  1. Sounds like we've been well and truly f#cked over by Godfrey and his croneys AGAIN... He won't be happy until it's Scorpions vs Stags every week... Maybe he thinks the whole country will ascend on Scunthorpe to watch the only speedway still in operation.

How about we all boycott his club!! See how he likes being f#cked about

    1. big enough car park if you can get there for 6-6.30  EDIT - there are a few side roads near the stadium where you can park, but there is a lot of double yellows around!

    2. decent in what way? Racing wise or facility wise?

    3. £17 for adults u11's free, think they do student/oap concessions (might need proof idk)

    4. Should be fine for seating. I didn't get to the grandstand til 7.20pm last week ( they had roadworks on A338 that I didn't know about!) and they were still seating available.

    5. Chaos? As in everyone leaving at the same time? There are 2 exits, if you are a patient and relaxed driver then you'll be fine, it's not too bad!;)

Hi Lisa, thanks for your response. All of my questions though were directed at the car park :P Is it a decent car park? Plenty of spaces available? Obviously I dunno the area at all, so if I didn't get a space I wouldn't have a clue where to leave my car.

I have been to Poole once before a few years ago and I've got to say it's an amazing stadium, I sat in the seated stand along the back straight and it was a pleasurable evening, Vs Swindon with Doyle and Batchelor and I seem to remember Ellis Perks was really good that night too, also Rasmus Jensen. I forget who else was in the Poole team other than Jack and Brady. That night though I managed to get a hotel a 20 minute walk from the stadium so I just walked in and didn't really pay much attention to the car park tbh..

Also, does the car park cost anything to park in? If so, do I have to download one of these stupid parking apps that NEVER work? I don't mind a wait to get out the car park, I'm a pretty patient driver I would say, just didn't know how long. Also if there's a M+SDL meeting on after I would definitely stay for that. Dunno if Weymouth are running this season? I will be down for the Diamonds meeting and hopefully the bank holiday Sunday too vs Birmingham.

    FURTHER IMPORTANT FIXTURE INFORMATION

The home SGB Championship meeting due to take place on Sunday 29th August versus Eastbourne Eagles has now been POSTPONED until later in the season.

This is to allow the Eagles the time they need to sort out the advertised issues that are ongoing at the club at the present time.

We sincerely hope to have a re-staged fixture date announced very soon and from everyone here at Newcastle, we send all our best wishes to the promotion, team and supporters of Eastbourne

Really hope Eastbourne can pull through, their first home fixture, if there is ever another, and if I can attend, no work commitments etc, I'm going straight down, the support people from all over the country showed the Diamonds for the double header last week was amazing and now it's time to repay the compliment for a fellow team in struggles :( I sincerely hope Eastbourne pull through as they're an amazing club, with a full British line up!!

Heat 3 was a cracking race when Steve Worrall went off 15 and for the following reason... not one pass in the whole race yet you could have thrown a blanket over the four of them going over the line... the two diamonds were knocking on the door pushing Jensen all the way from both inside and out but neither Clegg nor Wright could switch off either with Worrall keeping both of those two on their toes and honest... good to watch and not a pass made...

Plus that Ludvig outside line is coming back and a few of the guys are having the confidence to go out wide as they are now getting something out of the track and that also builds on the excitement and the quality of racing and I can remember numerous passes in that meeting... all of the Newcastle team came to the party even the guest eventually and it was a thoroughly enjoyable meeting... to which Glasgow and the referee played their parts in contributing to the entertainment...

Just need a Ludvig back to come and show everyone how to perfect it :D Fingers crossed next year... Easily the most styling rider I've seen ride for the Diamonds (since 2008) I get that he was massively inconsistent, but I don't care... Them moes he did into bend 3 and 4 were just breath taking, and I've not seen anyone do it since he left  Please come back Ludvig, PLLEEEASSEEE

Well done to Newcastle, they fought hard in every race, shame that there wasn't more home support to enjoy the win, there was plenty Glasgow support . That is the best that I have seen Adam Roynon race, which is good to see considering how many awful injuries he has had. For my team, it was frustrating to see them so twitchy at the starts, the ref was holding the tapes for ages, again well done to the diamonds, hope you can consolidate and build some more support, would hate to lose another team

Couldnt have put it better myself... barely any fans there again... but a cracking meeting, one of the best for years at brough imo... Connor beating Steve so comfortably for the second week in a row and Adam's outside pass down the home straight were the highlights for me

Well if they score a point they will be better

But this season is a learning curve for Archie in preparation (hopefully) for next season. Were not going to do anything this year so what's the point in NOT giving Arvhue the experience and track time. Plenty of better options yes (Luke Ruddick or Ryan Kinsley seems the best ones) but why? Two rising stars next year remember, so Archue should be one of them, and he will have learned a lot by then hopefully from his half season this year :D

On another note, meeting of the season so far tonight!! Every single race was exciting and I dont remember a meeting like that for years.

Shame the crowd was so small... no one got to see how entertaining we were. Especially Adam, Max, Connor and Ben

Well done Archue for being so on the pace.

As for next week, parent Jake Mulford and Dan Gilkes both in the under 19s too? So Kent will be missing noth reserves and well ve missing one... all 3 are 1 star reserves too, so we need to act quick in getting the best one available before Kent do... Jordan Palin and Jenkins are presumably in under 19s also? Who else is available at 1 star. Greg Blair maybe?

    Honestly Ian

Being a former chauffeur to Mr English in the past I am sure you were told information that differed wildly from the press release and that the official comments and that those press releases were no where near the truth and lets say what was actually put out was more diplomatic and a little bit sanitised than the true events of what went on and I may get a wrist slapping for this but hey ho...

So here it is as far as I know... from the start of the season and over the last two months or so (and from Matty getting injured) the club have tried for Kenneth and Lasse Bjerre; Ludvig Lingren and Claus again (twice) also Rene Bach and we have even asked about trying to get Kenni Larsen's licence back but all to no avail... also when the Visa issues started with Claus feelers were put out to Martin Smolinski and Adam Skornicki; certain avenues were explored and even UK access sponsorship and Elite Sports Person's visas were looked into for all these riders. There were also three other riders two Danes and one Swede who were approached but ruled out coming to Newcastle from the start and these contacts were not taken any further.

We had to all intents and purposes Troy Batch signed on as we believed we were the only side in the league who could fit him in then Kent got the jump on us so that went out of the window and we have also tried Rohan Tungate; Brady Kurtz and Luke Bekker and finally Dan Bewley and Dan was the only one we got near to be fair but his Polish team are in the play offs and he couldn't afford a Mickey Mouse injury at Brough jeopardising those play off finals especially with what his Polish team has invested in him so that stopped him...

Ellis Perks; Bradley Wilson Dean; Josh Auty and Josh Bates are amongst others who the promotion have talked to...

Wages and travel costs have never ever in any of the guys mentioned above been an issue... Work permits; Visas; Sunday racing and Poland were all the primary issue for the foreign riders and as far as the riders already here their issues have been as stated above or different again on personal grounds...

That's SEVENTEEN riders they have tried to bring in that I know about and there have been others on top of those named above... However the club now being run by consummate professionals would never reveal such things would they; however me being a "Merchant Banker" who doesn't give a "Rats Behind" and is too big to hit... well... there you go...

I can also confirm that the riders wages are all up to date and riders are paid according to contract and they get everything they are entitled to... any issues are resolved immediately and the promotion are having to re-build the clubs reputation with regards to this matter following on from the mess that the previous shower left and those same people who although used to cry foul when other clubs were slow paying riders proved to be just as bad and if not worse than the worst of them carrying out the same practice with riders still owed monies at the start of the next season... So your belief Ian that wages and costs are the issue are wrong... Totally Wrong...

    Regards
    THJ

Oops I forgot one make that EIGHTEEN as another one they got quite a way down the "contract talks" track with was Hans Andersen however another one who cited that Sunday and Poland was a problem... not the offer...

Makes you wonder what Peter Kildemand and Rasmus Jensen are up to...? Not sure of Peter's Polish commitments, I know Rasmus rides for Gdansk (I think) Dunno how Gdansk are looking for playoffs? BUT Rasmus has ridden in the uk recently, so surely a visa could be sorted relatively easily?

They weren't for the club as the deal had been done... and Claus wouldn't comitt to Newcastle and said his Danish team would come first unless he got a second British club... he wanted to come in and out of the country as per the old days... pre Brexit...  which at that time would have meant that his availability could not be guarenteed... there was also other outside interference that dictated the action taken... if you were aware of the European riders this promotion have approached you would be astounded...

They have tried for six Scandinavians and five British based riders (in the last 6 weeks) all to no avail and cost has never come into the mix... neither wages or travel expenses... there's one thing for sure this guy pays his riders as per contract unlike the previous shower who run the spot... who still owed money to 4 of the 7 at the end of their last season and left this promotion to pay the bill...

It's just another sorry saga in Diamonds history that this new promotion have had to contend with but with the support that come to the for this weekend hopefully Rob will feel revitalised from the good will and support he received and he carries on fighting the good fight...

The show of support on Sunday was absolutely fantastic just a pity the team couldn't rise to the challenge and my only wish would have been to race against Plymouth first then Poole and although I still think Poole would have been good for the points it would have been a bit closer (and two heats shorter) but never mind it was a fantastic turn out...

Just need half of those in attendance this week to come back next week and build from there and it will be a different story next year that's for sure... although three quarters would be better...

    Regards

    THJ

Would be interested to know who all of these riders we have approached are? Just out of curiosity more than anything, always nice to know what's happened
