Gavan surely holds that title? The difference is Steve is actually likeable.

Riders do tend to thrive at Poole. It's the Poole winning mentality, the world champions we usually have riding for us, the team spirit and the bond between the manager and the riders. It's a winning formula.

I'm sure the money will make its way back to Team GB

I hope that it will work out that way and I hope that the extra money finds itself being invested into growing the sport again. However, you cannot expect to cut quality without cutting costs. Too many fans will feel they are being ripped off, and I am one of them. A night of speedway, a programme, a burger (or chips) and drink for two will cost nearly £50! My local club classes anybody aged 16 or over to be an adult. An 18 year old working on minimum wage would need to give up 9 hours of pay for that and a 16 year old on minimum wage is looking at 12 hours! You've got to ask yourself whether £50 for a night out for 2 is worth it? To see the best in the world? Yeah, I'd say it is! To watch this new "premiership" speedway?... I just can't justify that sort of money.

That was Director 3's idea! They all thought he was a genius. They've been using that logic for over 10 years now and look what happened? The cakes keep getting worse and the customers keep falling away. People aren't as poor as some seem to think they are. Money is tight for a lot of people but we all still have an entertainment budget! The budget that the Sky TV comes out of, the holiday fund, the weekend days out. It's all about making the product worthy of a chunk of that budget. I imagine the price of speedway will stay the same this year, despite the drop in quality. The amount I'd spend on attending a (what I would deem very low quality) meeting with my girlfriend could instead get us a pretty good meal out! I'm talking starters, mains, desserts, refillable cokes and even a bottle of wine on the way home! That's exactly the right attitude to take. It needs a combination of getting the youngsters in to try the product, but also having a decent product for them to try! That's exactly how most of the promoters think, and that's exactly why the top flight has become so poor over the years. It's a completely backwards way of thinking. It's nothing to do about how cold it is on a night out... The rain perhaps, but not the cold! When you're paying near £20 a person for an evening out, you'll need more than 15 minutes of second rate riders and inexperienced Brits. Die hards will always go until the die hards die and there's nobody left to go.

Surely any rider that couldn't even average 3.00 in the PL last year is going to be a massive gamble and likely a shockingly poor addition to a Premiership team? Even in the weakened state.

Would love to have Kennett at Poole. Don't think a lack of major sponsor is worrying Cecil too much just yet.

Yeah, if by "worked out the Poole track" you mean he beat Bjarne Pedersen in a 3 rider race... And then came last in his last race.

Where are the 2pters? Where have they come from? Is there a list of them? We all know that reserves all too often win the meetings so why would you want a couple of 2pters going up against teams that will have solid reserves?

I appreciate that some clubs feel the need to cut costs, but every time you cut costs you can also expect to cut attendances, and this simply restarts the cost cutting process. It's very obviously an entirely unsustainable model that the powers that be have been implementing year on year.

What's the love affair of KK about? He's hit and miss at very best.

    They set a precedent with Lindback. Should be 7 which would make him 9.8. I wouldn't bother with Brady right now... 1 - Hans Andersen - 10.01 2 - Kyle Newman - 6.31 3 - Jarek Hampel - 9.8 4 - Jack Holder - 7.16 5 - Antonio Lindback - 9.8 6 - Ellis Perks - 3 7 - Richard Hall - 3.53 On a 9.8 average I expect Matt will be doing everything he can to get Lindback in the team.
  16. With the tosh you've spouted throughout your 1300 posts, going from barely being able to speak English to just being a general dick, I don't think you're in much position to criticize. Why don't you get back to calling Darcy a dick.

Not a top payer? Matt has a history of paying some of the leagues largest transfer fees.
  18. See what I mean? Her post history is full of rude and self righteous little jabs at people and then pretending she's good as gold after. At least people like Gavan know they are being dicks and don't try to pretend they are angels afterwards.
  19. I find it funny that Star Lady liked your comment when she is one of the biggest sh*t stirrers on the forum.

Let's be honest... bar injury Poole would have wiped the floor with the lot of you and they'll do it again this year. There isn't a team out there that isn't afraid of Poole (unless they've got nothing to lose already!)

It will be a rider who hasn't ridden in England for a while and will come in on a 9.8 average.
  22. No I talk as if Darcy can't even play on a games console anymore. The poor guy went from traveling the world and making big money to being able to do f*ck all.
  23. What a nasty pig you are. I found a career that I am very good at and somebody to pay me to do it too. I still give 110% percent. Darcy gave far more to the sport than he took from it, and in the end the sport took from him everything he had.
