  1. Wow!! what a fiesco, Where does one start. This scenario was always going to happen, and unlike others I blame Buster for it all. Apparently, it was known MPT wasn't ever available because of prior commitments, but the fans should have been told. Arranging a double header against the same team was mindless, knowing if there were problems in the first meeting, there wasn't a third team ready to get rider replacement from. Had our second match been against say Belle Vue, we could have co-opted Wolves riders to fill any gaps, So it was a dreadful idea...

With both teams down to 6 men, neither could afford any mishaps, yet for the first 6/7 races the track was so deep, every race was an accident waiting to happen. Race 1; Jorgensen goes out wide and locks up, race over. Race 2; Greaves in second chasing Porsing goes out wide and pulls a real lock-up. he all but stops, Auty coming into the corner after driving inside Riss has no where to go and cluttered into Greaves. Nasty pileup. All 3 down, Fortunately all were OK and able to continue. Imagine had they been unable to continue!!!. Race 3 Huckenbeck lifts and gift Thorssell the points.. Race 4 : Wolves rider gets a massive roller, leaving THJ to chase hard. going in turn 3 he does a massive 360 leaving Porsing nowhere to go. bad crash. and Porsing retires with concussion.. THJ to is injured .,.. Race 5: is gate an go, riders staying on the white line. As the meeting continues THJ eventually pulls out as well.

After heat 6 Buster again does extended track work and from then on the track is good with some good racing. but by then we are down to 4 riders and 12 points adrift and as a match it is all but over. So this 'Poor me' attitude that Buster gives over the mIc is wasted on me. I blamed him for all the problems...

Words fail me about Lambert, Had he been the Captain, deserting his duty, when his ship was going down he would be jailed for life. The thought of walking out on his mates/ Club in their hour of need should never have entered his head. The fact that it did just shows off his selfish mentality. The fact his team were in dire straits didn't matter to him in the slightest... Cant see him winning a lot of fans acting like he did....

Last night , not only did we lose 2 matches, we lost a lot of respect, we lost a lots of support. It was wrong the fans had to watch so many 3 man races, it was wrong to expect them to stay when a referee could have made a sensible decision. After last night our sport is all but dead......

Josh Auty and Jorgensen need a special mention. they were exceptional, What a pity Lambert wasn't made the same way.....

I agree bout Lambert and feel he is heading the same way as others before him and will fail to fulfil his potential.

I did actually say from day one of professional career that he was best to get a professional manager but that advice was ignored.

  2. Ok you Buster bashers ! Let's give you some facts. Buster and Wolves management wanted to call off 2nd meeting tonight as Lynn were down to 3 riders. Buster suggested to ref to call off meeting, as only the ref can call off a meeting, and he would refund £8 back to each fan. Chris Van Straaten was happy for meeting to be called off also. Ref refused both their requests and said 2nd meeting had to take place. So don't go blaming Buster or Wolves for this, this is down to the ref.

DWH maybe you can confirm the rumours that you are soon becoming co promoter at the club? If so I encourage your interaction with fans however may not be best to start calling people 'buster bashers'.

Surely it is best to try and accept responsibility for when things go wrong and explain how the club will fix them moving forward.

From where I stand, which is watching from a far, the club is in a mess and I am sure that 99% of the fans want to see it turned around.

I for one hope you can do this, but please do not go on the attack when blind loyalty gets in the way.

  3. Yes that's a good point ... though you didn't need to diss Mrs Hancock (I don't know if you have history with her!). As women in speedway go, she's not bad at all! Colin Pratt is no Colin Firth either.

I think Debbie is a good and honest speedway promoter and my comment was flippant based on the fact cameras will often focus on start line girls because they they clearly think it keeps the average viewer happy.

  4. I must say I do find the production, directing and vision mixing of the league Speedway quite confusing this year.

The guy in charge is very experienced and in fact would say he is the master of directing Speedway tv production having done 100s of GPs and has done the world cups as well but not really sure what's going on with the league coverage.

I am unsure whether he is being let down by a more junior production team and vision mixer than he is used to or whether as there is less cameras is struggling to produce it in the way as you can the GPs. This may be why they keep cutting to Debbie and Colin Pratt as they haven't got the on track angles to make the coverage seem varied.

I have also noticed that now the nights are starting to draw in that more of the meetings are being done in the dark the age and quality of equipment being used is starting to show as needs more light than what new kit can operate with.

This year was always going to be difficult as has been said many times on here it is being done to a tight budget to keep costs as low as possible.

Let's hope that 2018 it can continue to be on TV whether it be on BT or back on Sky the main thing is live British Speedway on TV whichever way there will be improvements to coverage as can be budgeted and funded correctly.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I can not imagine this quality of production will put any existing speedway fans off, but I seriously doubt it will tempt new ones to watch again and certainly pubs and venues with TVs will notice the poor quality. Hence viewing figures will get hit over the season if it carries on like this.

  5. You're no oil painting yourself ...

Agreed and I would not be happy of camera kept on focusing on me. I am not saying she asked for it to happen and could well be p**sed off when she watches the meeting but the question still remains... why the hell did the producer keep on showing Miss Hancock standing there?

  6. It's really good to have speedway on BT Sport but whoever is directing the coverage needs to up his/her game. Camera angles not wide enough so we miss riders who are making attacking moves and, worse still, the director keeps changing the picture away from the real action. Instead we get a close up of one rider who is clear of the rest.

Shocking! Been watching at home and looks like being directed by a 5 year old. Missed so many of the passenger and exciting parts of the racing.

Also don't understand the constant close ups of Debbie Hancock.... Not relevant and certainly not attractive

  7. The BSPA have had plenty of time to come up with a race formula, if they couldn't work one out I'm sure they could have got someone else to sort it out, surely it's not rocket science!! Just another cock up to go with the many others the BSPA stumble through, it's beyond a joke now.

The Berwick and Scunthorpe fans have every right to be peeved and angry, they have been let down badly

I wonder what would have happened if Peterborough were in the bottom 2?

Seeded just like the SWC finalists I would imagine

  8.

BT sport have a televised meeting scheduled for Sept 4th, with semi play offs on 11th and 18th so probably Sept 4th.

I would hope BT sport would be prepared to push this back a week, in which case would allow us 7 more Wednesday's (or Thursday's if need be) to fit in the 7 remaining fixtures.

Let's hope this can be sorted as running two in one week or a double header is financial draining.

  9. One of you will have to break the ice face to face I guess Jonathan, I've never been in this situation before of falling out and not talking to my parents, try a letter by all means but if you can't ring ya Mum and Dad to offer help/your services, I can't see a letter working?

Trees old ground. This is not about fixing a relationship, this is about helping the club I love and the club my great grandfather started to survive.
