Hi there Lisa.
You might or might now know that each season I produce My Top 2O Riders lists which are based on their most recent results. I have simply applied their previous season's efforts to see how they might continue into 2023. I know that some will improve but based on how they finished up my 2023 prediction is based on this.

Just checked Lewis Kerr and with certain matches not counting towards his average in his time at Sheffield (Play offs, League Cup final) his last 10 rolling would be 6.72 (7.54 inc bonus points) if all matches counted, that’s against his actual end of season rolling of 4.71. Like Kings Lynn with their compact second strings I can see Kerr, Howarth and Bellego all possibly having stints at number 6 during the season, think most teams will see movement between 2/4/6 especially once riders have bedded in and received an actual average for this season
All meaningful matches should be included in riders averages. What's the difference between a K/O Cup and a League Match? True averages would then apply and be the same for all.

Why can't last season's teams be used. It is after all last season's competition.

1) these older riders can assist the development of their team mates & be a target for developing riders to beat. I.e if you can beat Ben Morley, then you're teaching Champ reserve level.
2) do you remove all riders who aren't "developing" Elliot Kelly, Josh Embleton, Danny Phillips & Tom Woolley for example?
I do agree they should get rid of the "development" name & just call it the National League.
I said such older non developing riders should be allowed to ride and did not suggest that they should be prevented. I agree that such riders do provide help and guidance to the youngsters.

I feel the key to this is Dan & Joe can now both drive so there is less pressure on their parents to drive them to matches which allows them to run their family business more effectively .
I think the boys will do NDL away matches & Dan will mechanic Joe’s matches for Scunthorpe on their own which keeps costs down & means Darren can earn money from working aswell .There are better riders in the BNL than the twins who are older and still improving. They should not be prevented from riding while they are so young, They need every opportunity to ride. After all they are still developing and it is a Development League. Having said this there are quite a lot of oldies who are obviously no longer developing but should not be deprived of their inclusion. Perhaps it would be better to drop the word developing and simply call it The British National or Conference League.

IOW promote the club for its own best interests running on days and peak times that will generate the best crowds, putting on events that generate the most interest, not just on the night but across a season. They also run events that suit the track they have. Mildenhall can produce some incredible racing when the track is predictable its possible to watch 4 riders throw bikes at each other lap after lap and cross the line almost together (however when its patchy and unpredictable then the incessant number of fallers and delays is tiresome for many).
As with everything at present the costs are going to be the decisive factor, if the stadium is available for X dates at the right rent then calculations could be done to run a 3/4TT, individuals, pairs, challenge matches or whichever at any riding level the club chooses under NORA........but it will all be down to cost.
Is the reason for the meetings taking too long to run the number of restarts caused by accidents etc. Is Mildenhall a difficult track to race on for novice riders who quite often crash out and cause injury and fence repairs which cause delays.

Can riders take part in all 3 leagues?

But the fans voted him to be the most improved despite his average dropping.

Just read about all the improvements that are to be made. New track lighting being one of them. Been banging on about this for ever it seems. Swindon's track equipment has also been purchased.

I understand that the Leicester Supporters Club Members voted Connor Mountain to be their team's most improved rider despite his closing average being less than his starting average. 4 other riders did in fact improve with the most improver being Nick Morris who was my choice for the award.

This meeting is too cutthroat. It contains some of the best riders in the world all trying to get into the GPs. One bad ride early on makes them desperate. Would it not be better and safer if such an important meeting had semi finals and a final. This would give all riders more chances to keep an interest in the meeting therefore not making them so desperate.

Redcar do have a good team and could win out but Poole always seem to find a way.
