Does anyone have any more information on the new TV deal or its proposal?

Replace kent with Birmingham or Eastbourne then the rest make up a new regionalised conference league. Cant see the points limit increasing or being abolished, even if increased there would not be enough riders of the desired quality available for most teams would be well within the limits, and if Glasgow went top flight racing with a higher limit or no limit free for all team building they'd probably end up with a 1-7 of big hitters lol

There is a serious lack of riders to do what needs to be done with the sport. So if you're talking a 10/12 team top league there might be a bit of a struggle however I feel a 7 rider team structure must take shape at the top league maybe reverting to a 13 heat formula so the reserves get 3 riders and the reserves are those who double down And I'd do away with the championship altogether and have a regionalised conference league and if necessary have them as 5 or 6 rider teams as that division should be about bringing on talent more than success of individual clubs Ipswich, Poole, Swindon, belle vue, wolves, Somerset, kings lynn, Peterborough, sheffield, Glasgow, leicester and kent should make up the Super 12 top division

    Ipswich 2019

I know nothing just wanted to make it 7 sides in north and south but now we've lost stoke, remove Coventry and NL could run with two divisional leagues of 6 clubs in each. Could run say 2 sets of fixtures against the team in the same zone and 1 set of fixtures against the opposite zone giving 16 home fixtures per season

I would imagine quite a few couldn't race on a Friday or Saturday night If this is the way British speedway wants to go then there will be about 6 clubs left battling it out

The biggest issue is the lack of riders available.... If you look at my suggestion of having a Super League of 12 clubs with a commonwealth reserve at no.7 all season To fill the 6 places without the no.7 would be 12 x 6 = 72 riders I've just about managed to name 72 exactly on the list below..... Aarnio Allen Andersen H Andersen K Auty Ayres Bacon Barker Batchelor Bates Becker Bellego Berge Bewley Bjerre K Bjerre L Clegg Cook Covatti Doolan Douglas Doyle Ellis Etheridge Fricke Gappmaier Garrity Grajczonek Harris Heeps Holder C Holder J Howarth Iversen Jakobsen Jensen R Jonasson Jorgensen Kennett Kerr King Klindt Kurtz B Kurtz T Lambert R Lawson Lidsey Masters Morris N Musielak Newman Nicholls Ostergaard Palm Toft Palovaara Pickering Pieszcezek Porsing Proctor Riss E Schlein Stewart Summers Thorsell Tungate Vissing Wells Wethers Wilson-Deab Worral R Worral S Wright Then I have said name 16 no.7's and clubs can pick one each and 4 would be left as "reserves" to cover injury etc. and obviously ride in the NL I have managed to come up with 18 names Sarjeant Perks Wajtknecht Shanes Nielsen Morris A Flint Hume Wood Bowtell Bickley Mountain Thomas Greaves Smith Kennedy Kemp Rowe

Apologies if most of this has been said already as not had the time to read through the 5 pages so far only snipets. League Structure Top league consisting of 12 teams with the rest dropping into the National League with the NL being regionalised with North/South divisions. League to be called "British League Super 12" and marketed online and via social media as loud, exciting, thrilling, extreme, crashes etc. paid for online marketing on Facebook/Twitter/Insta etc. aimed at the 9-20+ market as us older fans will go or know of the sport regardless, time to get the kids nagging the family to try speedway. Team Building For Top League For the top division based on 12 teams then looking at 40 points with the league no.7 reserved for not British but Commonwealth Riders who come in on an average of 2-3 points, a list of 16 eligible riders should be listed with their averages and the 12 clubs pick and build based on the rider and his average, the other 4 riders are then "reserves" for the season to be shared among clubs to cover injury etc. I would like to see a change in how averages are used to change teams etc. during the course of a season.... For example, if Craig Cook has a season start average of 8.5 that is the figure used for clubs to build their side, if his average falls to 6.5 during the season his club can replace him with a rider upto the value of Cook's starting average of 8.5 as I feel the club should not be penalised for riders who lose form, in the same instance other clubs can sign Craig Cook on his current average if he is "transfered out" by his club where he has started the season. If Cook has an average of 9.5 and his club want him out, then they again can only use the 8.5 figure as per the start of the season to replace him, so basically if a rider increases his average from his start average his job should be safe, I am pretty sure if we use Drew Kemp as an example he would have stayed at Sheffield all season. There should be a rule to stipulate the same rider cannot be signed twice during the course of the season so if Cook drops to 6.5 and is transfered out of Lynn they can't later on transfer him back in on the 6.5 average. Not only does it protect riders who increase their averages, it also makes team changes more interesting and keeps teams fairly strong and competitive. Few things I would like to see Points System I would like the bonus point to be returned with league points made much more simple. 3 Points for a win 1 Point for a draw doesn't matter if you are home or away Rider Order For the Home side, rider with the highest starting Average must ride at no.1 with the lowest two average riders riding at 6 & 7 For the Away side, rider with the highest starting Average must ride at no.1, the lowest average rider must ride at no.7 however the 2nd & 3rd lowest average rider can ride in any position in the team 2-6 Again this makes team management more interesting especially for the away side, do they drop a "reserve" in at no.2 or no.4 if their 5th highest average rider could do some damage from the no.6 position?

    Ipswich v Swindon 5/9/19

Had this idea a while and if Louis would give me 6 months to work on it then I'd put in the time. End of season individual championship called "THE TRU PLANT GRAND PRIX" ask Guy to donate a new Van for the winner as that's one hell of a prize from the offset. Then see if you can get 20 heat sponsors at £1000 each so £40k prize pot plus the van. £500 a race win, £300 for 2nd and £200 for 3rd nothing for last. For the 20 heats only. Do it on the format of the normal grand prix. Pretty sure you could end up with a line up of 1. King 2. Iversen 3. Doyle 4. Fricke 5. Batchelor 6. Jensen 7. Lambert 8. Woffinden 9. Cook 10. Kurtz 11. Schlein 12. Bjerre 13. Worrall 14. Nicholls 15. Allen 16. Thorsell Maybe with Heeps and Kemp as reserves, what's a new van worth £20k? Would be a good prize for any rider to win, the heat money would be irrelevant

    Ipswich 2019

Badly is right that points limit would have to be 40 so perhaps if we select a pool of 16 british young lions they can go and stay at no.7 on a 2 to 3 average all season depending on ability. 4 of the 16 acting as injury cover, sure someone will come up with a list of candidates. NL North 1. Berwick 2. Edinburgh 3 Newcastle 4. Redcar 5. Scunthorpe 6. Belle Vue 7. Stoke NL South 1. Eastbourne 2. Cradley Heath 3. Isle of Wight 4. Kent 5. Mildenhall 6. Plymouth 7. Coventry Could be branded the Northern/Southern "Super 7" series Home and Away twice Top 4 from each league progress to play offs so winner North plays 4th in South and so on... One cup competition with all clubs combined also Very much a less is more

What would you suggest? Just a few issues with UK Speedway 1. Its not a professional sport 2. Not enough riders to cover the amount of teams, when supply doesn't keep up with demand then there are problems 3. Not enough home grown riders coming through although its improving So having one top league one professional-ish or semi pro league of 12 is good IMO Regionalising the NL in a North/South with more clubs taking part should create more opportunities for the younger riders I'm not sure why BSPA dont hold 4/5/6 events per year of full day learning sessions ran by current and ex riders and physically write to grasstracker, motocross riders, kids at club level road racing, or even the ones who compete in BSB motostar and junior super stock classes trying to get these guys to make the transition to speedway I'm sure it would get at least half a dozen into the NL especially with the road racing as it costs families 20/30k per year to race and they dont get points money at least with speedway it offers that and if you have ability it's easier to get the money in grand prix and poland and costs less than forging a career into MotoGP

If they get 12 clubs they could rebrand it to THE SUPER 12 loud, noisy, crashes, bit of the extreme

    Ipswich 2019

If they are going to tinker again then they need to have a 12 team top flight, maybe with a 42 or team building structure. From the top of my head 1. Poole 2. Swindon 3. Belle vue 4. Sheffield 5. Glasgow 6. Ipswich 7. Kings Lynn 8. Peterborough 9. Wolverhampton 10. Leicester 11. Birmingham 12. Somerset The rest of the CL needs to be downgraded to the level of the NL with some form of regional split. And if team building was now off the top of my head without seeing any averages so unsure if it would fit... 1. Iversen 2. Heeps 3. Jensen 4. Covatti 5. Mechelsen 6. Allen 7. Kemp

I think Swindon will let Ipswich win but will take a point, they will be told to take zero risks but that could still beat ipswich on current form

    Race for the top 4

Seems a few can't debate without them having to feel they are correct, say your piece, allow people to counteract your beliefs with the view of "we will agree to disagree" end of the day you are all speedway fans so share the most important thing together. Poole are a successful club, I wouldn't say matt Ford is even partly responsible for the decline in british speedway in fact I think the sport would be in a better place if you had someone like Matt Ford and Guy Nicholls governing the sport. Middlo is a good manager and person has the trophies to back it up, clown is not a word I'd use to describe someone who has given the sport alot Hawkins however is not useless as a manager perhaps inexperienced but will he learn?

You been on those scooby snacks again I see, NKI qualifier for the GP series next year, where was THJ cant even compare to two in their current state

    Ipswich 2019

Makes Ipswich weaker IMO Harris doesn't look like turning it around regardless so now witches will be reliant on NKI, Heeps, Allen, Lawson and King at home while carrying Harris and Sarjeant Let's face it Harris is never going to score big every week at Foxhall but if he did rediscover some form away then it makes the witches stronger away potentially As someone said earlier tho would have preferred to see Harris & Kennet go and bring In NKI and a stronger reserve Time will no doubt tell, must enjoy NKI while we can as he wont be here next season now hes in the GPs Think most would have preferred Tungate now instead of Harris lol
