  1. Yes I don't disagree. Always room for improvement in everything in life but I go back to the fact that if you drop Harris who replaces him?. Seems a real good team spirit at Ipswich at the moment and that counts for hell of a lot. Team spirit got us over the line at home to Wolves when everything looked like we we were going to drop points. Give the boys a chance as this is definitely one of the best teams in the league. Ok we don't have top end power in heats 13 and 15 but over two legs of a play of I fancy us every time
  2. Easy to say. But with that comment who do you replace him with? Some people never happy.ipswich doing a lot better than most, but not me, expected and still you moan!

nothing like being glass half full guy. Harris scored 8 last night. And we all know what he can do at the business end of the season. Give the guy aa break
  4. I was not there tonight but looking at the scoring it does seem a very strange decision to not replace King with Allen in one of kings last two rides. Maybe the team manager had a good reason not to replace Danny? Maybe in his programme notes next week he may explain?

    Ipswich v Redcar 19/7/18

Fair enough baldyman. Dont get me wrong i am and have been a speedway fan and a not very good rider many years ago! And like you i can see how speedway is slowly going down the pan due to maybe 3 0r 4 promoters calling the shots. What this sport needs is someone independant to drag it uphill. All too cozy at the top. Seems to me that promoters thought hey im losing x amount per meeting so sod it lets half the meetings so half the loses! I am a business owner and know thats not the way to run a business but the so called promoters at the top say they know better. Speedway is going to die in this country unless the so called experts sort themselves out. Dont hold your breath though. But going back to the ipswich changes ,something needed to be done otherwise the season would def be over by the end of august. May still be over but at least Chris is trying

We all intitled to our opinions. Thats what these forums are all about. So come on guys lets hear what changes if any would we all have made allowing for the lack of riders available. As of yet not heard any. And Baldyman i am not looking through rose tinted glasses but i am a speedway supporter of many many many years who enjoys going to speedway and would not be happy if it ceased at ipswich. I cant comment on Wallinger as not seen him ride but everyone seems to think Drew Kemp is a hot prospect but not available until he is 16

Everyone has there fav tracks and Lakeside is Conners fav i am sure. But to have any chance in this league you need riders who can ride there home track and i am sure Conner would be the first to admit he struggles at Ipswich especially early in the meeting when there is dirt on the track.lakeside is always slick from memory right from the get go

Time will tell. And if you dont support the local team and speedway stops then what? Would everyone be happy with no speedway? Also i see no one on here with alternative options. We all know the problems Chris Louis is having and give the guy some credit. There is not a massive list of available riders free.

    Ipswich v Redcar 19/7/18

Come on chaps. Give the promotion some credit. Changes were needed as all agree. Garcia was very good when he raced at ipswich and mark riss beat Danny at ipswich. Also they are def going to score more away than the riders they are replacing as they should know the tracks. Some are way to negative on here

For all those always quick to critisise Ipswich for anything and everything they do look at this year's averages. You will find Ben Barkers average is around 1.3 points a meeting better than Lewis Kerrs. How does that make Ipswich weaker?. I am afraid that the top grand prix guys ain't available and especially not on the averages that Ipswich had available. A lot of people wanted a change but no where on here did I read what changes they would be. Onwards and upwards hey?

    Ipswich 2016

After Thursdays defeat and the the big defeat at Somerset it is already starting to look like a long season for the Witches. Only good thing is that Paco is slowly getting his act together. The problem Ipswich have is that they are over the 42.5 limit so changes are going to be hard to make. I'm no team boss but it does seem that Darryl is not going to be an effective 3 pointer but is anyone out there any better and more importantly available?. He tries hard but never really looks like outscoring the opposition reserves. As for the low crowds so far this season at Foxhall , why oh why didn't we just start our home season a lot later and then have regular Thursday speedway from the off? This stop start beginning to the season is totally rubbish! The frustrating Thing with our team is when they are all on form it's as good a team as any in the league but for what ever reason they can't all fire at the same time. And also gating has been a problem at home not just this season but last season as well. Hopefully Chris may have some of the answers otherwise it a bottom 3 for us this year and we should be better than that.

Looking at the team I have no complaints. Crucial riders will be Lewis and Paco I think. If both can put a point on their averages then we have a chance of winning something next year. I saw Paco at the 16 lapper and wasn't that impressed but I seem to remember he arrived late and had bike trouble. I have had a Quick look at his away scores at the end of last season and there was a couple of 5+3 scores and a 4+1. That bodes well if he can score like that on the away tracks. So long as Lewis comes back to how he was scoring before he got injured he will be challanging for the second heat leader slot. James will only improve imo. Everyone says he jumps at the start and sometimes admittedly he does but also he has great reactions. We see it all the time when refs pull a start back when someone actually makes the perfect start.some are saying we will have a Long tail but so will almost every other team. Having a top heavy team is the way to go otherwise you will lose heats 13 and 15 every time. With this team I would hope that if we are within a point or two going into the last three heats we would come out on top by the end.

    Ipswich 2016

I can't imagine anyone would be happy with all 7 riders. We never are. It a all about opinions and what actually happens next season on the track. As I said before so long as all 7 put 100 percent effort in we can't ask for any more. From what I have seen so far with team building no one team stands out. Glasgow will no doubt start as Favs though looking at some of their proposed line up but as we all know having a winning team on paper doesn't always come up trumps. I wonder how close the actual team will be to what has been suggested on here?

    Ipswich 2016

How about this for the team? Danny King Lewis Kerr Nico covatti Morton Risager Cameron Heeps 3 pointer 3 pointer. I think it fits with the 2.5 percent reduction for Danny and Lewis Or maybe swap Cameron and a three pointer for Adam Ellis and Lewsi Rose if they fit. I think both teams would be about as good as we could expect

    Ipswich 2016

Def crucial to have two reserves that Will improve their averages .Just as a side issue has anyone heard a word on weather anything has changed regarding the stupid stupid tactical rule?. If it staying as it has been why on earth is it?

    Ipswich 2016

For a 4th heat leader there would not be many better. Maybe as the local paper has a quiet day sports wise on tuesday we may get an announcement. Like said ,all hyperthetical at the moment but gives us all things to talk about. From what I have seen so far though not many teams look mega strong apart from maybe the possibility of Glasgow.
  19. stu219

    Ipswich 2016

If and its a big if, morten does return he will be a great 4th heat leader ,good for at least 6 points almost anywhere he rides. That leaves the last 3 riders to pick up around 10 points between them. If the top of the team is as suggested on here then I would say that the last 3 riders will be what decides on how well the Witches do next year.
  20. stu219

    Ipswich 2016

Yes. I agree. Like I said not my choice of team also. I would like to go with 3 strong heat leaders and take a gamble on 2 three pointers or close in the reserve berths.we need 3 riders that are going to get you 30 points a meeting and then you need the other 4 to get just 16 points between them. Happiness is 46-44 every meeting. Simplistic I know and easy saying it.
  21. stu219

    Ipswich 2016

I think you all forgetting good people that there is only 42.50 points to play with. The suggested team above wouldn't be my choice but we can't have 7 heat leaders

    Ipswich 2016

To be fair if we have signed Lewis Kerr I would expect is average to go up as he rode a lot of last season at number 1. He is more likely to be at number 3 or 4 for the Witches , making for easier rides. I dont know anything about our possible number 7 so can't comment on him. Lewis Rose, if he is our number 6 is more than capable of improvement also. Stefan Nielson could be the crucial one and I believe with the right backing he is also capable of putting a small amount onto his average. This is all guesswork though as we have no official team announced yet.
  23. stu219

    Ipswich 2016

It definitely was a stupid mistake if he did tell all. Only time will tell if it is the team rumoured on here. I will say ,that if it is the team the top 4 will be as good as any team I would imagine. If the bottom 3 can up their averages it could be a very good team.

    Premier League 2016 - Worry

Yes I see your point about the centre green. A good idea but totally impractable for most clubs.

    Premier League 2016 - Worry

A few ideas to speed up the meetings and make them more interesting. Ban all riders from getting of bikes at start line to do gardening. Some clubs to make more effort to make the introduction of riders more exciting with a proper parade. Rye house springs to mind of being appalling at this. More presenters needed like Kevin Long at Ipswich. How about having pits on the centre green so everyone can see what's happening in the pits?. A live microphone in the pits so we all get to hear the chats between the ref and riders or team manager. Might need a bleep machine for that though lol. Also do away with the daft tactical rule we use now and go back to the old version of when a team 6 points down any rider can be used as a replacement so long as all riders have at least 3 rides and each rider can only be used once as a tactical. Just a few thoughts. Sure none will be used but be nice to hear what other people's ideas are.
