    Edinburgh v Newcastle

Home straight amongst a bunch of Edinburgh supporters more than one of which put Fx against Coles in there program before the ref made his decision.

    Edinburgh v Newcastle

Utter garbage. Danny was past him going into bend 3. clear daylight between Danny and Connor. It was identical to the move Pickering did on Matty in heat 3. Only difference was Matty wasn't out of shape on every corner, Unlike Coles. As for being a well prepared track, it's rubbish compared to what it used to be like when "Doc" Bridgett did it. Needs a big blade to take out all the 'hills' that are putting so many riders out of shape on the corners.

Well Plymouth have signed Chessell on a 28 day contract so they obviously think he's out for at least a month.
  4. Not quite. three days before changes come into effect, not necessarily the announcements. Indeed the announcement says "subject to BSPA approval" so the checks are still in progress. Scunthorpe last season announced they had dropped Danny, then found out (after the necessary checks!!!) that they couldn't do that. (after the transfer deadline).

Nathan Stoneman has been replaced by both Birmingham and Plymouth (temporarily) because he's injured and for no other reason. So it looks like he's out for a while at least.

    US! Issue's 15 through to 19 show him as 7.76 from 01/07.

    Edinburgh v Newcastle

You would have thought so. However, the racecard shows Steve as being 7.79, but the SGB website latest list shows Steve as 7.76. Not that it matters that much in this case, unless we were really close to the 40 point limit.
  8. I don't often get entertained on tapes up, full throttle, clutch out 1st out of the start, flat out racers tracks. Much prefer tracks with plenty of dirt, like the 70's ( Rory Schlein please note). The racing was better, more passing, more entertaining. If modern bikes can't cope then change the Bl**dy bikes not the track. You don't see any other sport where they change the track to suit the modern equipment.

    Wolves v Swindon 8/7/19

It was said on sunday (at the Newcastle v Scunthorpe match) that Stefan is looking to return this Friday for Scunthorpe. Don't know off hand if Swindon have a fixture on Thursday or if he'll be back for that if so.

Page 15 Newcastle v Scunthorpe program. Which are THIS season's proper averages , Including bonus points. GSA's are always "bent" these days as they don't include bonus points and currently include half of last years fixtures! It just shows how good a partnership he has with Matty as they've scored as many bonus points between them as the rest of the team put together. Matty is averaging 8.26 this season as against his GSA of 6.52. Heaven help us if he gets injured. ( As Sheffield have found out with Broc Nicol).
  12. There's always been talk on the terraces this season regarding team changes. If it happens (and I'm not holding my breath) I somehow doubt it'll be where it really needs to be.

Really.! I thought he was ill ( Some infectious virus). Point 1:- We used R/R for Lasse last night so a sick-note would have been needed. Point 2:- If he has been sacked then we would have only been able to use a 2 point guest last night (which, as it happens wouldn't have made that much difference). Personally I'd be surprised as he is 3rd in the team averages behind Steve and Matty (who has been simply sensational this year and is currently miles ahead in my rider of the year so far). Whereas our original number 1 is 4th!

Well he beat the guy he replaced twice last night. In fact, apart from heat 5 when Danny Ayres made a blistering start, he was only defeated by opposition heat leaders. He'll do for me for now. it's other areas of the team need looking at.

But not so good for Steve.

    Newcastle 2019

Needs 4 home and 4 away, by which time we'll be well into August so his average won't drop until 01 september. Far too late.

    Newcastle 2019

Yes. Last years championship average is only valid until he has a current (not start of season) average in ANY league. Since he didn't have a Championship slot, just a Premiership slot, once the first revised greensheets were issued he has to come in on a converted Premiership average which makes him a 10+. something similar to Craig Cook's average. I believe Edinburgh have also been interested in signing him and possibly tried to get that rule overturned but failed. There interest has cooled when they realised what his average would be (even with the now revised points limit).

    Newcastle 2019

His dodgy attitude was primarily with his fellow team mates (Redcar, Sheffield). i've yet to see any of that this year. In fact the very opposite. He's lost points trying to help his partner this season, without any real tantrums. He's not the first rider, or likely to be the last, to appear to give up when last.

Dan is committed to Poland most Sundays. Even if we could persuade him to come to Newcastle it would require major team surgery. According to some Edinburgh supporters at the fours Edinburgh are looking at bringing him into there side. BUT and it's a big but, he comes in on a converted Premiership average which means he's somewhere near a 10. Mason Campton can't come back until next March/April as his visa has expired and he can't return for 12 months (assuming he qualifies via various Aussie championships). Danyon's average is just a tad too high as a direct replacement for Danny. (I blame Max or Matty for improving too much!! Only joking). Ben Barker/ Joe Lawlor. There's a reason they were sacked by their respective clubs and it has little or no reason to do with riding a bike. wouldn't go there personally.

The daftest thing is that if Danny had quit he would probably have received a 28 day ban for "withholding his services" even though Scunthorpe wanted rid of him. That would have impacted on his NL bookings, not to mention any guest or individual bookings
  21. leander

    Newcastle 2019

Nope:- Guests or rider Replacement depending on the applicable regulation. Same as if someone gets injured after the deadline. (As Scunthorpe tried last year to replace Danny with guests, but couldn't because Danny wouldn't play ball and quit).

There was a lot to commend the meeting, but an awful lot not to. Running out of programs more than half an hour before the start. Was the crowd really that much bigger than in the past. I don't think so. Public address system. Inaudible on the back straight, Far too loud in the main stand. 5-10 second bursts of music!!! during the actual racing (as if the DJ was cuing up his music ready for the end of the race). Presentation:- Rider interviews too often interrupted by the two minute warning. A simple glance by the interviewer to see the tractors leaving the track would have told him to wrap it up as theracing would have been about to restart. The interruption to Scott's interview was, in my opinion, downright rude. Simply to cut in to say regulation x, y, z, or whatever was being implemented and heat 12 was being run before heat 11, was unnecessary. There was plenty of time before the race for the interview to finish and the crowd to be informed of the change (the 2 minute warning hadn't been sounded. There was enough time even if it had). The atmosphere in the stadium seemed a bit flat, possibly due to a lack of a centregreen presenter to gee supporters up. The pre-meeting parade. What was that all about? Where was the riders' introduction to the crowd? Team captains and manager!! your having a laff. REALLY! And the toilets or more accurately, the lack of. There was a many people in the ONE and ONLY queue for the gents during the interval as there probably was left in the stand. Why was one of the two toilet blocks locked shut when the stand was probably at least 80% full? This is the biggest event the BSPA put on each year (Keith Chapmans Words) and Peterborough made a bloody good p*ss poor job of the presentation/facility side On the plus side track prep was spot on and the racing certainly didn't disappoint and the riders and track staff should be given credit for that. The meeting was progressed in good time without any unnecessary delays, or without it appearing to be in too much of a rush in view of the number of races to be run. In short the BSPA could (and have) done better. Oh, by the way, there was only one rubbish bin on the back straight.

Showground;- Facilities: 2200 Capacity Grandstand running the full length of the home straightGrass banking on the back straight, though it's not as high as it used to be.Fast food outlets on grandstand side of trackTrack Shop (selling Official Club Merchandise)Licensed Bar (Located in the Northampton Suite, situated on the first corner, open before, during and after meetings)Disabled Parking (Inside the Showground) - Disabled parking within the stadium is permitted as long as a blue badge is on display. (Probably advisable if you have a permit, as it can be a bit of a hike depending on which main car park, outside the showground, they use). I'd be very surprised if they don't allow you to take in picnic seats. I don't recall it being a problem in the past.

Possibly indirectly. League fixtures against Edinburgh are listed for Fri 12 July and Sun 14th July. I would suspect that they are swopped to be the KOC fixtures and the league matches re-arranged for later on. The Berwick fixture was originally down for 08 September and was our last league match. can't see the KOC being left that late.

I see Berwick are now at Newcastle (league fixture) on the 30th June (filling in a previously blank sunday).
