It’s one of those teams that you look at on paper, and 9 from 10 people will say yep, that’s decent that.

But I see what you see, and ageing team in part and others a team that is really quite average. I rate BWD highly, and that’s a great coup for the panthers, but aside I see a team that will fall short.

Dont get me wrong, in a 7 team league that will include a water carrier like Ipswich, it is going to be involved in a play off chat, but I think that’s as far as it goes.

The way people are talking, you would think they are favourites for the division.

I just don’t see it. I see a decent enough team but one that will ultimately miss the mark.

You are more than welcome to add you're opinions and it's rather pleasing that you rate Panthers as also ran's , equally we are more than happy to be classed as underdogs , that will suit us just fine, I love that feeling.

I take it we will have a team with second strings and reserves,, something like King Lawson Kennett Allen Summers Heeps Oystercard/Doolan

Not sure how far under the limit that is,, but not many riders around in the bargain basement catagory either.

Maybe Simon Lamberts news is just more personal based,  he did get married this year????

Lynn  fans will soon be out of there suspenders, will it be a cock up or not, wherever Simon lands up I wish all the best for an injury free season . I would like to wish all speedway fans, riders all others connected in the sport a happy new year

Simon Lambert has said he isn't back at Kings Lynn or Peterborough next season. It was win the Speedway Star a couple of weeks ago.

That was a couple of weeks ago which was maybe correct then , so I would imagine things have changed since then, can't imagine he would go to Ipswich though as it is definitely not one of his favourite tracks as anyone who has seen him ride there would instantly know.

This side with a terrific top four will take some beating at home, they also will pick points up on the road.Wolves and Swindon have assembled the best two sides at the moment with Belle Vue close up. Don't know what all the fuss is about the Dad's Army Peterborough side can't see that ageing team winning the title.

The only fuss I can see seems to be coming from certain opposing teams fans , and your  Dads Army comment I think is very disrespectful to those riders concerned considering they have been entertaining fans for a number of years with a fair amount of success to show for it. For myself I am very happy with the team assembled and take nothing for granted as long as I am entertained in the right manner and as long as it is competitive I will be more than happy .

    Indeed.

If we ridden on paper tracks we may as well close the betting on Peterborough.

Of course in reality, and to those with a little more knowledge, know that it won’t necessarily play that way on the track ;-)

Panthers found that out in the championship in 2018 . Finished top of the league but won nothing apart from the fours  so I really don't think your superior knowledge of how the season will pan out  means anything  as we are all well aware of the pitfalls along the way  , you are happy with you're side  and Panthers fans are happy with ours end of , so enjoy the season ahead and forget about the bragging rites as they mean nothing.

If Peterborough are not sold before the season starts it’s rumoured that two heat leaders will have to agree to busters pay terms rather than geds terms or they won’t be riding for Peterborough.

Just where did you acquire this information from  as I think you might need to change you're duff fake news spreader is he the same person who seems to think Scott Nicholls wouldn't accept an offer from Ipswich as he would take it as an insult . the whole lot seems to me that you've been well and truly hoodwinked.  On a separate issue I do feel for the Ipswich fans who are being given the mushroom effect by the management, and at the same time think it's o/k to put season tickets on sale when you have little idea of what sort of quality of riders you will be supporting. poor way of doing business IMO , hardly encouraging at a time when they should be doing everything possible publicity wise to make the step up to the premier league.

Premier League team building suits him much better than Championship

2018 team finished top of the table and maybe would have won trophies without the acute end of season injuries , but looking back previous to that , yes I would question some of the team building . Maybe it has something to do with Neil Watson coming on board as a co promoter replacing Trevor Swales as it seems to coincide with the changeover .

Just to flip it. If you was a Lynn fan,  would you be wondering  WTF is going on ;)

I certainly would , communication with fans during the winter break is vital in my opinion  Buster should be keeping fans up to date with what is going on and not using the mushroom effect but I believe that's the Buster way ,its not exactly mouth watering  at all .

I take it he goes well Steve. Never seen Cookie at the Showground, but I can imagine him going well around there as well.

Charles Wright got a 15 point max in 2017  .Nobody got anywhere near him and wasn't far short of one in 2018.   You are not far out with Cookie either , at least four the seven have had full maximums around the showground maybe as many as six of them without checking up I cant be sure.

It really does not matter what any other team says about the Panthers side as I have not heard a single complaint from our fans. Firstly I am a fan of speedway and whether we win the league or not does not matter but would be the icing on the cake. What I do know is that I am looking forward to being entertained with this team so bring it on.

My sentiments exactly it does not matter what opposing fans think , nothing is won on paper anyway, there's a few miles to cover before it is decided who the top four to go in the play offs are and fortune and misfortune will play a part for all teams along the way, but with the assembled team we have it should provide top class entertainment .

Here's a quiz question: When was the last time Panthers fans saw the quote "it’s a team we wanted" and actually thought that they'd settle for that without question as well? It's over a decade at least but management have cracked it this time ;)

Well done to the Panthers promotion for astute planning , it looks a very good side on paper but unfortunately nothing is won on paper with luck and injuries that cannot be foreseen along the way as they found out towards the end of 2018 . I think its the best team planning I have ever seen at Peterborough , there doesn't appear to be any weak links IMO .  So well done Ged & co excellent team planning.

I’ll happily be amongst a minority. That’s sits  fine with me. I’ve made a solid case, and a lot like the Rye team a couple years back, many thought they’d fair well. They ended up doing nothing of note. I was right then, and I’ll be right again ;-)

Sound's like you are one of those people who are always right. There is another name for that but I wont be abusive towards you.

I pulled it last week and I’ll say it again. I really don’t rate that team. I think it’s a busted flush. Wilson Dean has some potential to really improve but otherwise I think that is bang average. Full of riders either past it, getting past it, or just your average Joe. Also seriously lacking a number 1.

As an opposing supporter you seemed to be worried far more than any Panthers supporters about the Peterborough  team , I wonder why.

I am sure he will be better than that, saw him ride at Poole guesting for Somerset and thought he did pretty well.

Well I hope it works out for your team , but for a rider who rode for Panthers 2016 and was signed on an average of just over 7 from Rye House and was expected to be challenging for the NO1 spot and he didn't manage to last out the season and was replaced about August time as his scores seemed to be getting worse week in week out being beaten by opposing reserves on a regular basis. So when fans say he's been around awhile and not improving I can see where they are coming from . At first  I thought he was a good capture and looked impressive but somewhere along the way he seems to have stagnated but I do hope he does get to grips with it and looks like the rider he once was.

I disagree the times i have seen him i have been quite impressed not a bad signing at all.

You obviously did not see him riding for Berwick at the showground in 2018 or you might have a different opinion. Only hope the Poole track suits him better.
