So it stands to reason that a clearly low assessed average can be re assessed. If he is not reassessed it gives the green light to any rider nearing the end of Thier career to lower there upper league averages and take a season of easy pay days in the national league. There is a place for riders like Hall in the league but only on thier true averages.

The kent ones are final as they have not ridden in October.

    Confirmed Signings For 2018

Pretty sure Rowe was announced on bspa site back in July sort of time.
  16. teaboy279

    Richard Halls Nl Average

He has to be reassessed as at least an 8.

    Confirmed Signings For 2018

Rowe was announced for kent months ago. Also Bowen stated at end of season awards he was back for 2018

    National League 2018

To add to that list, a pre season column in the SS Jon Cook stated thier intention to return to top flight speedway but stated they were committed to the NL long term to develop thier own riders.

    National League 2018

Swindon ran NT this year to see if the backing was there to enter the NL and I seem to recall them saying that crowd figures were just about high enough to be viable.Kings Lynn, Buster has stated then intention is to run NL again. Rye House can't remember if it was shroek or Jensen that said that the reason they did not run NL in 2017 was to focus on the new challenge of top flight racing, but the intention was to return for 2018. With the hope of producing talent for the first team. I would say of the 4 teams quoted, Coventry is the most likely not to happen imo.

    National League 2018

In my view points needs to go up to around 42 points. I follow the amateur scene quite closely and have seen very few riders even close to the league standard yet. And other the O Keefe, and Spooner and the existing NL riders the SDL showed what a gulf there is to the unsigned riders. A 39 point average will mean most teams will use 2 x 3 pointers, which in my view means at least 15 riders no where near 5he right standard being forced to race, meaning strung out races and could be potentially dangerous. I think it will be a 12 team league (I believe there is an existing agreement that states 12 teams is max) but with Swindon, Rye House, Kings Lynn, and Coventry all set to apply to enter. I have no doubt it will be at least a 12 team league again in 2018.

    Stoke

It's a hard conundrum tbh, it's unfair on the teams who miss fixtures because of stokes eneptitude but you can't award points to the away team as that's unfair to other teams in the league. Stoke are not a rich club so a fine is pointless. But something has to happen to push stoke into getting thier fixtures completed. For the record I love the place as it has a certain charm to it, and always look forward to my visits there.

    Eastbourne V Mildenhall Koc Final

Been called worse lol, it was only a last minute thought about going getting one last fix. But always gonna be tight on the pocket so for me to go it needed to look competitive. Mildenhall if they can keep it to 12 points or so may have a good chance at home next week.
  23. teaboy279

    Eastbourne V Mildenhall Koc Final

Was looking for an excuse to come down if Mildenhall could make it competitive, Harris at 1 probably keeps me in the warm following updates.
  24. teaboy279

    Stoke

I ve banged this drum for a couple of seasons, some sort of sanction getting the meetings scheduled all before July or something must be posible.
  25. Drew has signed for Mildenhall for 2018 but limited his meetings this year to avoid getting an average. As the cups and amazingly the play offs don't count towards the averages, that's why he is the hottest property about at this level atm.Riders can sign for clubs at 15, but can't sign as an asset till 16 years of age. He really is a nice young lad, and it's been great watching him develop over the years, even on a 250cc you could see he was gonna be a bit good.
