maybe his demands arnt what they once were

Been confirmed Redcar are running on a budget this year and his demands will still be excessive, especially for us, maybe that’s the reason why he doesn’t ride over here often, prices himself out of the league

5.20 and 5.00. both (whoever the second one is) should be capable of holding those figures. If they come close I'm sure most Bears fans will be happy. Like we've been told, its about building for the future. Don't worry, I have faith that it will be a good season  :)

Hopefully it is a good season and that all those fans that came back this season come back next season too, last thing redcar needs is for fans to walk away again

From the little I've seen of MBA,and some of his results, I think he will do OK. Said to be better than JBA. You have to remember the new rules mean we got him on a bargain 5.20 and not the 7 we would have had to use last season.

I’ve worked with both of them, great lads, great riders but 1st time round on all the tracks, we shouldn’t be relying on them to score big

Yeah that's what I thought, but the stats don't add up now. Cant see us been to far short of reaching 42.50 so maybe we are miles off the mark.

What we lose out on the three heat leaders we should make up for at second string and reserve.

Our second strings haven’t ridden UK tracks before so we can’t expect too much from them, hopefully they both come into the side and score well, our season depends on them, if they struggle, we will be in for a bad season, we should be okay at reserve if Tobi comes back the rider he was before the crash last season

  5. 33 minutes ago, cheekycobra said:

I cant see any team having three heat leaders unless you class Vissing at Glasgow, Covatti at Ipswich, Wright at Sheffield or Ellis at Lakeside. So JBA wont be a heat leader really, just a strong second string with Kus or whoever as second heat leader.

I thought I had the team roughly sussed, until a rumour came out that the new asset wont be at reserve. We will see in time :)

Wright is a great heatleader though, look at Charles and Jonas this season for redcar, you can’t say jonas is on the same level as him, and we will be expecting jonas to go out and do what Charles done for us this year, Sheffield will have Howarth, Bjerre and Charles, Ipswich have King, Schlein and Covatti, Glasgow have Worrall, Harris and Vissing, lakeside have Morris, Lawson and Ellis, Scunthorpe have Worrall, Garrity and Auty, all have 3 decent heatleaders, if Kus is the signing to be announced, then ours will be Barker, Kus and Jonas, Kus is only on a 7.64 average because he learnt the Newcastle track and most away riders struggle so he’d get easy 5-1s with Ludvig (my opinion he will be a 6.5/7 pointer by the end of the season) and as I’ve said jonas struggled with consistency as a second string this season, so god knows why we would put him at number 3 next season, hopefully he can do a good job but if he has a poor run of form at number 3, some fans will be calling for him to be dropped, and it will be down to him being thrown in to a heatleader position when he isn’t ready for it yet, too much pressure on my opinion and then the last 2 riders in the main body haven’t ridden our tracks before except Mikkels 1 meeting at the Silver Helmet in 2015

What did you think the team was? I thought Kus, BWD and Jordy Stewart were gonna be the last 3, that was until Ben Duffill said the new asset was gonna be in the main body, so ruled out BWD, so we know our number 6 is between 4.23 and 4.99, hopefully it’s Greaves or Jacobs, have a feeling it will be Tobi though

and nothing wrong with barker at no1

im sure a few clubs wouldnt mind him as there no1

I agree, I’m happy with Barker at 1, its the positioning of other riders in the team that worries me, Jonas as a heatleader and the 2 new boys in the main body, we should of built the team with Jonas at 4 again, Mikkel at 2 and the new 5.00 at reserve, Jonas had quite an inconsistent year, and now has the pressure of scoring heatleader scores every meeting, and nobody knows how the 2 new boys are gonna go

With an average of 8.81 and 9.23 to fill, it certainly looks like a new No 1 is heading to the MPA in 2018. Looking forward to cheering the Bears on again in 2018.

Don’t think we can afford a new number 1, it’s been said all along that this team will be run on a budget, so don’t expect anything special, Barker will be number 1

Andersson will be a good addition to the league; think he will be the best of the 3 newcomers to the league (marginally ahead of Hartel, and more than marginally better than Lindman), and will likely be the third heat leader. He almost replaced Kurtz at Plymouth a few seasons ago, but finances played their part, from what I remember.
Reckon he will average 6, maybe bit more if he takes a liking to Armadale.

Quite like the rest of the side too actually. It doesn't have the wow factor of some previous Edinburgh sides, but looks like an intriguing side, and just needs one of Andersson/M Riss /Pickering to really make the third heat leader position their own to be a serious contender.

Is he better than Mikkel B Andersen?

With young Bewley and Bickley in the side the Worky fans have alot to look forward to in the season ahead.Bewley he really has impressed me he has a real racing brain and i will be amazed if he does not put 1.5/2 points on his average this year.Bickley it will be tough but he is dedicated has good aquipment has a great team(dad) etc) and he will be fine for me the main thing for Kyle is to enjoy his racing the rest will follow.I hope this trend will follow now in the Championship young Brits getting a prolonged run at this level it was great last year to see the likes of Hume, Mountain, Bowtell, Wood really make progress as a supporter i really like to see young riders make it up the ladder.

Yeah and Ellis Perks, most improved rider of the year is now froze out of riding in this country because his average is deemed too high in all 3 leagues, you can’t implement a rule to bring in young brits then take that rule away the following year, as those young riders that had the chance get over looked for foreigners, Ellis lost his place at Redcar for an unknown Aussie on the same average, what happened to backing the brits? Hopefully Bickley does well as like it’s been said he has good backing and his career is going up but he may find it hard going up against some teams with 4/5 pointers at number 7, just hope it doesn’t knock his confidence

Have to admit though fair play. Who'd have thought such a simple red herring to keep people guessing and hide the secret of who the big reveals at the crimbo party would be would cause such a kerfuffle.

Was supposed to be abit if harmless fun, didn’t expect to become forum famous for it

Just a reminder of some of  the things that did say about Newcastle even though you can't remember. It shows you were a regular contributor on the Newcastle thread quoting things that were happening and insinuating things relating to George. Very convenient you can't remember, but as other have said, you're one thick, attention seeking individual who cant be trusted to be on the inside of any club. No team deserves you to be an inside team member.

Apols to Redcar for our intervention, but things had to be said. Now you know, I think this thread should get back to the original heading "Redcar 2018"

Thanks for finding that for me, much appreciated :D

Not annoyed in the least but if you are in the position you say you are this potentially could have caused problems . Anyway as someone has said time to move on.

Explain to me what problems could of been caused? He had already signed for Redcar, me posting on a public forum was not gonna change that, but yes, let’s move on, some people have took this joke way too far, I appreciate the few that could see it was a harmless joke, it was fun while it lasted

So it's only speculation now, right ok so you didn't know anything you claimed to know even Jenga is ripping the p*ss out you (no offence Jenga) but that is where you are now.

I speculated with my team selections but I’ve been told I can’t do that because I help a rider out, I just want to know what I can and can’t say on this PUBLIC forum, I’ve not revealed any real secrets, just abit of fun and games, nice to see people getting annoyed and turning to personal insults though, real mature

But if you are a Redcar fan or at least someone with a connection, why would you take pleasure in winding up fans with deliberate false statements - stating that JBA would not be returning was a lie - why say anything? All you have done is make Redcar fans question JBA because if he can appoint such a cretin as his mechanic, you have to worry about him.

As stated above I’m not allowed to class myself as a mechanic, I am a ‘semi skilled fitter’ but thanks for taking time out of your day to reply to a cretin like myself, I feel soooo privileged, see you next season, as for fans questioning JBA, I knew he was getting announced on Friday so people would of only been guessing for a few days, no harm done

A fan with 'inside' information. That's the difference.  I'm in a similar situation to yourself.  I'm a fan, but who has a minor job in the pits and writes a column in the Raceday Magazine every week at Newcastle.  I hear 'privileged information,' both on a Sunday (or at away meetings) or in telephone conversations.  The last thing I'd be doing is posting on here with false (or certainly not true) info, because, despite what you say, harm could be done.

The only inside information I had was that jonas had signed for redcar, I never leaked that information as it’s not my place to do so, I had a bit of fun to try and doubt peoples theories, I dont see the problem, no harm was done, it hasn’t ruined any secrets or team plans, what harm could of been done? jonas had already signed his contract, no team could then approach him even if they wanted to, hasn’t affected redcars plans or any other teams for that matter, the redcar promoter laughed about the posts id written and I’ve had no messages from any other promoters telling me I’m in the wrong, as far as I’m concerned, some fans on here are just bitter and can’t take a joke, it’s Christmas, they need to get into the holiday spirit, not moan because they potentially believed false info :D merry Christmas to you all from Team JBA;)

Tell him next season in the pits he will be close to you!!

I hope you’re not posting club business on this forum, as people have said, we should leave this kinda stuff to the promoters, I’m in trouble with a lot of people on here for telling porkies about a signing

If I was still running a speedway I would have kicked your arse for you.  Fans can speculate with their wishes or what they know. Riders and especially a hired hand like a mechanic, should leave the business to the promoters who's business it is.

I would remind other readers of theses post, that this poster is the same poster who published what was going on at Newcastle  in October, when Alan Hedley was about to quit the Diamonds. That was internal business, his post wasn't banter, but more attempt to get himself known as a part privileged knob with some information but wanted to big up what he knew. in any business, you don't want an internal mouth blabbing to the forum, to make himself look big and informed.  I said at the time it was a mechanic who was blabbing and it didn't take long for me to find out who it was.

Beware Kevin and all at Redcar, some will love it, but he will do no good to your business.

I’m only a fan at the end of the day who helps a rider out, as stated earlier, I’m not even a mechanic, I’m a fitter, so what makes me any different to a fan? Why can’t I speculate and have freedom of speech like a fan? I don’t get told team news, I only get told when my rider has signed, and where did I post about Alan?, as I honestly can’t remember saying that, not saying I didn’t say it as I did hear something was going on but I don’t remember putting it on here, if I did say something I’d of said something like ‘rumour has it’ as I didn’t even know the full details myself

  18. 4 minutes ago, ch958 said:

it wasn't banter though - he claimed authority for a statement which he knew to be false. He could have caused problems - they may have appeared available to other promoters for example. If i was promoter or manager he'd be in trouble. Needs to keep it shut if he's in a trusted position. Well the management know he's not trustworthy now.

Yes fans come on here and speculate - they do not claim authority and thats the difference

Yeah coz I heard promoters and managers scout rider availability on the speedway forum, other promoters would of known he had signed for redcar, if they were seriously interested in jonas, they’d of contacted him directly where he would of told them he was at redcar, don’t think promoters would trust a username on a public forum, plus I know the redcar promoter, I was stood talking to him last night at redcar racenight and he didn’t say what I done was wrong, infact he had a little laugh about it, like it has been said by cheekycobra, Ben Barker posted on Facebook at the start of last season he didn’t have a speedway team but he had already signed for redcar at the time, is he also in the wrong? as other promoters would of seen that and thought he was free to approach, sounds like you are all bitter because you believed my red herring, no harm was done, it didn’t affect anything, move on with life

you got any paperwork to say you are a mechanic or not , if not , then you are classed as semi skilled. not a proper mech . somehow i cant see you stripping engines and repairing frames/diamonds etc . more of a fitter , fitting new parts for old worn ones .

have you changed a tyre yet ?

Well if that’s how you describe us, then yes I’m a ‘fitter’ and yes, fit tyres every meeting as it’s in the rulebook that it needs to be done at the track

Barker did the same last season. Posted he wasn't signed up and was looking for a club had everyone's team predictions in uproar.

    Then what happened...

He’s a rider though, must be alright for him to do it, I’m just a mechanic

Looks like the fun police are coming out the woodwork. A bit of fun and a few red herrings, so what.

Atleast someone understands the concept of banter and a joke, if we didn’t have abit of fun the world would be a boring place

  22. 7 minutes ago, Tsunami said:

I think mechanics should do just that, instead of trying to make their promoter's job harder.

Butt out, before you become a pain in the arse, and get banned by a promotion.

Redcar fans will sure remember you during the season.

Banned? What for? Technically not done anything against the rules, I’m just a fan that just so happens to be a mechanic aswell, I’m not contracted to anyone so I can say whatever I want just like every other fan can, what’s the difference between me saying something about a rider on this forum and everybody else? And how have I made the promoters job harder? Jonas had already signed, how was me saying something on here gonna disrupt that in any way? And as for ‘mechanics should do just that’ if I have to stick to being a mechanic why can’t fans ‘do just that’ and stick to being fans not sit on here talking about who their team should and should not sign, that’s a promoters/managers job to sort out, as I’ve said above, yes I am a mechanic but I am also a fan just like you and everyone else on here
