    Gardening Back !!!!!

Just get professional and make every club use a 2minute countdown clock. Then that ends all arguments. Not ready for tapes at time zero - excluded. Plus no rider to replace that rider. I saw a rider in Poland last year arrive at start with 20secs left. He was called forward by start marshal. Rider came to tapes then backed off to adjust his goggles and clock hit 0.00. Referee immediately excluded him. This rider had also been excluded for touching tapes earlier. When he got back into the pits the Club manager sacked him on the spot. Told him to f..k off and don’t try collect his pay before leaving the city. Rest of team knew then that 2 minute clock meant 2 minutes.

    Poole 2018

Lot of supporters questioning the rights/wrongs of Poole signing Kildeman and earlier the 2 Poles. A great sign or ringers, each will have an opinion. However for next season to prevent this. BSPA at the end of October should have a list of every speedway rider worldwide. Each rider is given his current end of season UK average. Non UK riders an assessed average depending on leagues they ride in. This list is then published for promoters / supporters etc. Any rider who wishes to appeal his average then has 5 days to appeal to a BSPA panel. Panel makes final decision and this official BSPA average list is published at the latest 1st November. Promoters team building, use this list and no changes or acceptions can be made. Each year same procedure. Riders, promoters, supporters all will know where they are.
  5. SCB 2018 rule that “riders must remain astride their machine when ‘gardening’ at the start-line. As we saw/heard last night in the first meeting of the season at Belle Vue, 3 riders excluded having got off their bikes to prepare their start position. Riders/managers complaining of this rule. I believe rule possibly brought in to speed meetings up. But it doesn’t. Riders in my opinion should be able to prepare their start position, have a cup of tea or what ever within the 2 minutes allotted time. As in Poland a digital clock should be placed by the start, the referee starts the 2min. count down and if a rider not ready, then he is excluded. This system should be in place for all leagues in all countries. Same rule everywhere.

    Poole 2018

I agree - has BSPA agreed Kildemand can ride for Poole. Good but craft move by Ford to replace a 7pt rider with a 9pt one and still be within limit.

    2018 Regulations

So I understand Fricke was interviewed afterwards. All riders pre the meeting were told of new rule by their team managers. He forgot when at tapes as everywhere else you can get off bike to garden. Old habits he said. Stupid rule anyway. 2minute digital clock at start. Every league / country the same. But I can guess promoters reaction to clock. “But we can’t afford one “ FfS

    For or against team suits

Hold in each hand a cheap printed suit and a suit made by Maliniak, KW, WK etc. with all logos individually sewn on. It becomes obvious then why their suits are at a premium price. As with all things in life you get what you pay for.

    Kings Lynn 2018..

I can’t stop laughing - is this a wind up! I can’t believe anyone in Stars management really thinks this is good. Unbelievable as we travel back in time to 1970’s Don’t wish to be negative but this is absolute s h i t !!

    For or against team suits

I’m not criticising anyone. I just prefer team suits and yes you are right some Swedish, Danish teams and WC teams don’t have team suits. Though teams in Sweden and Poland we have ridden for have always supplied team suit.

    For or against team suits

I think it’s a personal choice. I prefer team suits, you perhaps don’t and that’s your choice. In Poland this year we are also have team bike covers, which perhaps will make it even harder for fans. However the design of team suits and bike covers have a nice twist, which I’m certain the Rzeszow fans will like once they are revealed. This design will make each individual rider stand out from his team mate.

    Poole 2018

I agree Steve. When I do Nicklas suits (though he doesn’t like the neck brace and doesn’t use ) Thought is given to position of logos and size of them. As you know from your photos, his logos always stand out so his sponsors logos are prominent when photos posted on social media. That way we can go back to sponsors to show coverage they got and can also be used in discussions with potential sponsors.

It’s no trade secret - Nicolai Klindt, I just asked him how many suits did Poole supply you with in 2016. He said one, same with all the team. The Danish rider I manage, rode in Uk 2013-2016 and the 2 teams he rode for only supplied him with one suit per season.

    Poole 2018

Just had conversation with a 2016 Poole rider. Each rider was supplied with ONE set of Club kevlars. As he said “ why would I need 2 sets”

    For or against team suits

What should riders wear then, jeans and T shirts. You come off a speedway bike and as your arse is torn off, you can be thinking “I’m glad Club didn’t fritter any money away on my protection “ Its a professional sport, so Club should supply each rider with a good quality Kevlar team suit. Riders have to supply all other equipment, bikes, helmets, under protection etc. Certain Hamilton doesn’t supply his own F1 car, fire suit etc. Rooney doesn’t buy his own football shirt and has to bring a ball to play with. Ok some will say there isn’t the same money in speedway as F1 / football. There isn’t I agree, but is the sport professional or not. If a Club can’t afford this, well they shouldn’t be running as a professional speedway club and if all can’t afford it, British speedway should be an amateur sport and let the Poles, Swedes and Danes run professional speedway.

    Poole 2018

I’ve never known any team supply a rider with 2 kevlar suits in a season. If the suit got damaged would have repaired/sewn patches etc. or during a meeting gaffa tape does the job. Re logos on Kevlars, in my experience team send rider a template design of the suit. Official team sponsors logos are in place on suit or the positions are marked as reserved for team sponsor logos. Riders then can place personal sponsor logos in the unreserved spots.

    For or against team suits

See Lynn are going with team kevlars, as NKI just posted Instagram video of it in the pits in Torun. Don’t know if this was on purpose or accidental.

    Poole 2018

£12000 I would assume was not 7 riders, but plus others who replaced riders during the season. When it comes to Kevlar suits there are some good quality and some very poor quality ones. A good quality one with leather logos sewn on rather than printed on suit will cost over £1000 + vat
  23. DWP

    Poole 2018

My point was not the cost of the suit for the rider as his clubs pay for them 100%. It was, that I can understand Matt Ford not doing team suits as he has to pay for them. Actually in Poland/Denmark/Sweden more like 15/20x worn. UK speedway needs to find cost cutting measures and race suits is one way of making a saving.
  24. DWP

    Poole 2018

Just sent in completed designs with sponsor logos for Kevlar suits for Polish and Danish team. Not surprised Matt Ford and possibly other teams not doing race suits. A Kevlar suit with sewn leather logos from Maliniak, KW, WK etc. Handmade in Poland is well over £1000 each. Can buy cheaper printed suits but don’t like as more like pyjamas.

    Race Nights

Denmark has always been Wednesday nights. Varde are fridays there also. I guess any teams with Danes, very few Brits ride Danish league, will be have to continue using guests when Danes are required to race at home. Poland due to TV coverage will mainly continue to be Sunday, but some meetings Friday and Saturday to fulfill TV commitments. Again though a few Brits signed in Poland, most are on Warsaw contracts and will never ride unless injury replacements needed.
