Theres a metro which goes straight from the station to the airport, signs all over the place, costs £2-£3, should be fine

I think at this point even if he's available, we'll stick with the same team. We've only just got a full team so George English will want to keep the team together.

Wrote up my opinions on Newcastle signing Matej Kus. Considering that the signing takes away our reliance on guests, it seems positive so far, give it a read if you want to and feedback is always appreciated.

I've written a review for the Diamonds' performance in May with calculated averages and point totals. Give it a read if you guys want and any feedback is greatly appreciated

I'm happy with the change. Wethers has been inconsistent but some time at reserve should be good for him and Ash has been arguably the best Newcastle rider this month, so he deserves a shot in the main body of the team

What did you guys think of the Berwick meeting on Sunday? Some great racing, Lindgren following on from his great score vs Ipswich at home and nice to see Wethers riding much better than previous meetings

Has been an exciting rider to watch in the past and obviously still has the enthusiasm, maybe his over enthusiasm has lead to his injuries in the past, but we would find out if he would work quickly,,, failing that, he would be short odds favourite to be side-lined first,,, giving us an opportunity for guest or r/r,,, I'll get me tin hat.

Roynon has in the past performed really well at Brough even though I do recall he has had at least one spill with his enthusiasm to wind it on full blast on the outside line. He would undoubtedly be a gamble, but George has in the past proved doubters wrong with his ability to take calculated risks.
If it is Roynon, I'm sure his team mates and the crowd will be very supportive and give him every opportunity to shine as our Number 1
I wouldn't be completely opposed to signing Roynon on a short-term deal if it'sour only option, however it's still slightly frustrating that Roynon is probably the only viable option we have left. Roynon has experience but the team may still struggle if he's pitched as a heat leader.

I've been looking through a database of riders who rode in the championship last season http://www.speedway-stats.co.uk/Averages/2017/2 and only found 2 seemingly unsigned riders which are probably unrealistic signings due to our financial constraints or being part of teams abroad but I'll mention them anyway. The first being Kenneth Hansen and the second being Jan Graverson. Again probably unrealistic and I'm not sure on their commitments abroad but I have no other ideas for potential riders.

I'm going to reserve my opinions on the team until the last rider is announced but considering the small amount of time left to sign an out and out heat leader, things look bleak to say the least. As for supporting the team, I'll go and watch them as time permits but its understandable if people go elsewhere if they feel they can watch better speedway. The team makeup may change for the better as the season progresses but at the moment, we'll have to wait and see.

I can only agree. I wrote the Morris article from a what if standpoint. Having Morris at reserve is an excellent option but I'm unsure what potential heat leaders are still available which Newcastle will sign

It' nice to see a report look at the whole picture not just the short comings . Roll on 2018 and getting settled at my new home over the first few meetings
Regards wilko
Thank you for the kind words about the report. Followed speedway for a long time and the Newcastle Diamonds more closely when I moved up here for university. I plan on writing more about the Diamonds during the season and I want as many speedway fans to see what I write as possible. Wish you all the best for the new season and hope you and the Newcastle Diamonds have a successful season.
Kind regards
Freddie

Slightly unsure about the Newcastle DIamonds squad so far. Wrote a couple of articles about them. 1 about the signing of Carl Wilkinson and 2 about Ashley Morris and whether he can be an effective heat leader for the Diamonds or not.

Premier league race nights on Monday and Wednesday.
Championship race nights on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday -
I've watched the Diamonds only once this season due to other commitments, can anyone give any opinions on the team overall. Just from looking at the squad and averages, it seems very top-heavy.

I believe Sky Bet allow you to bet on all Premiership matches
Cool, I thought they only had televised meetings up, cheers for pointing that out.
Also i bet on Rob Lambert to win the U21s, probably a tall order but the odds were good

Hi, just wondered if Isle of Wight have a meeting on the 14th september, going to be down there for a couple of days, I know on the fixture list it says reserved but just wondering if its changed.

Probably some of the best Speedway i've seen in a while, felt sorry for Lindback being pipped in the final but Zmarzlik rode like a God round the outside
-
I've bet on Speedway through Sky Bet. They make betting on the meeting available if its on TV (e.g. Somerset vs Leicester yesterday). You can bet on the overall winner, the handicap and who will win a specific heat

Not sure if he's a real fit in the team or if he's been taken by another team but I would love to see Josh Pickering ride around Newcastle again, always in the dirt on the outside, very exciting to watch
But overall, I think the squad is shaping up well so far.
