If Redcar can keep it to 10 , will be something else on the Thursday.
Barker was flying on Thursday

I hear that the White Knight attended last night , mainly to see Sunderland in action. Be interesting to here his observations on the New Redcar set up & team
-
Ben Barker was pretty good last night , the Season gets underway on Sunday at Peterborough, if we can keep it to 10 then I think we can win through.

One thing from this meeting that deserves a mention is the superb condition of the track , what a change from the last two years .

Well last night was the first meeting , what a difference in customer service etc, like a different place .
The track despite the rain held up, no blue line appearing at all instead of after 4 heats. Good crowd , will only get better if we get a few good results . Well done to Kevin Keay & his team ,
All the home riders did well apart from motor troubled Ben Barker .
Garrity was superb , he must not get iniured !!
The Bears are back. ,!

What a difference with the new organisation, great set up today for the kids,
According to the riders the track was like a billiard table. Going to be a good season for Redcar for a change.
JG is going to take some beating around here ...

The first official match of the season & a guest rider , at reserve too. How do we expect our sport to be taken seriously. Why no have an extra youngster signed up , get rid of guests

Let's hope that Kevin and his Team are rewarded for all of their effort. :approve:
We would love to see you back @ The Media Prima , the track now actually looks like a RACING strip ( photos on Twitter )

What a difference the new promotion has made, communications are now in the 21st century instead of being insulted.
Everything now is on a more professional basis from the team building to the website to general communications.
If ever a club deserves success for turning a dying club into one that wants success then it is Redcar & Kevin Keay

I have a quantity of these , is there any interest , mainly from the 60,s & 70's

I for one will not be taking up the BT offer , bigger burglars than Sky

Look at the Haye -Bellew fight, between 2 average fighters but the promotion was amazing. Pity we cannot get the Hearns interested in speedway

The price has dropped considerable over recent years. From memory I had a quote about 6 years ago and price was £75k, but now I would estimate it is half that due to advances in LED technology. Often the problem is the camera feeds and a decent visual editor to get the footage broadcasted.
When I was director of super7even I hired a mobile LED screen that was at each and every super7even event, the cost was only £2k per event and I did a separate deal with re run video to supply the live video feeds to it at zero cost and in return they had the rights to sell the DVD's.
Due to its success I actually put a business plan together for the BSPA to purchase it's own giant screen trailer for around £70k and send it out to tracks for a discounted price of £500 per match. I anticipated it would be busy 5 nights per week and would in fact end up being paid for within a season and another would be on order within a few months due to demand.
Unfortunately the committee at that time did not see its relevance or potential, unfortunately I did not have the funds to bank roll it myself at that time.
Moving onto today's world and I have already posted on another thread regarding video and live replays and in my opinion it has now moved on another stage from LED screens.
The majority of fans now carry their own mobile screen (smart phone) in their pocket and through dedicated WiFi networks at each track and a fancy new app, speedway could lead the way in developing a live sports network for fans to interact with the event whilst in attendance.
What a fantastic idea , sadly Speedway cannot see that such items are value. Even put the play back in the bar for half time & use for advertising.....

Did anybody at the Pearson / Tatum night ask about the Sky pull out ?
-
Any reason why this cannot be reopened
-
Why has no promoter looked at reviving this venue where it appears that the Council actually want it re opening ?
-
How did a thread about David Howe turn into a Glasgow fest ?

MOVE THE LOT TO OXFORD
-
I hope Coventry survive but it looks bleak, could this be an opportunity to re open Oxford ? At least something would come out of it & better than sharing .
If it was sharing where would be the favourite ?
-
Coventry to Oxford ? Probably the best option?
