I accept much in speedway could be better organised/arranged etc but be thankful we are not followers of athletics.

Think it could be a good move for Kelsey to try and find a big track. The Island would be good.

Why Is There So Much Secrecy About The Reserve Picks?.

The piece I have highlighted in blue is crucial. The EL lost that a long time ago. -
A Way Forward For National League Racing?
00000 replied to Electric6's topic in National League Speedway
I am sorry to say this is the very last thing the National League needs. It is working fine - the riders are coming through and some are making really fast progress. Jubilee Clip gives some in his earlier post. There are certainly more on the way. As I said on another thread, the big problem is that the EL and PL are too close together in terms of standards; making it hard for NL boys to step up The idea floated here would make the gulf between the NL and the PL an ocean -
Big risk for the Hammers but if both come good, it will look inspired.

Ahh! so not quite the Poole of the NL All this fuss rather overlooks the fact the catastrophic bike problems suffered by Andrews, Spiller and the fact that Wood had a nasty crash in ht 1 the night before. Perhaps all the naysayers would like to help Richie Andrews with his £900 bill for engine repairs - that's a tidy sum for a NL second string. -
There is too big a gulf between the NL and the PL. What has happened is that the EL and the PL are not that far apart in strengths; leaving a chasm beneath. Top riders in the NL this year - some real stars who win home and away - have found it dreadfully tough going in the PL. If the NL is to be a feeder league, the PL will have to dilute and return to the middle ground between the EL and NL.

Please, please new toilets. The current one behind bend 1/2 are a disgrace.

Ha, ha - Eastbourne now accused of doing a Poole. In reality, Wood has been carrying an injury for some weeks, Andrews is a bit prone to parting company with his bike and Spiller's bike wasn't really 100 per cent on Saturday night with Martin Dugard looking worried about it at times. Those three went into the Coventry meeting with problems. 3 for Kelsey is as good as we might hope. 11 and 10 for Brad and Ben was probably par for the course; Marc a tad down with six. Also, look at how well (not) the Eagles did in the 4s at Coventry. It maybe it is one of those tracks that they have not weighed up. -
Yes, well done to both sides. I think some EL riders would have cried off but the NL boy - both teams - carried on. Loved seeing the Eastbourne riders help put down the sawdust after the rain. Brilliant to see - and what a huge crowd. The good times were certainly back tonight at Arlington. Great night.
-
Ben would like to come back Read that in the Argus
-
pretty poor tonight from the Cradley promters. Four quid for a prog at NL is excessive. They also failed to get a proper racing surface ready. Not sure of who does the Perry Bar track but the buck stops with the promters. They are responsible.
-
Quite right. EL, they said, was stale but for the Witches the PL is stale+ Great club adrift in the British speedway seas
-
You did and were unfortunate in the 4s. You also have some entertaining riders, which counts for a lot.
-
The team don't call him PT for nothing.
-
Another Kent muddle. Why oh why, oh why didn't they stay quiet about EL aspirations until they knew they were in?
-
Hope they bring the green helmet cover back. That's what is needed
-
Hard to spot? Furry coat, four legs, a tail and wearing a hat - you don't see many like that ----even in Brighton. And look for the table setting: no knife and fork - just a saucer of milk. Miaow is the best the chat gets.

Eagles Vs Brummies Gold Cup Part 2 7:30 Saturday

Another day, another cup: that's two in six days for Eastbourne. Never known success like it. -
Brummies Vs Eagles 7th October 7:30 Gold Cup Final 1st Leg

Good to race against Birmingham. Eagles and Brummies have come both come back from the brink and set new standards in the NL. At least Cradley have had a run for their money this year. It is good see more and more teams taking the NL seriously. The standard of racing improves and eventually so will British speedway. Look forward to seeing a good number of Brummies at Arlington on Saturday - come early and enjoy the day in the resort. -
I know. Spiller is from Kent and lives abroad. I don't care if he is flown in from Timbuctu - he is sitll eligible for the NL. If Eastbourne want to pay, that's their business - and I mean business in the commercial sense.
-
No flys on Eastbourne this year. Or is Argos going to set up a "no fly zone" for the National League? How will that be monitored? The RAF, USAF, French and Russians all look pretty busy at the moment but perhaps Gatwick could become fog-bound any time an aircraft carrying a speedway rider wants to land.
