    Plymouth Gladiators 2021

Some really interesting comments on this post and it’s nice for us Plymouth fans to be able to post on the championship part of the forum. the idea of crump going around the SBA is big but points allowed could be a stumbling point. I think it would be harsh to have a go at us if we were not to put together a strong team considering most riders have already been put together a year ago. Even Barker signed elsewhere for a guarantee pay check as it’s still not confirmed by the BSPA we are in this league. I think the league are crazy that they haven't snapped Plymouth’s hand off to be in the league. I think mark has been one of the most committed people to speedway over the last few years and the time and effort he’s put in deserved reward. He built a big new stand that cost good money he put a very competitive team together for last season national league team. ive no doubt Plymouth with mark and mattie will put together a strong team even with the handicap of having to build the team a year after everyone else. I think Atkins would be a good shout apart from that I’m going to need to check the confirmed teams to see who’s available.

    Plymouth speedway

http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/thread/10075/rider-rode-plymouth-plymouths-average For anyone that’s interested on the Plymouth forum I worked out the statics for last season for every home and away rider at the arena. This was inspired by the film moneyball based on a real story with a baseball club who bought players on pure stats. interestingly working on stats throws a team up that would be different to the one I would normally have.

    AGM

Very good point. If you are in a strong group may as well stop your season at the start having have to play them more. Better of having a 20 team league playing each other home and away once. Then once the league has finished the top 10 go in to the premiership play off final 1 v 10, 2 v 9 etc etc. Then winner of that is the premiership champion. The other 10 will then compete for the championship crown. 11th vs 20th and so on and so on. Only one team per rider no doubling up etc. Each team must then Also have a junior team of NDL standard riders ( 4 per team ) to compete in the meeting afterwards. 3 riders must be under 21 the 4th can be any age. But the team should help being around all the other riders and learning off them. Should any of your riders be unavailable apart from 1 and 5 you can only use from your Devleopment team. ( but can move your team around so that they go into reserve.

    AGM

But they should be able to make a choice now. The point is however It shouldn’t even come down to if newcastle can and if Plymouth can’t. For the future of speedway all teams should be accepted where they wanted Imagine the up roar if Poole were told to stay in the premiership making it an 8 team league. And Plymouth getting promoted to the championship. Unfortuntly it seems if you are not a “big” team you not of use.

    AGM

What’s the what’s the point in the AGM then ? The clubs knew that they had to say if they could or could not compete in the league they wish next season. If newcastle cant commit then how can they be allowed to be in the championship. Its also hardly fair on Plymouth to be told they could be national league now and then suddenly 2/3 months down the line to be told they are championship and being that far behind all the other teams. Speedway needs an independent control board.

    AGM

If it’s because they don’t want the national league to not have enough teams, then why would anyone want to run in a league that they can never get out off. So next year has gone from wat hing someone like Craig cook around the SBA to some newby wobbler who won’t be within half a lap of the heatleader.

    AGM

Class, Plymouth not accepted. Shame speedways slowly dying if they don’t want to accept teams wanting to go up leagues.
  12. With us confirming ( everything’s ready just BSPA acceptance at the AGM) we have applied to join the Championahip which I’m delighted about. As a bit of fun I’ve added my rough idea of two teams built to the rumoured 42.50 limit. I appreciate the reality of these teams is unlikely with the cost of riders involved and that other team will be wanting these riders, but they would be a very good teams around Plymouth. 1- Rasmus Jensen 9.05 2- Ellis Perks 6.40 3- Ricky wells 7.05 4- ty proctor 6.84 5- Ben barker 7.24 6- drew kemp 3.58 7- Richard Andrews 2.00/Atkins 2.30 1- Richard Lawson 8.32 2- max Clegg 5.05 3- Ricky wells 7.05 4-Steve Worrall 7.57 5- Ben barker 7.24 6- Stephan Nielsen 4.51 7- rich Andrews/ Atkins 2-2:3

    Plymouth 2019

Really glad to see Plymouth returning to the tapes in 2019. Team plans are already well under way and we have named 4 from 7. The next three signings to be announced over the next three days. So so far we have 1 - 2 - Adam Extance 3:77 3 - 4 - 5 - Nathan Stoneman 7:61 6 - Adam Sheaprd 2:80 (possibly a 3 possibly a 2 average ) 7 - James Bursill - 2:00 This leaves: 18:82 for the final 3 I think Richard Andrews, Ryan Terry Daley and Ben Wilson would be a good final 3 fit. Possibly Another apart from RTD. however I think there could be another couple of suprise signings.

    Plymouth v Kent 5th

Could it be a sort of we shall say work is happening on the track even though there is nothing wrong with the track. Just so those people that spread there have been issues with the track think we are doing something so that they come back. in what is our normal routine.

NL Fours 7th July (now 13th)

In regards to Chessell it was on Plymouth’s Facebook page as a 28 day injury cover for Stoneman. honestly think stokes to lose with the three heat leaders they have. Kent will be strong as well, I’ll go stoke first Kent second. Third and fourth between Mildenhall and Leicester.

    Averages

I’m sure this has been done before to death However could someone update me on if a current championship rider wanted to be signed by a national league team ( whilst they have a national league average last season) what average is used and after how many meetings.?!

    Plymouth 2019

I think it has something to do with former gladiator cobra ( Steve Luxton) who owns cobra garage mahal. So so I think this a change in names much like a sponsorship. I believe as a Plymouth fan it is a good move we have made huge strides forward since some promoters under the devils name who put the devils name in bad lights especially around the Plymouth area. more money better contacts threw Steve And a fresh era in a fresh year makes sense. I agree had it been a random rebranding without linking it to cobra and the gladiators then something linking it with the city would have been good. I’d have also liked the colourway to involve green like most of the other sporting teams in Plymouth. overall I’m happy with the change.

    Plymouth 2019

    So updated now is ..... 1 - 2 - Adam Exstance 3:77 3 - Scott Campos 6:28 4 - 5 - Nathan Stoneman 7:61 6 - Adam Sheapard 2:01 7 - Jamie Bursill - 2:00 With the points remaining I’d like to see Richard Andrews at 4 and Ben Wilson at 1.

    Converted Averages

Hi, Could anyone please tell me the following.... A) How the conversion works for championship average to national if a rider rides in the premiership are the eligible to ride at any average in the national league or if their championship average is day above 6 they are not allowed to ride in the prem. Thanks for any help

    Converted Averages

So could a nationally league team have jame Sargent in their team ?! So could a nationally league team have jame Sargent in their team ?!
  21. Doners123

    Converted Averages

So does that mean hames Sargent would be on a 6.66 average ?! And Simon lambert a 9.12 average ?

    Plymouth V Mildenhall 27th October

Embarassing by mildenhall really finally score was 64-25 I think. They had 4 racers at the start of the meeting. And one does not even win in the SDL development league on a regular basis. Apparently they tried to cancel the meeting during the week and Laurence even said on the mic that he personally went and got Wilson or shuttleworth and offered them to them and they said no. Speedway needs to change and soon ! Well done plymouthriding threw injuries to come as a team and complete the final meeting. Hopefully speedway at Plymouth in 2018.
