    Peterborough Panthers 2023

Let's not be surprised! Speedway has been rapidly going to the dogs for years. Poorly run by those in authority and promoters who by their own admission, have watched it get this state without doing sod all about it. Rugby league was going the same way a few years ago, but it was revamped and taken over by people who cared about the sport and its now thriving. Possibly to late for Speedway unfortunately. It needed a revamp years ago, but was and still is just plodding along with track closures becoming more regular, falling attendances and no sign bringing it in line with other popular sports. I forecast in less than 10 years that there will be only one league running in this country with possible 10 or less teams. Sad, but fact !!

    Peterborough Panthers 2023

Whatever the outcome of all this, it doesn't paint a very rosy picture of Peterborough speedway. I honestly thought we were a well run club with a professional management structure, but now I have my doubts !

We are fast becoming a joke of a speedway club.

    Peterborough Panthers 2023

It's just a shame that this is our final season at the showground and what should have been a celebration of over 50 years of Peterborough speedway has turned out to be so farcical and controversial The supporters have been left in the dark for many months now about possible takeovers and team building for the new season, which they do not deserve. Someone please have the decency to tell us now what is going on with Pedersen. The club has the best supporters in the country. Don't treat them like mugs !

    Panthers v Tigers 29/08/22

Have to agree with other comments on here that speedway is fast becoming a joke of a sport. The warning signs have been there for years, but still nothing has been done to bring it in line with other sports. It's dying a slow death and promotors are standing by and watching it die. It's no wonder tracks are closing down every season. I hope the management are going to offer a price reduction on the next home meeting for those who attended today. I doubt it very much and we the paying public will be forced to pay full price again for a club which I feel has shown very little ambition this year. Tonight has cost me in the region of £50.00 for 10 minutes of entertainment. Extortionate, in times where money is becoming increasingly important. Will I go again this season? Probably not!

    Cardiff 2022

I've been to every Grand Prix at Cardiff since it was initially moved to Wales. In that timeI 've seen some memorable meetings, some mediocre ones, poor ones and Saturday must go down as the worst of the lot. For the first time in many a year, I just wanted to get up and leave I was that bored. The track was terrible, the racing awful, prices scandalous. All in all the whole weekend for my partner and myself came close to £600. I could have bought a season ticket for both my local football and speedway team for that amount of money I've already made my decision not to go next year as I can't justify the cost. Speedway needs to take a long, hard look at itself otherwise its going to end up in the history books. Far too many people involved in speedway are only in it to rip off the public. Well for me enough is enough. I've paid my fair share over the years to watch a sport I enjoy. Now that enjoyment has dried up and I will spend my money on more important things in life.
  7. I'm looking for a Wolverhampton v Peterborough Panthers programme dated 02/07/2021 to complete my collection for this season. If anyone could possibly please help then contact me through the forum or on my mobile 07944726412
  8. Cmon boys, one more last push. Let's finish the season top of the league and as well deserved Champions.
  9. Whatever team we put out Thursday night will do us proud I'm sure. As did the team tonight. To get within two points of BV with an injured number 1, Hans withdrawing after one ride and a guest who only scored 1 point speaks volumes. Probably one of the most consistent and exciting teams we have ever had!

  11. I'm sure Lemon can remember the last time he was involved in a play off final against the Panthers.

    Panthers v Wolves - 2nd leg

I for one doubted Kerr as a choice of guest, but I will hold my hands up and say the boy done good! Inspired choice.

    Panthers v Wolves - 2nd leg

It's a shame we can't use Danny King. Would have been the ideal replacement and always gives 110%

    Panthers v Wolves - 2nd leg

Would be a shame if our terrific season came to an abrupt end all because we were not able to find a suitable guest. This team has defied the odds all season so fingers crossed they can pull it off tomorrow night.

    Panthers v Wolves - 2nd leg

Does anyone know if MPT will be available for Thursday nights showdown or will Kerr be his replacement. I'm not convinced that Kerr is a suitable replacement and blows hot and cold. Could be the difference between Panthers progressing to the final or being knocked out in the semis.

Wolves vs pboro semi final 1

Let's hope the Panthers deservedly win the play offs and then perhaps mouthy Steve will finally shut up.

Wolves vs pboro semi final 1

I thought this thread was supposed to feature Wolves and Peterborough. I for one couldn't give a monkeys about Poole and whether they should be in the premiership or not. There time has come and gone and the less said the better!
  18. Racing as been top notch all season on a well prepared track that's not prepared for home advantage like some I could mention.
  19. How much is Panthers success this season down to Rob Lyon. Its clear to see that all the riders have the ultimate respect for the guy and the team respond accordingly. Team spirit is high and its great that the club are percevering with Jordan Palin. The boy has obviously got talent and needs to be neutered. He will come good. Past seasons Panthers have tended to loose patience with some of their younger riders if they don't immediately produce the goods.
  20. Plenty of Lynn fans at Alwalton last night. Not sure if they were there to see the quality racing on show or to take a swipe at Buster.
  21. Lots of Lynn fans at Alwalton tonight, obviously they know where to go to see good speedway.
  22. If every track in the country was as good as Peterborough then speedway wouldn't be in the mess its in now and crowds would increase ten fold. Always produces excellent racing on a track with no home advantage. Tonight was no exception with so many racing lines. Riders must be in dream land!

    Peterborough Panthers 2021

For everyone who wrote the Panthers off this season. Shame on you!! No substitute for experience and a damn good team manager. Let's keep it going and prove all those doubters wrong.

Can we use Bewley to cover for Ulrich if BV are not racing on the same night?
  25. I'm back researching Junior league matches from the 1980/90s. I'm now looking for any help with the 1989 National Junior League. Teams who took part and any scores please
