German GP Teterow Saturday June 10th

Plenty of ways Eurosport could still show the GP if they wanted. I'm not sure of tennis timings but Saturday is listed as the Men's doubles final 4.30pm-7pm and then it's only highlights after. If it finishes in 2 sets then the GP could probably still be shown live. Could that final even start earlier if the Women's final before finishes quickly? If not, then have it at 7pm with delayed coverage. Or stick it on Quest/another channel. Even without affecting the schedule of other sports highlights/repeats, there's the option of repeating it on Monday 1am-4am. Instead it's an hour of the GP highlights, followed by an hour of the last Premiership meeting and then an hour of GP again which is pointless.

There can't be another sport where those running/connected with teams are so obsessed with moaning about keyboard warriors and making unprofessional comments/statements. What do they think it's actually going to achieve? There's not one club who can afford to alienate their supporters, if just 1 person decides 'I've had enough' after reading them, how are you replacing that £300+? If you can't handle a few critical comments then maybe either don't put yourself in that position or stay off social media. Whatever you do, it should be pretty simple to understand you don't start having a pop at your supporters because you need them.

Warsaw GP Saturday May 13th 2023

Unfortunate for Holder, never ideal to award a final but in cases like this it would be the right thing to do. No consolation for him now but I'm sure he'll win a GP soon enough. Thought Doyle was unlucky, can kind of see that the referee might have thought he made the most of it but there's no doubt if it had been the other way around then that would have been seen as enough contact to exclude. Hopefully Lindgren can continue his form and make the title race interesting.

    Lynn v Witches 4th May

It's when incidents like this happen that the lack of media coverage isn't such a bad thing. Within a few hours of this postponement there should have been an announcement of an investigation into the circumstances. Contact people at the stock car meeting to confirm that part of the story. Phil Morris should be there today to see for himself this damage and what's needed to fix it. It should be easy enough to then see how difficult it is to get those replacement parts. When Morris took this job he said: "There are three words associated with this role that stand out for me: integrity, transparency and perception, and all of those are big things for me which I feel need to be improved." Now is the time to prove that things will change. Maybe King's Lynn are telling the truth, if that's the case there's still no harm done in looking into it.

  11. I think it's rather unlikely they'll manage to sell 20k season tickets with a ground that has a 17k capacity.

Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...

Sheffield Belle Vue Ipswich Leicester Wolves Peterborough King's Lynn Not 100% on the order, I'd say the top 3 will certainly be in the play-offs and 4/5/6 all have a good chance of joining them.

Another great signing for the whole league, good to see some big names back and hopefully that results in higher attendances for all.

Exciting signing for the league, credit to Ipswich for getting it done. Will be interesting though to see how much, if any, attention this gets in the media.

    Somerset Closure

Unsurprisingly a google search for Robbie Williams and Stoke's stadium brings up no results. I'm not sure how recent this is supposed to be either as they've been owned by the co-founder of bet365 and one of Britain's richest men for the last 15+ years so it's unlikely they needed the extra cash. As you say, the Jackson stuff is a load of rubbish too especially considering that 2 of the directors running the club at the time of his visit were later convicted of fraud. The FA Cup match against Man United is correct but it was the hard work of the Supporters Trust and ordinary fans that was the main reason the club survived. edit: Can't seem to find any evidence of Simply Red and Ipswich either!

    Somerset Closure

What power would the Hancock's have to contact Rob Godfrey and oppose them getting a licence? The club has been closed down, has no track and as far as we're aware they have no plans to reopen somewhere else. This new company was planning on using a different name and is 10+ miles away, surely it's irrelevant what the previous Somerset promotion think?

    NEW LOOK FOR STAR

Same for me. When it came by Royal Mail it was almost 50/50 whether it was on time or late/delivered to wrong address/not at all. Much better since it changed and it's delivered 6-7am every Thursday, no issues at all.

    AGM

I'd like to see them shake-up the play-offs to reward the sides that finish higher, it's absurd that they go into them with no advantage over a team that finished in the bottom half. Something like; 1st v 2nd - 1 leg, winner straight to the final 3rd v 4th - 1 leg, loser knocked out Loser of 1st/2nd v winner of 3rd/4th - 1 leg, winner goes to the final Final still to be held over 2 legs Of course that would need the league to be completed first which might prove difficult but the side that finishes top does at least get some reward for doing so. 2nd still have 2 chances to make the final whilst 3rd and 4th have a more difficult route which should be the case in such a small division. It also makes the final league fixtures more relevant rather than the top 4 being pretty much sorted a month in advance with nobody overly bothered where they finish.
  21. Well done to Belle Vue, nice moment for the 2 younger riders to seal the title. Pleased for Mark Lemon too.
  22. Not sure what to make of this. If the rules don't allow for changes to be made at this point then there shouldn't really be any "in the best interests" exceptions. On the other hand it's good to see Lambert back (even if only for a few meetings) and it's preferable for a club to have a signing rather than guests.

    Swindon Robins 2020

Sad to see this confirmed although clearly it's been obvious it would happen for years. Poor statement, the vague mention of a new stadium just seems to be another way of stringing along the fans. Also unacceptable that they've been sat on this news for a month and only acted now because it was brought up on here.

    Wroclaw GP Saturday August 27th

Outstanding from Bewley again, possibly more impressive than his Cardiff win considering he wasn't at his best mid-meeting and it was on a track where half the riders hadn't given up. Excellent result for Lambert too. I think he gets some of the criticism because Bewley is progressing quicker, without Dan there people would be pretty happy with how he's doing. He's maybe taking a slower step towards the top but that's fine. He's still young, still making progress and with a little more consistency there's no reason why both of them can't regularly be on the podium.
