If you got 600 paying fans through the door you wouldn't need any schemes for additional cash... 600 fans paying 15 quid to get into the meeting brings in 9k... Savagely basic figures but 2.5k to get the home meeting on and 500 quid travel for the away meeting leaves you with 6k to pay the riders over 2 meetings averaging 60 points at home and 40 points away including bonus points gives you an average rate for the team of 60 quid a point... So there lies your first problem or challenge getting fans to come and watch... however if you can guarentee 600 fans through the door you will have a hell of a start... Regards THJ

@Neila Got it about right Lewy... it's been discussed (today again as it happens) and it will depend on a few different factors and one being what state the sport is in at the end of the season and the escalating costs that are making the sport less and less viable and how many clubs are left at the end of the season and and and and... so it's still up in the air to be honest but Neil isn't a million mile off... Just been on a call out and called into Brough Park on the way back after the mention by @Triple.H. and nearly had a flutter on the last race but just missed out and boy am I please I did because the red hot tip for trap 4 came in last a think... the 2 won with the 3 second but never mind I bumped into a good friend of Newcastle Speedway in the one and only Andy "Dalbers" Dalby and he said was devastated the way things have transpired with the club and the effort and cash Andy put in over the years should not be overlooked.... Had a few good years Andy did and travelled the country following the Diamonds as a director of the club... He was happy to support JER both as a mentor with his previous knowledge and financially and even this help was turned down... If they want to be on the site they will be as no security measures are fool proof but there are substantial barriers in place to deter them... Plus if the guys can get power back to the site rather than a genny a comprehensive security system will be going in linked direct to the old bill... However it is a massive site to protect... Love this line in bold Please be nice to all members and the sport we love. Speedway needs as many supporters as possible, think about how to help promote the sport rather than risk damaging it. Constrictive criticism and suggestions on improvement rather than negative and damaging attacks. All fine and dandy but when you have someone peeing up your leg and saying its okay mate its only raining... then people get a little frustrated... it the lies that have upset me the most... culminating in his fire sale... when someone is taking the paying public for granted then it can be difficult for folk to take a rational and reasoned approach... don't blame anyone for sounding off and if the thread gets pulled then so be it... so what... no one on here could do any more damage to the club than what has already been done... FFS Ryan look at the pictures before jumping in... the banked areas go literally all the way round the track... the ref is on a banked area and the walkway in is the sloped area to the second bend you walk up that ramp and end up at the same height right along the home straight... Unfortunately that's it for tonight as I have used up my picture quota; I will be back with the rest of the track walk later on in the week and the next view once I can load it up is from the top of the banked area platform where the seats will be going looking across the back straight back towards the start tapes Oh and on that last one the gate got boarded out on Sunday so all the boards have been fitted to the fence... Here is the next big announcement Steve Lawson is turning up with a bike and I am turning up with my stop watch and Steve will be setting the official track record (weather permitting because he isn't as young or as daft as he used to be) on Saturday and Sunday with one or two other reprobates have a spin also... This one is coming out of bend 2 and looking up the back straight and you can see where the seating area will be on the banked area with the trees to the rear of the seating and you can also see the trackway in front of the banked area which is the roadway to the tractor compound and its "Bleedin Obvious" that 1. no one will be allowed to stand there and 2. it is a roadway why stand there when you will be able to sit high up on a vantage point overlooking to track and 3. keep usng the imagination because its "Bleedin Obvious" the thing isn't finished yet...
