  1. Reckon it will be Emil, Riss, King, Rew, Doyle, Hume & D. Thompson if running under current regs I'd be tempted to roll the dice and stick Dan at no.6 if they get a 25% reduction for a rising star being in the main team which would make him a 3.00 then throw Boughen in as a wild-card rising star, there is something about him that is worth the risk and having Emil and Doyle in would help him You could if you wanted to change King opt for Douglas or Masters, then could retain Rew and maybe Cook could come on for Riss Other riders to consider maybe Ellis on a low average, Bomber if the Foxhall track is prepared like the last few meetings of this season, i like Fredrik Jakobsen on a 5.71 ish average too, had a poor 2023 with Lynn but most did, remember him from last year looked very quick and stylish and scored something like 13 points from reserve, in the main body at no.2 or no.4 could do a good job
  2. A few Witches fans would be best going to bed and focus on the Ipswich 2024 thread in the morning Sheffield and other fans getting alot of bites with their rods out, and deservedly so (for sheffield fans)
  3. Congratulations to Sheffield and their fans, done what was required tonight in impressive fashion.
  4. Don't let Ipswich fans down by turning into Lambert yourself

    2024

One league of say 14 sides could work but the one thing that will stop that are riders who are capable of scoring decent points in the two current leagues as they'll earn more than the cost For a lower end rider struggling in both then riding one league could/would/should reduce costs
  6. Managed to get the VPN working to watch from heat 8 onwards, decent result for the witches
  7. It helps Thursday and don't fly home til Saturday lol was hoping the postponement would mean a reschedule for next week but I'm not that lucky
  8. VPN is having a nighmare Is there anywhere to listen to the meeting tonight?

    Ipswich 2023

As nobody has started yet, I hear from what I hear not always a reliable source of info but potentially 42.5 point limit with no rising star So, I will start with what I would like to see as a 1-7 1. Jason Doyle 2. Frederik Jakobsen 3. Rohan Tungate 4. Erik Riss 5. Danny King 6. Paul Starke 7. Danyon Hume Most likely no chance of Jakobsen but he was class at Foxhall this season A likely scenario would see Jakobsen/Tungate swapped for Batch & well if the Brits still get a reduction or any further average manipulation maybe you could get Batch in with Tungate or someone like Morris Just off the top of my head who has impressed me visiting Foxhall this season who would be good additions Jakobsen, Basso, & Becker stand out, would be interesting to fit in Klindt who is due a season at Foxhall after the Covid debacle, Klindt with Doyle would probably leave too long a tail

    2024

Every year its the most important for the sport, however there won't be any major shake up as the promoters are in it for themselves not the sport apart from a select few Oxford or Birmingham to move up Workington potentially to move up NDL will likely struggle so something will need to be done there Most things are already agreed for 2024 next month just rubber stamps things, expect minimal changes
  11. Can't it just run as the 2nd leg next Monday then I'll be able to make it
  12. 100% make it grippy as you say King likes it Rew gets stuck into it, Riss is ok if he gates, Danyon maybe needs a word in his ear just to settle for 3rd places in some heats instead of pushing too hard and getting caught out 100% Harris will be a danger but 100% expect him to score no more than 7 from 4 rides which would be a good return I think Witches 52-38 on the night
  13. I think Orion has a point vs Belle Vue only Kurtz seemed to fancy it. Yes the track may suit Bomber again but he will be up against Emil, Doyle and King which will be harder than previous If Bomber returns 7 from 4 rides minimum i think he's done well once again, yes he could in one race beat Emil or Jason but he could also miss the gate vs King/Rew and conceade a 5-1 against Will be a great watch if i can sort my VPN out to watch here in Turkey

    2024 team building averages

I dont think much will change next season as the promoters are unable to think creatively Prem will be 6 teams with either Oxford or Birmingham moving up. Championship will be Berwick, Edinburgh, Poole, Glasgow, Redcar, Scunthorpe, Plymouth, and can see Workington moving up so 9 sides What happens to the NDL and Mildenhall/Kent remains to be seen... Dont see the points limits changing either but some odd tweaks to some odd rules that will be picked apart during that season

    Ipswich 2023

If they do the double could see all 7 back with D Thompson as rising star and Hume at 6, think right now with the british reductions it may creep just under 39?
  16. 6 side prem next season so 7 riders will already be on the sidelines next year, and its not the sidelines its a squad place! So could ride some weeks others not A fair few riders available for the 2nd rising star spot Might entice some other riders back for a squad place Tungate, Bjerre, Thorsell, Michelsen, Thomsen etc Might attract some younger european riders to take a squad place Might even attract riders like Vaculik, Lambert, Lindgren to share a no.1 berth Plus there are a few riders already in the championship who would like a squad place Thomsen, Etheridge, Batchelor, Knudsen etc. If you rode speedway and had a championship ride and no top flight ride, would you settle for a squad place in the top flight, absolutely you would
  17. 10 man squads for next season An extra rising star, then a choice between sharing the no.1 spot, or an additional heat leader avg below their stated no.1 and an additional 2nd string Guests and RR at an absolute must if you have 4 riders injured in your 10 rider squad For example, Ipswich 1. Sayfutdinov 2. Riss 3. Douglas 4. B. Cook 5. Doyle 6. Rew 7. D Thompson HL Res 8. King - covers any missing heat leader who has a higher average SS Res 9. Hume - covers any 2nd string or Reserve who has a higher average RS Res 10. J. Thompson - covers for any missing reserve or rising star Worst case scenario if Doyle and Emil were missing together King comes in for Emil, 4th highest avg becomes 3rd heat leader and Hume comes in as a 2nd string or no.6

    Sheffield Tigers 2023

That final nail is taking a while to be hammered into that coffin, was put in around 2016 wasn't it

    Sheffield Tigers 2023

I'll say I'm sure a rider can only represent one club in the play offs as a guest And I'll also add I'm sure British speedway will find a way to shoot itself in the foot by going against the above
  21. Its a case of seeing how Jason does on Sunday he can ride in it and still pull out on Monday I'd personally if allowed use Harris and give Jason more time to recover as i think the Witches should reach what they need to progress Emil should get 11, Harris 7, King/Riss/Rew should get 18 between them smith and Hume should chip in 3 or 4 points all worst case scenario stuff
  22. I see this as 42-42 going into the Final Heat Unless Kurtz has an absolute stinker, he is the key man for the Aces tonight, capable of beating Emil around Foxhall
  23. Call it off now Bob call in sick
  24. Would witches fans bemoan a broken lock of the track gate or a broken bunting cord ahead of thursday?

    Ipswich 2023

Ultimately though its not the club who decides, its the rider
