These are supposed to be grown men competing for a sports team where the ultimate goal is to win. If the German can't hack getting a telling off from the manager every now and then, then he is in the wrong line of work if that makes him, and I quote you, "feel uncomfortable".

Somerset have had since last Wednesday night to, and I quote again, "throw a team together". A whole 4/5 days depending how you look at it. There is no rocket science needed for speedway so it probably could take a single day, yes.

For what it's worth, I would of sacked Schlein after the Sheffield away match if I had been team boss. When you throw in the Berwick one aswell that should of without doubt been the final straw if it was 50/50 after the Sheffield meeting.

The whole way May has handled this has been shoddy to match his turnout !

Seems abit cynical that point of view - Why would he need to make them feel uncomfortable? Gary May could of just replaced them whenever he wanted to.

The signing of Nick Morris isn't actually that much of a gamble. The combination of the bottom 4 has been very little away from home so Nick Morris along with the odd point from Rowe and Stoneman should more than better that. Mind you, Nick Morris has been pretty average at best for Wolves so he will need to up his game considerably if he is to return to his best.

Not surprised to see Kurtz go. He should of been pushing a 6.50 average easily this year but has gone backwards.

I have reliable information that makes me have that "cynical view" ! I have just read the new team listings, that wasn't thrown together in a day was it !!! Let's leave it at that.

  3. There is more to this than meets the eye ! How is it that after the awful match at Berwick just a week before and No1 returns only 3 points and nothing is said and yet within a week we have lost one popular and improving rider and another who is a Somerset asset who is making inroads to his form and regain of confidence after injury and later an off that would have seen most riders withdraw from the meeting ! Did these lads simply leave by their own will or were their departures part of a bigger plan, so they were made to feel so uncomfortable that leaving was their only option ??? !!!

  4. Just like to put it on record that Schlime Ball is not so popular at the Oaktree. Last week against Redcar , he came out with the others on the victory parade and then verbaly abused the Start Marshal within earshot of the paying punters about the handling of the start of Ht 15, apparently Palm Toft's handlebars were encroaching on Schlime Ball's box and he claimed it impeded on his start. He has also taken to retiring if he misses out on the start  as well ! Self opinionated in my book !

I'm the same mate . The ridiculous points limit doesnt fill me with excitement . Even worse for you guys after being upstairs for a couple of seasons .

Still it means i get to see my team racing at one of my favourite venues again , rather than make the pilgrimage as a neutral as i have done the past two years .

Move on !!! In six months time you will have forgotten all this and embraced the team you have !!! Go Rebels !!!

Because in the Championship you have 11 other teams to race against, as opposed to 6 other teams in the Premiership.

Actually quite surprised to see all of the doom and gloom about dropping down to this league. I’m sure the likes of Lakeside fans would take your place in heartbeat!

Yes but in the Premiership teams meet twice away and at home, where's in the Championship they meet once away and once at home ! Simples !!!

I expect Garry & Debbie to have a team of "racers" Charles Wright, Greg Allen & Nico Covatti being 3 obvious candidates. I would like to see James Shanes as he's a racer & local.

I have said this before riders will want to ride for Somerset as its a great race track, this gives Somerset a huge advantage with team selection.

Good luck to the rebels in 2019......…

That's got my speedway appetite going !!!

Went to Somerset on Wednesday night and spoke to Doyley post meeting, asked about a Swindon return in 2019, this was his answer.

Somerset have looked after him fantastically and the professionalism has been second to none. Still has some unresolved issues with Swindon management. Somerset want to do another loan deal for 2019 if in Premiership, however Swindon will only sanction a full transfer and not another loan deal. Also has interest from one other Premiership club, wouldn’t tell me who but hinted at Leicester.

Why don't you go into a corner, stand on your head and speak up !!!

The Somerset team manager admitted to doctoring the track on TV  Shame as it spoilt the entertainment value of the meeting.

I am fully aware that he said it on TV but it was tongue in cheek and Poole bit hook line and sinker !!! As far as TV entertainment value goes we thought it was a great meeting and so did they. By the way, how did your lot get on tonight !!!
