What are you talking about? In a league that only allows 1 rider of 8 points, and has the budget of a high school disco, the only chance teams have of winning is pulling foreign riders of unknown quantities out of the hat. The team that picks the right riders will win. Simple as it gets.

To be fair, he said "It’s not money, no one should read that into it. It’s nothing to do with finances.", and what you're suggesting is very much to do with finance, so I cannot imagine it is that.

They'd be better off calling it the Poole select, but definitely a formidable side. But of course Chris is still going to go to Poole.

Don't forget he also smashed Darcy's track record in Torun. I didn't think that would ever be beaten.

I thought Poole and Somerset had a very good relationship? I remember Somerset to Poole being the natural progression for riders Matt Ford was interested in back when Somerset were in the second division.

He says the arrangement with Holder isn't about money. He didn't say he need's to sell his assets, he said that it looks like he be losing 20% of his turnover due to a lack of profitable TV deal and could look at selling assets.

Should bring Crumpy back! He'd still walk over most the competition in this league.

But it is irrelevant when you do not know how to reassess them. If you default to reassessing all riders with an average so high that the risk of signing them is too high to take, then you make a league where we slowly exclude every rider that misses a season in the country. The reason Steve0 made himself look so stupid is that he doesn't actually have a clue whether or not the riders need to be reassessed, he just wants the outcome that benefits his team most.

... You said it was either going to backfire, or prove that averages need to be reassessed? Which shows you clearly haven't a clue which way it is going to go, which in turn moots your argument that all riders should be reassessed, does it not smarty pants? . Your posts have more holes in them than Swiss cheese! You either believe that our signings will make a mockery of their average, proving your point that all riders should be reassessed and contradicting your comment that the 7 other teams will not be scared of them, or you believe that they will flop, contradicting and invalidating your point that all riders should be reassessed? Either way you've contradicted yourself and now look a tool.

Last season felt a lot to me like Matt was a little bit disheartened with the direction the league was heading, and that he wasn't putting as much effort into his signings as usual. This season feels like the complete opposite. Matt is out their turning every rock and trying to plan a killer team. I think this year will be a very strong one for the Pirates.

No, you just listed the only possible outcomes. Brexit will either backfire and prove all those leavers wrong or be a success and prove all those remainers wrong. You've not actually said anything of any value. Your post was trying to suggest that their averages should have been reassessed, but actually you don't have a clue whether or not they need to be reassessed at all. Basically, you don't like the idea of Poole playing a decent hand, and therefore would like it so that Poole couldn't possibly take such a risk by having their averages reassessed to a level that makes the risk unattractive to Poole (or any other team for that matter). I know you guys are still crying over Doyley but you need to move on and worry about 2018 rather than telling us how nobody is going to be scared by our signings (which is funny considering you clearly aren't decided on whether they are going to flop or massively out perform their averages lol) . Clearly you're a little scared or you wouldn't be hovering round our thread like flies on sh*t.

If it backfires, then surely it should show that they shouldn't have had their averages reassessed and you're wrong?

What an absolute disaster and another embarrassment for speedway. They announce a start time of 8:30pm and don't start until gone 9:00pm. The local rag then pips them to it as they were beaten to it by their own embargo. The stream is then garbage and nobody can hear a single word. A monkey with an iPhone stood a better chance of getting this right than these dinosaurs.

3 years is way too long. 3 years ago Darcy Ward was riding here. A lot can happen in 3 years. If a rider didn't ride here in the previous season, then their average should be reassessed. If they are due to be a GP rider in the season in which they are signing for then their average should be assessed at 8.00. If they are not a GP rider, and have never rode in Britain before, their average should be assessed at 5.00. If they have ridden here previously, but are not riding in the GP's, the average of the last year they rode in Britain should be compared to the most relevant foreign league average, year for year. Why does everything have to be so complicated? A rider last rode here in 2014. He doesn't ride in the GP's. When he rode here in 2014 his average was 5.00. His 2014 Swedish Elitserien average was 6.00. His current Swedish Elitserien average is 7.5. His current Swedish Elitserien average is 125% of his 2014 Swedish Elitserien average. Therefore his new British average should be 6.25. Dead easy. A rider last rode here in 2014. He now rides in the GP's. His average is 8.00. A rider last rode here in 2017. His average was 6.50. His average is 6.50. How does this not make more sense than all the other weird sh*t they're trying over here? I know that things have been messed up by last years weird increasing of averages, apparently at random, but we cannot possibly take all these things into account. We need to set a new base line and stick to it. It's far better than just making it up as we go.

Hope you enjoyed the years you got in. I doubt there will be any left post Ford. Not with the way this joke of a league is going.

GSI are in advanced stages of negotiating a TV deal. It is very unlikely that it will fall through. If it were to fall through, they've already a contingency to replace the lost revenue.

First! Phil, send me a message if you need some help. I have 12 years experience in IT. Linux, PHP, MySQL, etc. I can help you with anything from replacing that horrible JPG logo to implementing an SMS verification system (I'll even cover the cost for you). Let me know. That's a serious offer by the way. There isn't an issue you could have with this forum that I wouldn't be able to resolve. And no, I wouldn't charge you a penny. When you started this forum it was probably just a bit of fun, a hobby, etc... but whether you like it or not, it has now become a community at the centre of a sport. It has now become the trusted name, the go to place for speedway fans old and new. I'd be happy to help you improve it. At very least could you inbox me with your email address? I've got a lovely new png logo you could have for free. Not to mention, a die hard speedway fan with a passion for IT? I'm sure we'll get along like a house on fire
