    Bspa Chairman - Keith Chapman

For this particular project the only negotiating required would be with go-speed and I am sure they could be pursuaded to support it. However not sure if Phillip Rising would as it could potentially have a devastating effect on speedway star sales?

As a first step I would roll out wifi access points around every speedway stadium which required email address/name/DOB/team to access it. Once that data is captured it can be used to keep contact with that fan and send news, sell tickets and wish them a happy birthday along with some free tickets for them and their friends if under 16. Then I would build an app which could be layered over for every club and within the app rider interviews would be broadcasted directly to it as well as the PA, so effectively a TV is being placed in the hands of every user. Upon entry a code could be printed on the admission ticket which would allow a premium upgrade and live meeting results would be sent to it (replacing the need for a programme) and replays could also be shown on it to bring the best elements of SKY TV to alive meeting. In addition to this think of the all the advertising that could be displayed on the app during the meeting. Taking it one step further all the video content captured around the country over a week could then be put together for a weekly highlights video magazine to keep fans up to date with everything going on around the country! Anyway list goes on with the possibilities and something like this would only cost each Premier and Elite track around £10k each including app development and the equipment needed... shame technology like this wasn't as easily available when I was a promoter otherwise I can guarantee King's Lynn would have led the way with it's development! Anyway good to see some posters are going out to every track, the sport is certainly making a statement with that idea

Exactly, so wouldn't it be great if their was an android and Apple app that interacted with the kids (and adults) during the meeting. Times have moved on and paper programs are a thing of the past!

I am un-sure as to what owing money to other clubs has directly to do with Manchester City Council. You have said to investigate but if that was the case surely it would have been done with the consent of the promoters and lease holders in an open meeting with the aim of finding a solution. Perhaps you can explain further?

Having previously been a doubter I was astonished when M&G got the go ahead for one of the biggest things to happen in British speedway during my life time. Obviously like many it was sad to see the opening night end in tears and whilst many were quick to point the finger and use it as an opportunity to vent their jealousy I thought it was the last thing they or any one else needed. And now after reading the non approved leak I must say that all I feel is anger towards the way they have been treated by MCC and the BSPA. Something does not sit right in not receiving the support they rightly deserved, after all the fault squarely lands at the contractors and not them. Does it surprise me? I guess not because I am fully aware of the jealousy that members of the BSPA held behind closed doors. I would not be surprised to see M&G launch legal action and win.

A leader leading you to where though Tsunami.... is it good to follow someone who may not have a well thought out strategy? Personally I think all leaders with no strategy may maintain respect but will however lose their battles 9 times out of 10, and after reading Flagrag's latest comment we can only hope British Speedway has not fallen into this trap.

Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv

If you wish to watch sky sports legally without having to have a sky TV package or BT one, simply download the sky sports app for your phone and pay £10 per month for the full package. To watch it on your big screen TV simply buy a £30 Chromecast device and hey presto!

I think it beggars belief that 2 weeks after the announcement that Leicester had been saved the full details have not been released. I know tsunami believes we should be grateful of the new leader and his hard work, however I have no idea why the communication with fans has been so bad. Unfortunately, I think the damage from this will far outway any positives and the sport will remain on life support for the foreseable future. As I often advise businesses, just because someone is a great guy to have in the trenches with you, it does not mean you would want then planning the attack.

This is a great idea, however the fans need to know the real situation at the club and a window of opportunity opened for this to progress.

If was silver, never the less you have said enough to give the game away on who is hiding behind this name. Wish you would grow a set and post under your real name, but I guess you will come up with some excuses as to why you shouldn't have to.... Nothing new there ✌

A statement from James Crocker, lawyer for Brandon Estates, has confirmed that deal is now dead. He said: I can expressly confirm that Mr Mick Horton did not take up the lease of Brandon Stadium on January 3, 2017.It would obviously be improper for me or my clients to comment on Mr Hortons decision. I can however say the decision not to take up the Lease was Mr Hortons and not Brandon Estates Ltd and Brandon Estates Ltd had offered a substantial and extremely generous sponsorship package to Mr Horton/Coventry Speedway Ltd. The statement added 'I do not believe that a new lease will be entered into prior to the start of the forthcoming Speedway season' I truely hope Mick Horton has an explanation for Coventry fans as to why he did not offer to loan the speedway promotion out to someone who would have been happy to take up the lease on what sound favourable terms? Unless that is forthcoming I fear he will always be known as the man who shut down Coventry Speedway and not Mr Sandhu.

Tarmac would cost about £50k so don't know where that crazy idea has come from, no wonder negotiations are still ongoing! Hey Steve Thanks for taking the time to put all that information together, has certainly made interesting reading for me.... and explained quite a few things. Bottom line is DH told me about his plans to charge for construction waste in 2007, however he never explained that it would pay for the whole stadium build... I can only guess that is why he pushed me and others aside, he had found a way to build a speedway stadium for Free and still hold on to 100% of the shares and any future value. If this is the case then I think he owes the fans the decency to sign over the lease of the ground to the supporters club, instead of keeping it for personal gain. I wonder Steve if there is any way of finding out from the council (under the FOI act) if any details were kept on the amount of waste dumped on the site so the total value of what DH received could be calculated? PS feel free to PM me your mobile phone number if you wish to discuss further privately

Think you have just let the cat of the bag. This is certainly something that should have been sorted out whilst negotiating the lease, so either: a) The lease has not been signed yet in which case new promotion have prematurely made the announcement and whole thing is at risk if one party does not back down and an agreement reached. the new promotion made a boo boo in signing a new lease and not putting this clause in it, in which case there is a chance the new season may start without any track alterations. Either way you can not blame Hemsley for this, if I was him I doubt I would spend my capital on it as it would not add a single pound to my return. Let's hope the comments Darcy made about Hemsley in the speedway star have not been taken to heart and the relationship stays 'good and positive'. Disclaimer: before anyone decides I am a scaremonger or a candy floss farting machine, flag rag is a reliable source who has reported that negotions are still on going.

I could also see it going down hill and still having a small emotional attachment I put olive branch out to DH by text and FB messenger last winter.I was back in the UK for a period and was happy to assist in getting the mistakes corrected and making it a success.... I never heard back. Like I have said before, without DH's financial commitment and risk the stadium would never have been built, so in my opinion he thoroughly deserved his opportunity at running the club. Just a shame for the fans he was reluctant to accept the majority of help or advice given to him, and in hindsight I would hope he realises that his biggest downfall was not respecting the people who helped him get where he was and listen to the people that matter the most, the fans!

    Leicester Lions 2017

I am sure it did but what about the 2 to 3 years previous, who do you think was behind getting to that point? Look maybe it was explained at the time and obviously you was not prove to all the work beforehand, but I can assure you this is what happened and Ermelenko only came along after the majority of the work had been done by DJ and many others such as Ken Naylor and myself. Actually thinking about it, it was definitely never explained as I never even got a 'thank you' and neither did many others, we were brushed aside as soon as DH got planning. Update: I can confirm ermelenko was introduced to the fans in November 2009 whilst this video from a TV news story in 2007 confirms majority of what I have previously said
  19. Theboss

    Leicester Lions 2017

That is totally incorrect, ermelenko arrived a long time after Hemsley was involved. I know because I assistied DH with getting the lease granted by the local council. I attended a couple of council meetings and also ran a Stars V Leicester meeting to raise public awareness (received good local TV news coverage). I was never in it to be the promoter but saw it as an opportunity to help, as I am sure many others did. Once the lease was agreed and planning consented DH went about raising the funds to build the stadium, at that point I was no longer involved and I believe that was when ermelenko arrived. Ken Naylor and others will back me up on this, and whilst DH may not have proved to be a good promoter, the stadium solely exists for the Lions team to race in because of the capital he invested (which in my opinion was a risk 999 out of a 1000 would never take).

Finally the fans have a well deserved statement, and in my opinion a positive one at that. Guess it shows the power fans have via the use of this forum, something I often personally used to guage feedback when I was a promoter and answer any queries when necessary.

Let's hope that this is true and their is still a glimmer of hope. As I say I it heard from a reliable source, not directly from Mick Horton or anyone else at the BSPA.

I don't know why it is LIVE when the questions are being pre-submitted which sort of defies the object of LIVE. Even MP's go on Question time and get LIVE questions thrown at them, which always makes for a more honest and frank discussion. The reason they do it (in theory) is to show they have nothing to hide and attempt to build public trust. More chance of getting blood out of a stone by the looks of it!

    Coventry 2017

That is true but we have no lines of communication so it did not come from him, hence why I asked Watson to confirm or deny. I was on holiday that week, I have a stamp in my passport to prove it! I think this leaves fans realising the 'open door policy' was BS and that nothing has changed in terms of PR at the head towers.

    Coventry 2017

I am sorry to say that I have heard from a reliable source that the Coventry riders have in the past 48 hours been told by Mick Horton to start looking for a new job. Maybe Neil Watson can do the decent and correct thing and either CONFIRM or DENY this? And before anyone starts to defend Coventry Speedway's stance on staying silent (which seems to be only with the fans in this case), I do not see how this would interfere with any legal technicalities if still ongoing.
  25. Theboss

    Coventry 2017

Wanting to 'silence' fans sounds like a very strange way for a promoter to explain how he wishes to interact with them and provide reassurance that work is going on to save their club (which was there long before you arrived). I suggest Coventry Speedway employs someone with a much more respectful and friendly manor in which to deal with the public.... while you get on with helping Mick play with his toy train set. ps Yes I know I am not even a Coventry supporter but very P****ed at the way you see fit to treat them now and have done in the past. Enough is enough, they deserve better than you!
