Once upon a long time ago we would have a field like this at open meetings on UK tracks.

Edit GB were 4th and yes the website does carry the scorers from Germany as well as Poznan.
I need to go back to bed.

Have not seen any thread, updates nothing from or previously about this meeting, have I missed something or does any body have any details, scores please.
Results on the Speedway GB website. GB came third.

Unless I am wrong, the Berwick track is pretty much the same length as the old West Ham track. The current NDL guys are clocking times pretty much on a par with BL top guys back in the 60’s. We thought they were fast so these youngsters must be pretty good.

From memory it was called a Doozler

Interesting to see the scale model for Custom House in this week’s Star. I used to sit in the home straight upper tier, above the start/finish. Happy days.

Nice feature in this week’s Star.

My mistake. I read that Wembley won all their league matches home and away. Error somewhere, though they were still pretty good.

And West Ham 1947 as an embryo, though I can’t remember the details. Could well be against Wembley who won all 24 league meetings that year. Amazing record.

You can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. (Something like that anyway).

There are forum members older and me and members who attended meetings before me, but having attended my first meeting 62 years ago I must be in a pretty exclusive club. Who among us attended their first meeting before Easter 1960 and where?

If you are really Norman Hunter, then quite possibly.
