Most mx clubs in the U.K  left the ACU and joined the MCF as they have brought mx and other 2 wheeled sports into the 20th century and riders can have both ACU and MCF licences  the Courtney's tried to run a speedway GP style event around the country through them but the riders were threatened with bans from the Bspa if any of them run with a MCF licence ,the Courtney's run a very sucessfull mini bike series through the MCF  they run the F2 speedway also

Having seen first hand the minibike champs series grow year on year to now have its own world championship , the Courtney brothers and Co are capable of taking speedway to another level if allowed to by the old guard . It's going nowhere but downhill at present so it could just be what's needed to save speedway in this country .

As i suggested yesterday, a couple of " plants"  just here to cause as much trouble as possible, each with their own agendas.

Says the bees supporter that doesn't support the team just because the running behind it doesn't sit right with him . Like I've said a few times , you're a fantastic supporter. You make me laugh .

Dont Forget  changed their name from Save Coventry Stadium  to save Coventry speedway  after they appointed themselves defenders of the realm

The sooner it's realised that all this save campaign is doing more harm than good the better,  I'm aware of all the spirit put into this scs group but they are all on a pointless mission - Coventry bees will never race at brandon stadium again , or at least in the way the campaign group would want it to .

The only plant on here is you mushroom.  Yea we'll see if you get your wish - like I say you're the worst supporter a team could hope to have .

The operation will close at Leicester as it's on a years lease

    Too subtle for you?

Are you and Adonis the same person by any chance? If not it seems we have two "plants" on here defending Horton.

Once all this is concluded and the operation at Leicester closes , as it surely will, i expect you two will just disappear into the ether. As is the norm.:D

No surprises here then ,  you can't even come up with one thing  ,that was your opportunity to  give yourself at least a little credibility and you have thrown it away ,

So Dave Jones finally admits he goes off what he sees and press releases etc to gather his facts and a bit of hearsay thrown in for good measure - of course if ,as I suspect ,you have some association with the save Coventry speedway campaign  then that would explain so much ☺

Unfortunately this is what happens when you don't own your own stadium. The 4s wasn't a Bees promotion meeting was it? Electrical work was the reason for the Buxton call off but no idea about this Sunday? Maybe the Monday tv fixture had something to do with it?

Your correct, a relative works for the bt sport set up crew and he said they are working at Leicester over the weekend to get set up for Mondays live meeting.

I have complete sympathy with the smaller clubs and rising costs etc, and respect what they do and how they do it. BUT What often seems to be forgotten is that costs have drastically increased for riders too. Look at fuel prices on the roads for starters before you enter the realms of "bespoke" speedway parts and service bills that make the eyes water.

I wonder now with the number of development league teams whether a tier between mdl/sdl level and level national league level. Using old conference league rules around she and ability.

It clearly is a situation with no easy fix, but in this day and age (probably any day age) wage caps or similar sanctions just don't work. Of course if you have money you are going to want to buy the best it's human nature.

What is obvious to me is that National League clubs need to be sat at the BSPA AGM and not set aside. Radical changes are needed but that won't be achieved with the current system. The next BSPA major vote should be, picking someone to employ as Independent Chairman and let them start making decisions.

The current system works for no one, decisions by comitee always leaves diluted solutions.

Wage caps etc etc if ever introduced could be policed but back handers which are common place cannot. Like with most things in life money speaks volumes when you want something.

Two teams without their permanent home. I think this meeting can go either way, looking forward to seeing Kemp ride.

Watched on updates and the end result looked closer than I would of predicted , on paper Cradley had by far the strongest team .

He would never have come to a Northern track due to his other committments.

I've noticed a few on these threads that suggest robbo should go , apart from being injured almost as soon as the season got going  he's been one of the diamonds top riders for many season's and can and does beat anyone round Brough park when he's fully fit .

Well Mr Horton, that was not acceptable tonight for a Coventry team even at a stronghold like Perry Barr.  It was obvious that your number seven was not competitive from his last outing at Birmingham and for an established rider and captain to boot, to score four points is putting two fingers up to your travelling supporters. There are no excuses for tonight and I'm sure that once again another loss will damage  what you are trying to achieve with the Bees. Make changes before it's too late , a winning team is the only answer to your predicament. More thought is needed in what you need to do in bringing more supporters back to support this team.

Just out of interest ,who would you of picked to guest at 7 for the bees ?

Historically Bees have always come up short in sorting out replacement cover, things don't change unfortunately.  When you're trying to impress the supporters you need to dig deeper to survive.

They probably fell foul of the rule that it has to be an unattached rider (3.00) and had very limited choice .

Good meeting today with more old faces reappearing from the Brandon scene. Nice to meet up with Leon and Jeff from the top bar and of course a pleasure to see Colin Pratt who had travelled over from the Kings Lynn area to enjoy the meeting.  Birmingham have assembled a good team for this league and it showed with the number of heat winners. Cov entry's weeknesses showed against one of the leagues top teams and should be addressed to keep the upsurge of fans attending.  A free scoring reserve is needed, just look what the opposition had and the difference it makes,,especially on the away tracks. We are too weak here as too in the body of the team where apart from Mountain, we are packed with middle order riders  who can raise their game against the lower teams but are found lacking  that little bit of experience against the bigger riders.  I do hope things improve with the majority of the boys as they do give their all but a little tinkering could prove vital to ensure the fans remain and increase through  this  important season. Having said all that, well done to both teams for a very entertaining afternoon. Roll on Wednesday!

Couldn't agree more with any of that mate , one of my work colleagues attended the meeting and said more or less the same - only problem is there isn't  many riders out there to be drafted in but I'm sure the management will be searching for options.

Big meeting in terms of a bit of local rivalry and the National Trophy table. I can see this being very close indeed.

Looks like the brummies have gone r/r for cupitt which now gives them a potential boost with leon flint able to take more rides .
