  1. If you mean they will travel around to compete in various State Championships other than their own, that can't happen, as they can only qualify from there own State Championship. Finishing in the top 4 of any state championship that is not their own, will mean that they do not meet that particular part of the criteria.
  2. That's all very well in theory, but at the moment I don't think that can happen for a couple of reasons. Firstly, in my opinion, and it's only an opinion, we don't have a sufficiently big enough talent pool to choose from, and secondly, when you do find someone who might fit the bill, they often have an unrealistic view of their own ability/talent, and price themselves out of the market. I know of one club who offered a young British NL rider a place as a 3pt reserve, only to be horrified at his wage demands, which would have put him on a par with much more talented and experienced riders. Until Speedway can overcome situations like those, the problems as you see them will remain
  3. Firstly it's not wrong at all, Plymouth could not support any riders application at the time, whether it be a Tier 2 or Tier 5, as they did not have a sponsors licence, which was confirmed in the article quoted by IDH. So whoever fed you that line is way off beam. As for the UKVI apologising, I think the current state of affairs shows that the word 'apology' is not in their vocabulary, ask any of the promotions who attended the meeting where their Sponsorship Licences were withdrawn. The use of the word 'We' in your reply is interesting, if it means you are part of, or attached to the promotion, then it's no wonder Speedway is having to deal with it's current predicament. If the use of the word is to indicate that you're a supporter, then you really should take more notice of your own clubs press releases.
  4. What absolute nonsense, it's that kind of 'understanding' of the situation that has brought Speedway to the position it's in now. When a rider leaves a club, or is left out of the team, and then goes to ride for another team, it is the new clubs responsibility to become the sponsor for that rider, even though he may be an asset of another club. In both cases, when they were left out of the team, I believe Somerset's responsibility towards them, as far as the UKV&I are concerned, was to inform them (the UKV&I) that they no longer rode for the club. Any new visa application after that should be overseen by their new club, as they then became their sponsors when applying for a new visa. In Alex Davies' case it is my understanding that his deal fell through at Plymouth, because they (Plymouth) did not have the required sponsors license, therefore could not sign Alex. Had he gone to another club, with a sponsors license, things may have turned out differently. So to say they were shafted by Somerset, is complete and utter garbage.

Surprised you had to ask that Lewy. You seemed to have all the answers about Somerset's situation previously. Not so sure now eh', or are you getting worried ? You're starting to sound desperate

    Plymouth 2015

Regardless of when his birthday is, or the fact that he will or will not be 26 at the start of this Year, or Season, whichever point in time you choose, that one word, 'UNDER' precludes him from riding in the NL. It means he will certainly be 1 year, if not 2 years too old according to the rule HT quoted, as long as that rule is adopted for the 2015 season of course.

    Somerset 2015

Think you'll find it was covered in detail by both in the Speedway Star just before Christmas. It appears that the BSPA will be meeting with the UK Visa & Immigration in the New Year to discuss the situation over Non EU riders, and until that meeting is concluded, and the whole thing is finally clarified, neither have anything to announce.......So what 's the point in making an announcement, until you have something to announce For what it's worth, my opinion is that the UKV&I will not move away from the 7pt average, and the BSPA will have to adhere to it, but until that is decided, no proper decisions can be made on the riders concerned, even then they may not qualify for a visa, so again there's really nothing to say.

    Somerset 2015

It would appear that other teams have not based team building on the 7.00 ave, as both Arthur Sissis & Jake Allen have been brought in by their respective teams on 5.00 averages, something which the snipers on here have conveniently glossed over
  10. You have the right Final (2012), Scunny did indeed have a tactical in Heat 11 at the Oak Tree Arena, which Josh Auty converted into 6-points, whilst Somerset went through both legs without using a tactical, only to lose by the single point, but that's all ancient history now. Like it or loathe it, it's part of the rules and we're stuck with at the moment. I for one won't be crying about it if the Rebels need to use one to carry off the crown tonight, especially as the Monarchs had to use two last night to restrict us to a 12-point lead. It's all part of the game.
  11. Totally agree Statto. Clearly a posting that was made from the Mythos induced fogs in Crete Obviously all that jiggling from constantly riding that old hobby horse has affected your eyesight Howard No it wasn't I think you misunderstand Oldtimer's comments there M'lud. Surely if you read his original posing (at the top of this reply), his point was that Edinburgh may not amass enough points to top the league, as they will not complete the fixtures in time, and not that they won't complete all there fixtures per se.
  12. Can you fill out my lottery numbers for next week please Shads
  13. It's not just Scandinavia, try getting a cheap internal flight in this country sometimes. I couldn't come on the Rebels Northern tour last weekend for various reasons, but was free on Sunday, so I had a look at flying up, as I have done loads of times before for reasonable cost, certainly cheaper than driving for instance. The cheapest cost for a return flight from Bristol was over £220.00, and that only got me there 40 minutes before the start time & left it really tight for getting the flight back. Now I know that it would have been a late booking, which obviously cost more, but riders sometimes have similar problems, having to rearrange flights for the rearranged match after rain offs etc, so I can well believe £500.00 for a flight.

  15. Bit of a judge that woman of yours Had the Crystal Ball out early there Screm ..............now how does the song go Shads...Oh yeh.."One Nil to the Aresenallll...errr I mean Monacoooooo" Shads, in honour of you making the right decision of where your 'Hard Earned' was spent today, I won't resort to the squiggly writing, just so you can read it on your crappy iPhone
  16. On some things we will always agree..........Hope Andre fully recovers from his injury
  17. In view of your previous extremely well aired views on the subject of postponements on the back of adverse weather forecasts, I would welcome your thoughts on tonight's postponement due according to the Comets Official website to an adverse weather forecast. Personally I don't have a problem with it, but I seem to recall you two may have done
  18. Typically uninformed comment from yourself Mr J, if you read through the thread, as far as I can see, there is only one ACTUAL Rebels fan making the postings you appear to be referring to..................the rest seem to be keeping a dignified silence..........most of the comments on either side of the arguments are coming, understandably, from Monarchs fans, neutrals, and a few posting to the sound of axe's grinding in the background (if the cap fits Mr J, wear it). Without making unjust assumptions, do I take it that you're talking from experience in your first comment, if so your manager must have great fun with your Performance Management Document when it comes up for review. As for the second one, the vast majority of those I saw leaving were neutrals, and as I go to the OTA every week, and am a bit of a social animal at speedway, I have fair knowledge of most of those who attend on a regular basis, even if only by sight..........or do I hear the sound of metal on a grindstone in the background
  19. Being a bit disingenuous there aren't we...........we all know that when it comes to bashing Somerset you're far from neutral

    Rebels V Comets July 4th

If that's the case, it won't be the fault of the Somerset promotion, so you're casting your line in the wrong direction. It will be down to the BSPA meeting co-ordinator, as you well know the pairs is a BSPA shared event, and not a club meeting. Having said that I suppose that won't stop you saying otherwise, as I know you love a spot of fishing. Ooops....Looks like Drew2 beat me to it

    Somerset V Berwick 27.06.14

I believe the weather was bad down to the south of us yesterday, as I know the stuff we have had this morning was what occurred in Devon and Cornwall yesterday, pity it couldn't have come a day earlier. Although the forecast for the area around the OTA is far from good for later today as well............As Tourettes said, typical Glasto weather unfortunately
